Half a day circling to visit the nearest tourist attraction, Wibisono invited the three brothers to try out local culinary specialties. Hungry stomach and new food variants, the three brothers immediately nodded when Wibisono offered them lunch.
“This is the most typical menu here. Not to be missed,” said Wibisono while parking his vehicle in a dining area. “The name is rawon satan,” said Wibisono with a serious look.
Almost Tini said my god when Wibi said that. At first glance heard by Tini's ears, Wibisono like he was spying on his ex-girlfriend. He did not expect that Gatot had a brother relationship with rawon.
“Now we eat here, tonight we eat at home, yes. From here to my house first. Tomorrow morning, we leave for Cokro Village. So the answer is to go home to the Mothers tonight. How?” wibisono asked as he hugged Tini into the restaurant.
What else could Tini answer besides nodding in agreement? It seemed that Wibi had already taken more than half the burden of her life.
“I am curious about your birth village,” said Wibi. “It hasn't been home for a long time, has it? When was last?” ask Wibi.
The two of them were already sitting opposite Evi and Dayat inside the restaurant. Their order is being made and Dayat has not finished three bottles of tea cans.
“Mbak Tini last came home two years ago, Mas. If not wrong before working in insurance. Malem-malem. Back to Jakarta is also malem-malem. Sent and picked up by Pak Paijo. But relax, Mas. Tini's mother is not because of running away from debt. Mbak Tini is a legend of Cok—” Village
Dayat who has spent a lot of drinks, seems to have full energy to talk about her brother. But his speech was cut off because of Evi's pinch to her thigh under the table.
“Two years ago? Before working at Agus?” asked Wibisono, looking at Tini's face whose forehead was dotted with sweat. “Where is the knife?” ask Wibisono.
Tini opened her bag and thrust a small packet of tissue into Wibi's hand. The man took it and took out a sheet. Carefully, Wibi folded the tissue and bottled it into Tini's forehead.
“Iya, Mas. I last came home two years ago. It was because of the horrors of his sermon Mas Heru on the beach,” Tini said with a small laugh. He glanced at Wibi's hand that was still clutching the old tissue wiping his forehead.
Wibisono nodded small. Two years is not a short time. Can be able to not meet the family during that time, surely Tini has reasons and limitations.
Last night in Surabaya, the Wibisono family again entertained the three brothers with delicious food. Mr. Wibi repeatedly asked about Mr. Tini. His parents were okay to visit there. What can he do so that Tini is not reprimanded by his father. Mr. Wibi slightly urged Tini to give his father's mobile number so that he could talk by phone.
Tini desperately reassured Mr. Wibi that it was no big deal. Tini said she had told her father. He also confessed the same to Wibisono. Though ... he hasn't said anything.
Tini never spoke at length and seriously with her father. It feels more comfortable when he speaks directly. During this time, they exchanged news only through Dayat. Just a few words that his father said over the phone.
“Say don't eat late. If the pain is treated immediately. Don't hold.”
And that night, Tini was already standing in the doorway saying goodbye to the Wibisono family. Her future mother-in-law repeated the same message while rubbing her back. The message is about, ‘May be launched. No jealousy that often makes the bride and groom quarrel when the day is getting closer.’
"Kulo said goodbye, sir, Mom. Matur nuwun sanget sampun nampi kulo kaliyan rayi-rayi. Cuisineipun Ibu nggeh sekeco sanget. Kulone dados kangen kaliyan Ibuk'e. Mas Wibi niku bejo sanget taksih gadah tiyang sepuh ingkang yangkangep.” (I'm sorry, sir, Mom. Thank you for the welcome for me and my sisters. Cuisine's great. I miss my mother. Mas Wibi is lucky to still have complete parents.)
Tini and all of her sisters had already greeted all the members of the Wibisono family. And now he stands on the fence of the house with his hands still held by Mother Wibi. It feels haru. If only his mother was still alive, he would have been able to tell his mother that he was acquainted with the future in-laws who would accept him and his sisters well. Tini was sure her mother would have loved for her children to be welcomed warmly in the house.
"Lho, kok, koyo karo sopo wae to Nduk. Your crew kuwi karo adi-adimu lak meh dadi outgo. Suk neh menowo nagging Suroboyo kudu nginep kene yo. Ojo nang Hotel." (Kok, thank you like everyone else. Tini and her sisters will be family. Next time to Surabaya you have to stay here. Not in the hotel anymore.)
Mr. Wibisono still seems upset with his youngest son about where to stay. Tini and Wibisono only grimaced hearing the rest of the scolding.
"Ati-ati ning, yo. Ombong karo Wibi nek nggowo mobile ora banter-banter. Rong sasi ngkas outgo kene meh teko rono. Mugo-mugo paringi smoothly. You yo ojo ngoyo nek kerjo. Kowe yo iyo Bi. Ojo often flipped. Meh dadi nganten kuwi kudu. Ibu ki wis suwe lek nunggoni." (Be careful on the road. Tell Wibi not to speed the car. Two months later, the Wibis came home. Hopefully launched. You also do not get too tired. You too Bi, don't come here too often. Want to be a bride must be a lot of heart. I waited a long time.)
Wibisono's mother returned her messages. They were all on the side of the car. Evi and Dayat stood by holding their hands together, observing and listening to her sister's future in-laws speak.
"Remember, Mother diayemke mawon. Mbeto would estri teng car mboten wantun speeding.” (Yes-yes. Mother calm down. Bring the future wife in the car will not be mentioned.)
"Some ora ning Suroboyo? Sesuk meneh nek kudu suwe, ben iso mlaku-malaku adoh. Awakke dewe durung ono poto-poto nang Suramadu bridge." (Again in Surabaya? Next time if it comes should be longer let the streets further. We haven't got any photos on the Suramadu bridge.)
"Hardness, Ma'am. Jane nggih eman's. Saget dangu teng mriki. Niki mawon itungane taksih permit teng office. The angsal crew. Mugi dinten lintune saget mriki malih ingkang dangu Mbak.” (Some, Ma'am. Honey, it can't be here much longer. It's still a permit in the office. Not been paid leave. Hopefully next time you can visit longer.)
The family meeting that time, just got there. Wibi tells her family to take Tini and her sisters back to the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, this time Evi and Dayat precede Tini and Wibisono steps. The brothers were exhausted and full. Tini slows down steps when exploring the room corridor.
There was a little concern about Wibisono who would take them all to Cokro Village. Not worried about his father. But worried that Wibisono frowned when he saw how their lives in the village were.
“Why you?” asked Wibisono as they arrived in front of the room.
Tini smiled without looking at Wibi, then she shook her head. Wibisono held both of Tini's shoulders and twisted the woman's body facing him.
"Tin .. I'm kuwi ora popo. I'm wis nrimo sak kabehane. Ora need to worry about sing ora-ora." (Tin .. I'm okay. I have accepted everything. Don't worry too much.)
