The War of the Demon Controllers

The War of the Demon Controllers
Pre - Arc Gem Pomegranate

Chapter 20's

Before the horse-drawn carriage departed, Skard told the others to bury the corpses. Skard initially said he only buried the bodies of the servants and let the bodies of the barbarian tribes rot and be eaten by wild animals. But Daedalus refused and buried the barbarians alone. Toras stared at all the bodies buried carefully.

They spent until noon to bury before continuing the journey. Before they left, Skard gave them all his cowboy hats.

"For disguise," said Skard. "if you don't want to be counted as slaves, you'd better use it."

Everyone followed and they boarded the horse-drawn carriage. A long horse carriage with a sparkling white tent was pulled by two horses. Yvonne offers to be a coachman but Tael offers to accompany her. At first Yvonne refused to say she could do it alone, but gave up on Tael's stubbornness.

"So can we talk about your suicide, Tael?" tanya Yvonne broke the silence.

"Yes ...." Tael scratched his head, confusedly responding. Plus Yvonne looked at Tael deeply.

Yvonne sighed. "But thank you, Tael. Maybe if my position was hit from behind, that barbarian must have broken my back. You're a savior."

Tael chuckled, his face flushed red. "Hehe, it's nothing!"

"But I salute Daedalus, he so spontaneously moved down helping against the barbarians, so brave," continued Yvonne. His eyes were twinkling about Daedalus. Tael who had been chuckling, was now silent. "he was so great, chasing the barbarians into the forest and slashing them one by one. You see, isn't your brother like cutting grass killing all those barbarians?!"

"You like it?" tanya Tael frontal. I don't know why his heart hurts.

Yvonne was surprised, she laughed awkwardly before replying. "If you ask a woman from the north end of Hervarar to the south of the Libion border, which woman does not admire the figure of your brother, Tael!"

As Tael moved into the carriage, Yvonne asked him where he was going. "I'm sick," said Tael coldly. "pain me, maybe."

Tael joined the others and the horse-drawn carriage continued on with only a horse-driver.

The horse-drawn carriage walked through the forest with tall trees. Inside the carriage was Lagertha who sat gracefully and tough - none of the flocks of Daedalus dared to greet her - in contrast to Yogot who sat in disarray as well as Toras and the children who played on the floor of the carriage horse.

Daedalus smiled at him, he did not expect Toras to be so familiar with children. He looked at Tael who entered the horse carriage that was warmly welcomed by Skard. Isolde also asked about his injuries.

The most interesting thing to Daedalus was Lupan. He disagreed with Lupan's cold action of not helping the horse-drawn carriage, but he also could not deny that Lupan is a charismatic figure who can make them in this horse carriage and lead to the city of Goldgate, to become part of the Valaan Guard. If the negotiations were left to Daedalus, he might just receive a bag of gold and just ride a horse-drawn carriage to a nearby stopover. He has to learn a lot from her.

Toras turned into a creepy monster figure, he chewed—tick—belly Riel and the other two children laughed in fear. Tael.

"How to become a Borrower?" ask Tael.

"Borrower?" Toras confusion.

He pointed at Daedalus. "I want to have the Pomegranate Gem and be able to use the same power as Daedalus."

Daedalus was surprised Tael didn't call him brother.

"Then give me the devil you have!" Tael exclaimed loudly. The whole horse carriage was shocked to hear that. Tael regulated his breathing. "Try giving it to me!"

Toras sighed and gave Tael a Pomegranate Gem. "It's a Pomegranate Gem with a fire demon, try to borrow its power if you can."

Tael. The Pomegranate Gem is Reddish Green on the stone. He grasped the Pomegranate Gem and closed his eyes. He is trying to find a feeling, connection or direction. He felt something, but it was so delicate, gentle and distant.

He tried to talk to her, yelling as loud as possible, but whether her voice did not reach or the figure did not care about her, nothing changed.

"Lend me your power, damn it!" Tael exclaimed loudly.

Daedalus patted her on the shoulder, worried about what had happened to his sister. "Forget it, Tael."

"Yes, forget it," Lupan said. "there is no way a person like you can be heard by demons. Even your brother only uses the lowest Devil, Slime, so listen."

"There's no need to speak rudely" Skard said. He got into the subject "but what he said was true, Tael. Being a Devil Borrower also has its level."

Skard took out a Pomegranate Gem. The color is the same as Skard's. Red blood with green spots on the skin. "I've been a Devil Borrower for decades, ever since I've been actively wandering around Hervarar. But look, the demon that I borrowed his power is only at the Green, intermediate level."

Daedalus took out his Delicious Jewel. It was red all over. "How do you see the level?"

Skard looked at Toras. "It seems like this master knows more than me."

Toras nodded and began to explain.

"In this world, the Devil is divided into three elements. Pure, Dark and Natural Elements." Toras pointed to the Gem of Daedalus Pomegranate. "For the Devils in your Divine Jewel, he has no elements, has not evolved. Hence the color was only red, indicating he was at the lowest level."

"And speaking of colors, every demon contracted to the Pomegranate Jewel would change the color of the Pomegranate Gem depending on its demonic element and level. There are four tiers of Pomegranate Gem color change. Red, Green, Gold and Purple. The owner of the Red and Green Pomegranate Jewels can be found among the Knights of Hervarar but for the Gold Pomegranate Gem, even among the greatest Knights of Hervarar - even only a few have seen it firsthand. Then there was one more level, the Purple Pomegranate Gem. But reportedly only owned by people from the Devil's Guild."

"Devil Alliance?" ask Daedalus.

"People who study the Pomegranate Gem and the gathering place of the Demon Controllers." Toras explained briefly. "But again continuing the matter of the level of the Pomegranate Gem and its color, the Pomegranate Gem also changes depending on the element."

Isolde offers a drink to Toras. "Drink, sir."

Toras drank. "Thank you." "There are three elements that counter each other, Pure Elements will change the color of Pomegranate Gem to shiny white and Dark elements will change Pomegranate Gem to pitch black, then there is the Natural Element. Fire, Frozen, Water and Wind that will change the color of the Pomegranate Gem adjust the color of the Natural Element."

"And all Demon Borrowers must learn to borrow from the lowest level first. Even the Devil Guild people did the same." Skard took out another Pomegranate Gem. This time it was Blood Red, signifying the lowest level demon with the fire element. "If you want to be a Borrower, then Anglar Saxo's Pomegranate Jewel is for you."

Tael's eyes sparkled at him, but Lupan cut their conversation.

"Who said the decision to give the Pomegranate Jewel should be for him?" ketus Lupan's. "His mind won't be of any use. Give me the Gems."
