The Story of the Children of the Juragan
40. Daddy Inquiries

Wulan frowned looking at Leon's car parked in front of his house. He remembered that he had ignored the phone and messages from his friend. He finally went into the house.

"Hi." greet Wulan with her friendly smile. Even though he still thinks about Salman's speech earlier.

Both his parents and Leon looked at him expressionlessly. Makes the girl look wrong.

"Where are you Wulan?" ask Daddy.

"Having picked up the car at the workshop, and this, Wulan shopping." the girl raised both her hands, revealing her groceries.

"Do you really believe in new understanding?" ask Daddy again.

"Honey." mommy touched her husband's arm softly, because the man asked with great decisiveness. Mommy just wants to talk about everything.

While Wulan seemed surprised by his Daddy's question which was like an arrow that shot and hit the target.

Wulan is still in the learning stage, not yet to the level of belief. But almost 50 percent, he was able to absorb what was contained in the books he read a few days ago. And he leaned more on what was contained in the book.

However, given the words of Salman earlier, he tried to convince his heart. Is it because she loves Salman? so that he also loved the understanding of the man. Or is it all from God's plan for him, that he does not yet know.

"Why are you silent Wulan?" ask his Daddy again which makes him jerk in surprise.

"Wulan still believes in our understanding of Daddy." replied Wulan while sitting on the empty sofa.

He put his paper bag next to his feet. Fear and anxiety increasingly covered his heart.

"We live in a house, not to be divided, let alone about beliefs. Daddy doesn't want that to happen."

Wulan nodded in response to his Daddy remark, although inwardly neither could promise.

"From tomorrow, you help Daddy take care of the company. You said you wanted to learn business, right?"

"Yes Dad." replied Wulan briefly.

They also talked. Don't forget Leon asked Wulan, why he hadn't picked up the phone, and didn't return the message.

Wulan also explained with the same reason, as when her Daddy asked earlier.

After almost an hour of conversation, Leon finally resigned. Wulan's family drove her to the doorstep. Then they went back into the house.

"Remember Wulan, we must defend our faith" Daddy said once again before turning into his study. While Mommy followed Wulan who walked up the stairs.

"Here mommy help you" said mommy while grabbing a few paper bags to the left of Wulan's hand.

The two walked hand in hand until the girl's room without a word.. Mommy then put the paper bag that was brought earlier, on the bed.

"Darling, you shop this much whatever it is?" mommy opened one of the paper bags out of curiosity.

"New clothes." great-granddaughter mommy, while shrugging that shoulder and unfurling it.

Then grab another paper bag and do the same. He scrunched his forehead when all the contents of the paper bag were long clothes and pants all.

"This is why your tumben buy clothes and pants all fat ayu? Don't you usually dislike it because you're tired of wearing it?"

"Lately Wulan is cold mom, so I decided to buy long clothes." lied Wulan.

Although mommy knew that her son was lying, she did not want to judge him immediately.

"You're not hiding something from mommy, are you?" Wulan nodded.

"Seriously?" ask mommy while staring intensely at Wulan's eyeballs, so that makes the girl turn her eyes on the window. People who lie can be known from the radiance of his eyes. Like Wulan back then.

"What man named Salman made you turn out like this?"
