TINI SUKETI
48. Efforts To Survive

Tini was wearing her best clothes that morning. He woke up early to wash the clothes he used to do in the afternoon. At six all her clothesline was up and neatly clamped near the soup kitchen.

There were two people he would meet that day. One is a businessman who owns a palm oil plantation whose business is in Sumatra. The second was a mining businessman from the eastern region.

The two met Tini once. At that time did not have time to chat too long because Agus dominated the conversation more. But the boss asked Tini to save the second contact in order to return to the prospect of another time.

That morning he plans to offer unit link life insurance. Where the products he offers have protection and investment value.

“Mbak Tini,” call Ayu. The new employee girl arrived shortly after Tini.

“Yes? Uh, ayu .. I haven't been able to teach you this. I still have a lot of work to do. This morning I went out to see Mr. Wimar. After meeting Mr. Wimar, I want to see Mr. Hamit.” Tini spoke while inserting her newly printed papers.

“Mbak Tini, yesterday I was really ushered home with Mr. Agus,” said Ayu, looking at Tini from a corner table that had long been empty.

Tini was silent for a moment then looked up at Ayu. “Bener ushered? Good if so,” said Tini back to continue his work. “I go first, yes.” Tini held her bag and stepped out of the room.

“Mbak Tin,” call Ayu again.

Tini stopped and looked. “Yes? Don't be confused, Yu. As long as there are no customers who want to be prospected, you read the office database first. It's a computer over there. It's not in-password, kok.” Tini pointed to the computer that Mail often uses.

“No, Ma'am. I want to nyampein, if Mr. Agus offers to be his assistant.” Ayu stood with her arms raised in front of her body.

This time, Tini twisted her body staring at Ayu. That girl is young. University graduates in Semarang. He's only 23 years old. Her face is sweet and has a yellow skin.

“You want?” ask Tini.

Ayu nodded. “If Mbak Tini does not mind,” said Ayu.

Tini took a breath and shook her head steadily. “Neg. I don't mind. Good though. Agus is helping now. He won't pokelekin me on,” said Tini. “According to you, Mr Agus is good?” ask Ayu Tini.

Ayu who had been clenching her mouth since then, revealed a faint smile. “Good, Ma'am. I like to talk and ask lots of questions about the city of Semarang. He said he had never been there.” Ayu's eyes widened as she said that.

“Everytime take Mr. Agus for a walk to Semarang. He would want to,” said Tini. “I go first, yes. Send a message to Mail and Bowo, I can come back here later. So don't ‘mail’. Okay?”

“Mail what, Mbak?” yelled Ayu from inside the room. Tini stepped outside.

“Say by kayak it!” sahut Tini with a shout.

Agus has never been to Semarang? Huh! Correct guess. Agus was too similar to him. Too chatty and high prestige. And it turns out their taste in women is the same. Ayu is sweet and simple. Tini liked the girl from the beginning. If Ayu is asked to be Agus' assistant, he does not mind at all. At least Agus busied himself with his new assistant. Her ex-boyfriend named Mira was not to worry about Tini.

Yesterday Tini had a message on the office security guard. Finally, after a long time working in the office, the security guard can carry out the most meritorious task in addition to locking the office door in the afternoon.

The Ojek he was riding arrived in front of the office which was in the ranks of the shop. The office is small. But who would have thought it was one of the branch offices belonging to the mining company. Without the nameplate of the pamphlet. The goal is to avoid taxes.

His name is Mr. Hamit. The result he was mining was lead. Listen, Mr. Hamit is not stingy. Because his wealth is overflowing.

“I'd like to see Mr. Hamit. There's been an appointment at eight this morning. He said it must be eight in the morning, because Mr. Hamit wants to leave the office at nine.” Tini talks to a woman at the reception desk. The woman still wears a hair roller on her bangs.

“Oh, I promise, yes? Want what? Sell insurance?” asked the woman looking at Tini with a slightly trifling look.

It is no wonder that insurance employees often get rejection everywhere. Asking people to give up a lot of money to buy an invisible object is not an easy thing.

“Iya, Ma'am. I brought a map like this for sure selling insurance. If I came earlier bring baskets early in the morning, it could be I sell tiwul or gatot.” Tini momentarily fell silent. Why bring Gatot the devil again, his mind.

“Pak Hamit inside. Jump in,” said the receptionist. The ladder is over there.” The woman showed me a simple staircase in the corner of the room.

Not until ten minutes, Tini had knocked on the door of Mr. Hamit's room which produced Tin. The man was alone in his room and was on the phone when Tini arrived. With the phone still stuck to his ear, Mr. Hamit asked Tini to come in.

“Inter, yes, Mbak.” Mr. Hamit said that while looking at Tini at a glance.

That morning Tini spent an hour just hearing a man call with his business partner. Tini sat neatly with a best insurance illustration she made. After an hour, Mr. Hamit simply flipped through the paper he was shoving.

“Later in the afternoon I will notify you. This number is not much, though. Two billion for life insurance with so many benefits. Including a little for me. Afternoon, over four o'clock I call you. Your name is Tini, right? Not married, huh?” ask Mr. Hamit.

Tini shakes. “Not yet, Mr.” Tini replied politely despite being upset. Why bring status? What is the difference between selling insurance products to an unmarried agent?

Out of Mr. Hamit's office is almost twelve in the afternoon. Wanted to call Mr. Wimar but he hesitated. Maybe the guy is having lunch. But without wasting any time, Tini immediately headed for a large office building in the city center. He got on the bus and got off at the stop. With a little walk into the office, Tini managed to save costs.

It's as sure as he thought. Mr. Wimar was just out for lunch five minutes ago. The lobby of the office building was very spacious and many people passed by. Tini sat next to the standing banner and mica shelf containing many brochures containing company information located in one building.

Maybe the look of Tini looks really familiar as a marketing. His position that was too close to the standing banner even made him an easy target for people to ask. Just a moment Tini filled her lunch time by delivering an old man to the information. Explain the contents of the brochure to a grandfather with patience, until finally he was exhausted and threw his body on a long sofa without a backrest.

“Mbak Tini?” greet a middle-aged man with a young man next to him.

“Pak Wimar?” Tini immediately stood up to tidy up her clothes.

“Come, come with me to the office."
