Under The Rain's

Under The Rain's
Chapter 35—Dumped and Forgotten

In a series of stories of grief and regret, there is also a new color of friendship from two women who had always been feuding. Nadia tells Reva about Rafael's condition on the day of his escape with Kris, and how the condition continued to worsen until a week later. And the possibility that the man may not really recover to see the world as it was.

For Reva, of course, he felt no need to hear such heart-wrenching news. Nope. Not that Reva didn't care, but because he knew that he wouldn't be strong if he had to live with that painful fact. The more guilt he made, when he was told that the man he loved could be today or tomorrow died, while his marriage was only one step ahead of his eyes.

“Va, you have to come with us to the hospital.”

Erin's sentence just now sounded more like a punishment than a solicitation. Punishment, for Reva knew his mind would be greatly tormented to see Rafael being swayed at the boundary of consciousness, with faint visible signs of life between being and not being. Really, how can he get closer to the man, while he is very sure that he will not be able to leave him again. On the other hand, there was a promise he had to keep.

“I can't, Rin,” reply Reva resigned. “I won't be able to go there.”

“But, Va—”

“Rin, you have to understand. There's a heart I have to guard, ‘kan?”

“Va!” Nadia interrupted loudly. “You want to keep marrying her? Because what? You see what the consequences of that man's madness are?”

Reva fell silent, drowning as the two women who were sitting to the right and left turned her back full of question marks. He no longer knew what he wanted at the time. He no longer knows what is right and what is not. The events that happened lately really gave him a headache.

“Va ...” Nadia lowered her voice while stroking the soft back of the poor woman's hunchback next to her. “I know that you agreed to get married, but I also know that you don't love her. Please, Va, don't repeat the mistakes El made just yet.”

“Nadia's right, Va. You sure you will be happy when married just because you want to return the favor?” Erin also gave advice, while continuing to embrace Reva's sluggish-looking shoulders.

“But, Rin, if it wasn't for Kris, I wouldn't be alive today. He was the only one who was always present at the worst point of my life. He sacrificed a lot, Rin. Too many. Until I can rise again and start a new life.”

“But, Va—”

“You know, Rin, he's overtime during the night, just because he wants a life worth living for me. He fought all this time for me. She never gets tired of making me smile even when the world is not good. Even El was never that cool when we were in office first.”

“Iya, Va, I understand. Just stay, I think that's not the right reason to get married.”

“What is the right reason, Rin? Because love? I loved El for years ... never considered it too, ‘kan? Until I got tired of myself because what she discussed was always another woman ...”

“I'm sure, El is very sorry for sure if you have to lose you like gini.”

“Toooooo, Rin. Now that Kris is gone, in hopes that when he gets home, he can bring enough supplies for our wedding. Now tell me, Rin, what would happen if he came and I wasn't there for him? How does it feel if the person you fight all out, go so alone you leave for others?”

“I just hope, at least you think again.”

Reva didn't answer, and she didn't want to. There seemed to be no good way out for the confusion between them all at that time. Everything went wrong. The tangled yarn that has been convoluted until it decomposes does seem to need to be cut only the damaged part. Dumped and forgotten. Like Reva's past back then. It seems like there really is no way to save him without creating new problems. So, it is better to be discarded and forgotten.

Seeing Reva who remained firm with his stance made Erin and Nadia realize that they could not force it further. Finally, they reluctantly accepted Reva's decision to not betray her commitment to Kris. I don't know, even though the soul doesn't want to give up, but there are limits to everything.

Reva seemed ready to let the love he had nurtured evaporate for years, blending with the chemical elements in the air. Not wanting to hear his own heart, Reva seemed to not care what kind of marriage will be. At that time, the most important thing for him was to keep his promise, to wait for Kris until the man returned.

Nadia slammed the door of her hatchback car tightly while continuing to grunt and snort violently. “Crazy!!! That's so stubborn, girl! Why, anyway, everyone is stubborn!!!”

The gas pedal is stepped on until the car is growling, and the transmission lever is shifted in a hurry. Nadia also slammed the steering wheel like being possessed by a subtle creature. “Who's crazier, Rin? The guy who obviously has behavior like a psychopath, or the girl who wants to marry a psychopath!”

“Nad! Be careful in front of there bike!” Erin who was in the front passenger seat so stiffened to see Nadia who was behind the wheel, running her car recklessly like a drunk teenager. “Udahlah, Nad, we find another way,” he said soothing.

“What's the way, Rin? We have to dip his head in hot water to melt a little bit, right? Hard as an ice cube!”

“That's your psychopath, Nad!”

“You heard when he said what? He said he didn't want Bi Uma to worry. Who is Bi Uma, anyway? It was as if he was a doang that was considered family. Mama Viennese nangisin her day and night, you know! I never heard of his ex! Sally, deh!”

“I think the El was the hardest to talk to, it turns out that the stone-level girl is already the most god-level! Deserve them suhabatan, very suitable, dah!!”

“Nad, look out for something!”

“And why can I stuck among these stubborn creatures, Rin? My fault is the same universe?”

“Elu, anyway, threaten the El all first, use the police as well! Little lawyers, little criminal talk. If not, then they have been married from the time of year. Peace our lives now!!”

“Oh, is it all my fault now? If El ran away, my son didn't have a father, dong, Rin! Tauk, ah, dizzy!”

“Stay, Nad. If you are not the affair El, everything will not reach kayak gini.”

“Sih, Erin! At first, I didn't know if they were going out. Anyway, salahin El, dong, why is he still curious about me!”

“Any heat! It was clearly blacklisted!”

“Let's go, deh, lu! Yeah, that's kind of it, anyway, I. How are you doing again?”

“Hah? Who envies the same chick who every month touch up embroidered eyebrows?”

“SO BAD YOU, ERIN!!! Huh, ah! How are you going, huh? Time to go home to Mama Vienna empty-handed, anyway?”

“Actually, from yesterday I thought of something, Nad. But not sure, it will work or not.”

“Apaan, huh? Let's try it, don't be crazy!”

“Nad, want to not want us to try to meet his parents Reva, anyway. We have to tell everyone, who knows they can help.”

“Oh, yes, already. His house is near Papa Pram's house, ‘kan?”

“Yes, only five different houses. But—”

“But what?”

“Reva's relationship with her parents is not close. And he hasn't come home since he ran away nine years ago.”

“Oh, broken home kids, anyway. He deserves to be weird.”

“Hush! Indiscriminate, lu!”

“Iya, sorry. Yes, let's go, we still try to come aja.”

“The name is really judes, Nad.”

“NGGAK FEAR!”

In such crucial moments, every possibility and opportunity seems worth trying, including walking barefoot on fragile glass.

Since childhood, Reva has always described the conditions in his house as walking on thin glass, which will break every time he missteps. He said that was the relationship with his parents. He must be very careful in acting and speaking so that their explosive anger does not scatter like a piece of glass that will hurt him.

Reva is an only child who seems to live a kara, because both parents are very busy with their respective affairs. No friends chattering or telling stories in that house. There have been no smiles, greetings, and greetings since he was a child. All of them were like strangers who happened to live on one roof. And for that reason he became very good at harboring feelings when growing up. Reva had been very used to keeping everything by herself.

Long enough to drive, the yellow compact car finally entered a residential complex. Just a few turns left until Nadia and Erin arrive at Reva's childhood home, which is not too luxurious but still looks spacious. However, just after they got there, it seemed like Nadia caught an unusual sight on the grounds of the house.
