Chapter 5's
Daedalus besieged three soldiers, they encircled himself and slowly shrank the circle of siege. On the other hand Toras threatened his life with Greg pointing a sword at him, making sure Toras could not help Daedalus. But even though Toras was not held hostage like that, Daedalus was not sure Toras would be able to help much, proved once a sword fight with Gallam Soldier, Toras immediately lost his balance.
The Gallam warrior stepped forward more than any other warrior, he fiddled with his sword. “You know something funnier than you being trapped like this rat, slave?” said Soldier Gallam. Daedalus did not answer. “You who were a slave saved another slave. It was the most ridiculous joke I've ever seen.”
The other soldiers laughed at hearing that.
“You talk a lot,” said Daedalus annoyed. He looked at the situation when he would move against. But seeing that his three opponents were carrying swords while he was only armed with slime, he waited for the right time.
“But that's the truth, Slave,” added Warrior Gallam. “Your life is a joke! And your life will end here. Attack him guys!”
Two newly arrived soldiers flanked Daedalus from two directions. The sword took off and Daedalus borrowed the entire power of the Demon Slimonoid to envelop his body with a slime. A second later he was enveloped in slime.
Daedalus did not know the durability of the red slime that enveloped his body, but he could feel his body light. He waited for the exact timing as the two swordsmen were about to split him in half, Daedalus dodged and smacked them both in the face.
They fell toward where Gallam's soldiers were. Daedalus now turned his back on the entrance opening, he could have turned back and survived this unfortunate situation. But Toras being held hostage as well as Daedalus's already caught identity trying to rebel will only bring doom to his family or even to Riel himself.
There was a crackling of steps from the stairway which meant that there were more soldiers coming. The blurred option is out of the existing option. All Daedalus could do now was fight and win, as well as prepare to welcome the soldiers who were soon to arrive. So he tightened both his legs and fought back.
“Listen to those footsteps, slave, it's your approaching death move,” Gallam said. He advanced with two other warriors. “or would you prefer me to take your life? Not want? We come!”
The three of them advanced simultaneously. Their swords lay on Daedalus. Daedalus dodged to the left on the first attack, and the second soldier greeted him and Daedalus again dodged to the right. However, the Gallam Warrior was ready to welcome him there. Daedalus was not yet fully grounded, the sword of Gallam Warrior pierced Daedalus' chest.
Daedalus repelled his stab with a slime-covered hand. It worked! Gallam's stab slowed down giving Daedalus time to react again. Daedalus was so happy to see the surprised face Gallam displayed.
Daedalus caught the sword of the Gallam Warrior and scoffed at him, “Three soldiers lost against a slave, it was a really funny joke.”
Gallam's soldiers clucked in annoyance. The two of them fought over the sword and exchanged blows. But every blow the Gallam Warrior can't break through Daedalus' flexible slime.
Daedalus had barely managed to take over the sword of the Gallam Warrior if only he had not felt the two blades slashing at him from two directions. Daedalus sensed the deceleration of the slashes of the two warriors behind him, but slowing down didn't mean it wasn't until. Daedalus tried to escape the situation and released Gallam's Soldier, but Gallam's Soldier grabbed him so he could not escape.
“Now cut this slave in half!” shouted soldier Gallam.
Daedalus wriggled, yet it only added to the sharp blade of the sword further penetrating his slime layer. Time moved slowly, he felt like a hero who was at the end of his death.
He can see Toras still being held hostage by Greg. He could see the Gallam Warrior shouting loudly for him to be slashed in half. He could see the two warriors who slashed at him pressing down on their swords like a kitchen chef pressing a knife into garlic.
“Now!” A familiar woman's voice caught his attention. The sound came from the footsteps they heard earlier.
A fat man smashed into the soldier on his left. A thin man stabbed the neck of the soldier in his right. Daedalus did not waste the golden opportunity, he immediately strangled the Gallam Warrior and slammed him to the ground.
Gallam's soldiers crashed, he tried to resist but Daedalus immediately punched him in the face and stopped his movements. The fat man who had hit the soldier on his left was restraining the movement of the soldier. He recognized the man, he was Yogot, his fellow slave.
Then he looked at the people who had just arrived. He knows them all. The one who shouted earlier was Yvonne, she was holding a celurit in her hand. On his side was Tael with the same weapon. Then the skinny man who stabbed the soldier earlier was Lupan, he carried a small dagger.
“What are you doing here?” daedalus asked in confusion.
“You were right, bang, should father and mother come with you to save Riel, but they are not,” said Tael. “I'm sorry I wasn't on your side before. But after brother left, I immediately asked Yvonne and the others for help.”
“And you knew we'd be here?”
Tael shrugged his shoulders. “I'm guessing you're going to Gallam in the Old Tower, and well, I'm right.”
Yvonne moved towards him and put the celurit on Gallam's neck.
“Do not!” ban Daedalus when he learns of Yvonne's intentions.
Yvonne nodded following without continuing. Lupan on the other hand approached Yogot who was holding a soldier. He took the soldier's sword and brought him closer to Daedalus and the others.
“We have a problem, Daedalus,” said Yvonne. He pointed towards Toras who was still being held hostage by Greg.
Yvonne looked towards Daedalus. “Speaking meekly is not my forte,” said Yvonne. “So does the quiet Lupan and Yogot who talk a lot. Tael is also out of calculations, the rest is you. The grizzled man over there is your friend, you're the only one who can persuade that soldier to let him go.”
Daedalus took a breath. Yogot the thickhead cheers him up, “You can, Daedalus!” Yeah, he can do it.
Daedalus began to persuade. “Greg, your name, Greg, ‘kan?”
The soldier nodded.
“Greg, we don't want to hurt anyone here, we just want information about where Riel and the girls you brought are being held. That's it.”
“Tell that to the soldier you killed!” Gallam exclaimed even though Yvonne's celurit was stuck to his neck. “You release him Greg and these slaves will slaughter us like pigs!”
Greg. He drew his sword closer to Toras' neck. “OK Gallam, if he kills you, I will kill this guy first.”
“Stop and don't!” daedalus. He doesn't want anyone to die. “If I want to kill you, Greg, I've been killing you since I took your sword. But I didn't do that because I didn't want anyone killed.”
Greg started to loosen his sword. He looked at Gallam who advised him not to give up and looked at Daedalus with a reassuring face.
“He is of noble heart, lord warrior,” added Toras. “if you let me go, then you will be safe. But if you kill me, God knows you'll also come to hell with me.”
Finally Greg releases Toras from his hostage. “O-okay then, now release Gallam and the other soldier.”
Daedalus told Yvonne to release Gallam, and Yvonne made Gallam stand up and that's it. “Now tell me where the girls are being held?” he told Gallam.
Gallam replied by giving a cold look to Yvonne. “Kill me slave!”
“Good if that's what you want,” reply Yvonne.
Daedalus immediately took Gallam from Yvonne. “Stop, I said no one has to die here.”
“He did not give us information,” obviously Yvonne. “we have to give an example by killing him so that other soldiers want to tell.”
“A-I will tell,” said Greg. “after your duel in the field, we were ordered to bring the slaves it—.” Yvonne gave Greg a sharp look. “I mean, those girls we brought to the basement of the Lord's Residence.”
“Cih!” Yvonne. He looked at Lupan and gestured.
Lupan pierced the soldier held by Yogot. He wriggled for a moment before exhaling his last breath. Greg panicked to see it. “This is not what you guys say.”
“Hervarar is finished if all his soldiers filled you.” Toras clutched Greg's back head, one of his hands held the Pomegranate Gem and immediately a huge fire burned it. Greg tried to put out the fire on his head, he ran all the way here and there. As he approached the side of the Tower Roof, Toras kicked him down. After that he coughed and his face turned increasingly pale.
Yvonne slashed the celurite towards Gallam, but Daedalus immediately repelled it.
“What the fuck are you all!” daedalus. He didn't have time to react to seeing this murder.
“Ending them, what do you think?” ask Yvonne. But Daedalus' face had answered his question. “You really intend to let them go, Daedalus?”
“It was not a wise decision,” Toras added.
“If you don't want to do it, let me.” Lupan comes with his celurite, but Daedalus protects Gallam just as he protects precious objects. Gallam made a small giggle.
“See he's laughing! I'll rip out his tongue.” Lupan pushes Daedalus aside, but with his thin body against Daedalus' athletic body, he loses strength. “Your head bumped?”
Yvonne, Lupan, Toras as well as Tael and Yogot stared at Daedalus in silence. But Daedalus shook his head. “We slaves are humans, so are these warriors. You, me and him both have the right to live.”
Tael drew closer. “I agree with you, bang, but taking it off will make our intention get caught by Lord and will make Lord wrath.”
“No is no, Tael,” says Daedalus sure. Lupan scratched his head in disbelief. “we'll tie him to Istal, then we'll save Riel and run away from the city. A few days later the city warriors will find him in Istal and all survived.”
“You will regret your actions, Daedalus,” Toras said resignedly.
