The Queen Of The Demon World

The Queen Of The Demon World
8. Returnees

Ethelyne greedily ate the bread she had just bought at the market, she leisurely sat on one of the branches of the tree with one hand holding an arrow.

“Master, are you sure you want to hunt today? You just recovered this morning,” Laurie said, she's not worried about Ethelyne. The problem is, Ethelyne woke him up while still asleep in a dream this morning and asked him to accompany him hunting. Even worse, he was asked to hold a small number of arrows.

“I'm fine, anyway. You want to try human food, right? That's why I'm hunting today so I can cook for you.”

“What?” laurie asked dumbfounded, she shook her head and tried to digest Ethelyne's words just now. ‘Cooking? Master, did you forget what happened in the royal kitchen when you were cooking. The kitchen is almost on fire because of you, even in the second try. Your homemade food is very unpleasant to eat and bland, ugh. Just remembering it makes my stomach uncomfortable.’

“What's up? You don't like my cooking?”

Laurie shook her head quickly as she sensed the intimidating aura from Ethelyne, she smiled very sweetly despite the obvious forced look. “S-I really like your cooking, Master. It's just, I want to try a cake made from humans.”

“Hah? You mean I'm not human?”

Instead of reducing, the intimidating aura was just outnumbering. Laurie swallowed her saliva nervously. “B-not so I mean, Master.” He glanced in the other direction. ‘How do I persuade the master not to cook for me without hurting his heart?’

“Forget it, I'm not hunting.” Ethelyne jumped down from the branch and landed safely to the ground, she with an annoyed look on her face walked away.

“Master, wait! I didn't mean to offend you!!”

As if not hearing Laurie's scream, Ethelyne kept walking until he unknowingly reached a ravine. Ethelyne frowned when she realized something.

“Master, why do you ... not wait for me?” laurie asked who was catching up with Ethelyne with hunting breath.

“Laurie, isn't this weird? It looks like I went down the same path as I entered the forest, but why did I even get to a cliff?”

Laurie walked over and stared at the steep cliff in front of her. “Em, you are right. We went down the same road when we got here, but we got to the edge of the cliff. Isn't that weird, Master?” He looked at Ethelyne with his innocent look.

Ethelyne held back the anxiety of not directly killing the girl so-called events in front of him. “Already, you're making my mood worse. Let's go back.” He turned around, but the first thing he saw was a pile of rotting corpses.

Laurie immediately closed her nose as she smelled a pungent foul odor. “Eugh, why are there suddenly so many corpses here?”

Ethelyne glanced around warily, she pulled Laurie behind her.

“What's up, Master? Do you feel like something's wrong?” laurie asked who felt strange about Ethelyne's attitude.

“Fixed behind me,” murmured Ethelyne quietly, he kept staring around alert. It was as if he let his guard down just a little, then he would lose his head.

“But--”

A black shadow suddenly appeared behind Laurie and was about to stab her, but Ethelyne swiftly turned around and pierced right into the heart of the black shadow. “You, devil?”

“Why ... can there be demons in the human world?” Laurie stared in surprise at the demon corpse which was now starting to fuse into ashes, she turned to Ethelyne who was staring at the demon ashes with a cold gaze.

It was as if anyone could drown in a bottomless well while staring at his sparkling sea blue eyes.

Ethelyne pulls Laurie into her arms. “Stay still and do not dare to move a step,” he said almost without a sound. “Harvey, no need to hide anymore!”

“Hem, you are still very great as always. Princess Master.”

A handsome man with glasses walked out from behind a tree, he bowed respectfully. “My respect to the Princess of the Devil kingdom.”

“Why did you bring me and Laurie here?”

Harvey looked up and looked at Ethelyne with a faint smile, he stood straight and snapped his finger. “I think, you will be happy with the atmosphere similar to the human world. But it seems I was mistaken.”

“Why did you bring me here?” ask Ethelyne again with a cold face.

“I'm here to pick you up, Your Majesty. Please come with us back to the demon kingdom, His Highness the Crown Prince will soon be serving as the new Demon King.”

“I won't come!”

Harvey still smiled at Ethelyne. “You do not have the right to refuse, Your Majesty.”

“Laurie,” call Ethelyne muttering.

Laurie looked up with a face holding back tears.

‘Gosh, why did this annoying dragon turn into a crybaby girl?’ Ethelyne held a smile. “Come back now, let me take care of the rest.”

“Ma-master, k-my strength. I can't use my power.”

“What? How can??” Ethelyne looked up at Harvey, he clenched his hand. ‘Of course, it's for sure he did.’

“I seem to know what you're thinking, Your Majesty. Please come with me obediently and I will remove the barrier built around your spirit Animal.”

Ethelyne. “I'll follow you, release the barrier.”

Harvey smiled sweetly. “I'm not stupid, Your Honor. I won't let go of the barrier before we get to the kingdom, so please come with me or your Animal will die in the prey of demonic beasts.”

Ethelyne gritted her teeth holding in anger, she took a deep breath and threw it away. “I'll be back!” Ethelyne pulls Laurie's hand and walks Harvey in from behind.

‘I have successfully carried out the mission, Your Majesty. The rest is left to you.’

“I'm sorry, Master. It's all my fault.” Laurie plays her fingers scared.

Ethelyne who was sitting leisurely on the sofa glanced at him at a glance, she let out a long sigh. “Go to the corner of the room and contemplate your mistake, I'll leave for a while. Don't go out anywhere, or those damn demons will prey on you.” Ethelyne stood up and walked out.

When he opened the door, he saw a maid dressed in maid clothes with deer horns on her head. “Loreen? Why are you here?”

“I've solved my problem, Princess. That's why I came back here,” replied the girl named Loreen.

“Really? How's your family doing now? And where's Meli? I haven't seen him since.” Ethelyne cuddled looking for Meli who had not seen the trunk of her nose.

Loreen looked up slightly in order to be able to look at her employer's face. “Do you not know? Meli has been executed for neglecting to look after you.”

“What?? Who executed it??” ethelyne was surprised.

Loreen looked down again. “Sorry, Princess. I can't tell you.”
