Grandpa, grandma and Wulan momentarily exchanged glances, of course with a beating heart.
Wulan knew that one day this would happen. Ready not ready he had to face her. He was sure that his Lord would give a way out of every problem.
He inhaled a deep breath before finally approaching the pair.
"Since when have you kept this Wulan?" ask grandpa while showing the Qur'an in his hands.
"About 5 months ago grandpa." reply Wulan steady. He is ready if he has to be scolded by a partner before him.
"Force Wulan if possible this would make grandpas and grandmas angry at Wulan. But does not every human being have full rights in making a choice? It's all about faith." Wulan said calmly, even staring at the two intensely.
"Why didn't you tell us that time? Keeping big things in the space of 5 months, is not a short time." asked grandpa again.
"At that time, Wulan was really not ready pa, ma. Forgive Wulan."
"If we don't break through your room, maybe until now we'll never know the secret you're hiding Wulan." the grandma who had been silent since then finally made a sound.
"Grandma, please forgive Wulan." for the umpteenth time Wulan apologized to the two, until she grasped Grandma's wrinkled hand.
Wulan who was increasingly overwhelmed with guilt, was now downcast.
"If you have said this to the grandpa since long ago, then the grandpa will follow the path you choose this Wulan."
Instantly Wulan raised his head staring at the old couple in turn. As if he could not believe what he had just heard.
"Ma_i mean grandpa?" even Wulan's voice seemed to be stuck in the esophagus, when saying that.
"Grandpa, like you, wants to study this book."
"What does Grandpa really say?"
True what God says, God will not test you beyond your means.
"Are you just going to hug your grandpa a Wulan?" grandma asked which made Wulan instantly recall the presence of the woman beside her grandpa.
He then unraveled the embrace with his grandpas, then turned to look at the grandma and soon hugged her.
"Grandma is also like the Grandpa Wulan, wants to study the book. Will you teach us?" said Grandma while rubbing Wulan's long hair.
The girl broke down her embrace and nodded at the grandma.
"In shaa Allah Wulan will help the grandma and the grandpa. Wulan has a convert friend. If Wulan's willing to meet my friend."
"We agree. Faster is better." said grandpa.
The three of them embraced each other.
Grandpa and grandma did not expect if finally through the intermediary of her granddaughter, both of them could find a new light.
His heart was given flexibility in accepting something that was once considered contradictory.
Tears trickled back through Wulan's smooth cheeks. He did not think God was so good to him.
He considers new doing good as a fingernail, but God has rewarded him with something beyond that.
It is true, we should not be prejudiced about things that do not necessarily happen.
Continue to have a good faith in your Lord, and Allah will follow your prejudices.
