The Seed of the Heir

The Seed of the Heir
Chapter 24

"Come, eat a lot, Vania. Let's get big fast" Susi told her daughter as they gathered at the dinner table. Susi put a lot of rice and side dishes on a plate owned by Vania.

Vania bent her face. He would most not like it if Susi asked him to eat a lot. "Already, Mom. Enough's enough! I can't finish all this food," upset Vania.

"Can! Surely you can," said Susi with a face as young as staring at Vania.

While Herman just kept quiet while playing his spoon and fork without wanting to put the food in his mouth. Susi was upset to see her husband's behavior this morning and she again grumbled.

"Why else are you, my friend? Why is the food just being played! Virna will follow suit like that!" sullen Susi while sitting in her chair.

"I'm sorry." Herman put his spoon and fork back then exhaled heavily. "I'm thinking of Dea. I hope he's okay there" Herman continued.

Susi grunted in annoyance. "Dea again, Dea again! I'm sure he's fine there. Why do you think of him anyway? After she had a good life with her husband, I was sure she would never remember you as her brother" Susi said.

"It can't be like that, Susi. I'm sure Dea will never forget me as her brother" replied Herman.

Just at that moment, Dea arrived at their residence. He stood right in front of Susi's door and then said his greetings before entering the house.

"Isn't that Dea?" pekik Herman while linking his eyebrows looked at Susi. Not only Herman, Susi was no less surprised.

"Yes, you're right. Why is he here? Is it possible .. oh, no!" exclaim Susi.

Dea arrived in the room with a disheveled face. The girl's appearance looks disheveled and her eyes are still puffy. Realizing that, Herman immediately got up and approached Dea.

"Why are you, Dea? Are you all right? Then where's your husband?" Herman looked around the room behind Dea. He was looking for Julian. Unfortunately, he did not see the man anywhere.

"Julian has spoken talaq to me, Brother," Dea said, sobbing.

Herman grabbed Dea by the shoulder and led her to an empty chair in the room.

"Sit down first, Dea. Just explain to us what really happened to you" Herman continued.

Dea sat in the chair wiping her tears.

"Why did Julian suddenly divorce you? Does it have anything to do with your unholy self, Dea?" asked Susi who was impatient to listen to the explanation of the girl.

Dea nodded her head slowly. "Yes, Brother. Julian couldn't accept me for who I was. After knowing the truth, Mas Julian immediately divorced me" Dea said.

"Yes, God!" Susi patted her forehead. He was upset that the girl had to reunite with her little family. Though all this time he was so expecting Dea to immediately go away and not interfere with his life with Herman and Virna.

"Mas Julian's side will be here soon to talk about our problem, Brother," Dea said to Herman who had been staring at him with a sad look.

"For what? Don't tell me they want us to compensate for your wedding expenses, yeah!" sidelines Susi with round eyes.

Dea shook her head slowly. "I don't know, Brother. They just said they wanted to meet you guys and sort out our problems."

"Yes, God! Somehow I feel sure that Julian's extended family just wants to get us some compensation! But, hopefully not! Where do we get that kind of money trying?" susi grumbled with her hands crossed on her chest.

"When my hunger is gone!" Susi again snorted in annoyance. "Now you've proven it, Dea! No man ever really loved you, including Julian. The man you've always admired."

Dea did not dare to answer. He fell silent while bowing his head to the floor. So did Herman, the man also seemed resigned to the destiny that would approach his small family.
