I read a message that turned out to be from a friend of mine named Fuad. He was a roommate when the cottage first. He commented on my WA status.
{Wonten by ngriki? wonten ngrika, mriko} kulo
(You here? Wait there, I'm there.)
{Ngeh. With Kang mriki?}
Reply me. But not read by my friend. He seemed to be heading straight to the place where I enjoyed breakfast. Before long appeared a man wearing shorts and a party shirt. He even held a toddler in front of him. And one more kid sitting in front of his motorbike.
"Thunder Gang!" His greeting when I saw I was enjoying a coffee that for me was too sweet. Maybe I am used to making coffee by Sekar who always fits on the tongue.
"Kang Fuad's.... Well, it's successful now." I said while receiving a helping hand and holding the tiny hand of a toddler in his carry. One curly-haired daughter was also led on her right side.
"Ah, this njengan... Successfully bring the matic motor. "the answer.
Ah he doesn't know, for me he's more successful. Because in view of the hair and eyes of children who come with her can be ascertained if it is the fruit of his heart.
"It looks like he really did what he did at the lodge." My temptation.
Since almost every event or Kang Fuad crosses paths with Muntiah, he will tremble and misbehave. At night he often mentions the name mbak Tiah or Muntiah. One of the lodge security officers who always put on a jutek face when meeting us santri putra.
"Yes thank God smoothly production of the next generation of the nation. But in fact married is not as beautiful as in the movie Love verses. Don't think handsome enough, Alim can be happy. Real tiger expression so a cat after marriage then I feel kang." Clearly at length while confirming the position of his child in the sling.
We finally talked near the stop. But one news back made me have to think where to stay. When a counter attendant met us the passengers who had been restless were waiting for the bus we were waiting for.
"Mr, mother. If you want to leave tonight we have to over to another bus. Our bus is in a breakdown. Tomorrow morning is ready to go." Said the man who had been busy with his phone.
I'm stunned. But Kang Fuad offered to stay at his house.
"Stay in my house. Tomorrow morning I'll drop you here." Kang Fuad.
"Awhile, I'll call my wife first. Worry he's worried." My speech.
I called Sekar.
"Assynogaic"
"Getishalam." Answer me.
"Sir, the bus is repaired. Mas take another bus or this mas stay at the home of his friend mas, Kang Fuad huh?" Ask me.
I'm afraid I made a wrong decision. Because yesterday Sekar's sister had said don't want to be over. Sometimes he would sit down. Not to mention the stops later almost at every stop. Long time to Palembang.
I was waiting for an answer from him.
"Say you wait for the bus tomorrow." Speak from across.
"Now 3 months pregnant Kang. Alhamdulillah.... But yes, this is if there are many children." Fuad said as he turned to the floor in the room where we were sitting. There were many toys scattered, even the walls were full of scribbles.
"Yahoo!" Shouted Fuad's wife.
I'm a little jolted. Out of shock, how could a woman scream before me as a guest.
"Snap...."
"Not staying a minute, Kang." Kang Fuad.
Instantly I rubbed my neck. I feel troubled to my friend. Especially at night, I saw Kang Fuad even painstakingly holding one of his children while serving me and some friends who came to know I was staying at Kang Fuad's residence. And I know what Sekar feels like when every question from people is about children. I feel it today.
"How many kangs have you?" Ask me Faqih.
I pulled the corner of my lips in a forced manner.
"Still not have a chance like you guys, pray that soon you have a baby." Answer me briefly.
Suddenly the voice of kang Fuad's wife from inside made us interlock lyrics.
"Mas, his flask don't forget to be replenished." Her speech.
We got each other. Kang Fuad came with a plate of fried bananas. But Faqih who was the most ignorant, he deliberately disturbed Kang Fuad.
"Piye married for Love? Happy?" Faqih whispered while patting Kang Fuad's shoulder.
I punched Faqih's arm slowly. Worried Kang Fuad offended.
"Loh, I'm just happy. Quite quiet, I've got the reward." Kang Fuad said softly and half in a whisper. We chuckled at the answer that he might also be worried about hearing his wife.
I don't think, Tiah's mom is a santri. He also spent several years as a ndalem servant in the ponpes where we were. But apparently when married, she still fierce to her husband. I remember the story of Sayyidina Umar. Patient with his wife. Who does not know Sayyidina Umar. One of my friends is guaranteed to go to heaven. He dedicated his day to public service. The night is used for worship.
I was finally only able to be grateful, the silver lining of my broken bus is so that I am grateful for my condition that currently has no children. Kang Fuad, has many children. But he was given the ordeal of a fierce wife and likes to nag. Even though economically I see it above me.
There's one thing I see in the household story of Kang Fuad and me. We understand each other and understand the shortcomings and advantages of our respective partners. It is very supportive of the durability of a household. The journey of married life is mostly not according to dreams. So that when it happens, it takes the breadth of patience of a husband and wife in order to be able to herd the household ark to the coast of happiness.
"There is a story that the Prophet Muhammad said, 'Whoever (husband) is patient for his wife's bad behavior, then Allah gives him a reward comparable to the reward of the Prophet Ayyub as for the bala’ (trial) that befalls him. And whosoever (wife) is patient in the wickedness of her husband, Allah will bestow upon her the reward of Asiyah the wife of Ramesses." Said Kang Fuad while whispering to the ears of Faqih who is still single because he is still looking for the same S2 and the same Javanese.
That night we chatted for quite a while until the message from Sekar made me smile.
{Mas, Kangen. Call when your friends come home. Or video call.... }
I feel the same way, too, brother.
