Shortly after, Laura's mother came with a tray containing snacks and cold drinks. He presents it at the table, and invites Wulan to taste it.
The girl smiled and nodded. Because he felt thirsty, he could not hesitate to gulp the refreshing cold drink. Then taste the cookies.
Mama Laura looks happy Wulan behaves as she is, not shy cat like other people who visit.
Meanwhile outside, Salman noticed a white car parked near the front porch of the house. He guessed that it was a Wulan car. I don't know why his heart is beating so fast.
"Only meeting that strange girl can make my heart beat? Have I caught a strange thing?" murmured before deciding to get out of the car.
His steps stopped when he saw his mother and Wulan talking. It looks familiar, but rarely meets. The two women were unaware of Salman's presence.
"Assalamu'alaikum" Salman said after standing near his mother and Wulan.
"Wa'alaikumussalam." reply the two women were compact.
Mama Laura and Salman briefly looked at each other and then looked at Wulan. Both know if Wulan different beliefs, but why answer greetings. Although surprised, the child and mother refused to ask.
"Son Wulan has been waiting for you ever since. Said something to say." said mama Laura. After Salman kissed the back of his hand. He nodded, then sat down beside her.
"What do you want to say?"
'When there is a mother, why should you rush to ask? Why not just wait when your mom is not there? Wonder deh.' Wulan scrunched his forehead.
"Why are you quiet?" added Salman. Wulan also drew a smile before speaking.
"Oh, I just want to return these books, brother." said Wulan while giving a piece of the book, and also a paper bag.
"This is the same clothes that I borrowed yesterday." added Wulan again.
Mama Laura frowned, then opened the contents of the paper bag.
"This is it. Sal's mama's robe."
Salman grimacing.
"Salman used to say ma, if my mama's gamis I borrow the same friend. Yeah that's a robe."
"Actually Wulan here also does not just want to return books and clothes, but there are other things" said Wulan.
"What's that?" salman asked casually.
"I want to go abroad. Worked there. Forgive Wulan, if ever make the same mistake brother Salman." said Wulan while looking down.
DEG!
Salman's heart stopped beating. He did not expect the girl in front of him would go far.
Although only a few times he met, and in an unintentional state, made his heart feel throbbing pain.
'Why does my heart feel like this? sore. Don't I just have to be happy, because there's no more strange women bothering me?' salman wondered.
Silence enveloped the room. Mama Laura who saw the facial expressions of the two could conclude if they were being overwhelmed by feelings of anxiety. Finally, he spoke up to break the silence.
"When are you going, son?"
"Near Auntie's night." Wulan lifted her face, trying to smile even though it felt heavy.
"Why not work here. We'll help you find work."
"Thank you Auntie. Wulan wants to get a job purely from his own efforts." - lies Wulan.
Of course he will not tell the real reason he went abroad. If you want, he can work at his Daddy's company.
Mama Laura smiled, proud of Wulan's reason. Salman, however, did not respond. He wanted to talk more, but his tongue was a bit dull.
"May you be a successful person. What is your goal, can be accomplished. Forgive me too if something is wrong with you." said Salman, as Wulan was about to say goodbye.
Wulan breathed a sigh of relief, finally Salman wanted to say something for him. Perhaps that sentence was the last sentence he heard from the mouth of his puja man.
"Thank you for your sincere prayer."
