Under The Rain's

Under The Rain's
Chapter 50—Mirror

The caress of the cold wind in the morning made Kris and Reva's bodies squirm. They hugged each other tighter as the freezing temperatures from the mountains broke through the walls of the house and made their owners who were still asleep in the fog look for blankets. Shortly thereafter, a loud alarm on Reva's phone rang out, trying to awaken souls who were still weary at the beginning of the day.

Kris and Reva only really slumber when the time is almost dawn, so the two pairs of eyes are very heavy to open. In fact, the ringtone pack of the phone has appeared several times as a marker that Kris must immediately prepare that morning.

“Build, Kris ..” Reva's voice that had just woken up still sounded raucous. “You must leave.”

Kris who was still curled up under the thick blanket even more hugged his wife tightly like a wrestler who was locking the position of the opponent competing, to the point that the woman groaned in pain.

“Aaaahh ..” Reva complained of pain when the decapitation hit his bruised shoulder.

Perhaps Kris' intention was just to joke in the morning, there was absolutely no intention of hurting. However, when he saw his wife grimacing, then he realized his actions a few days ago.

“Darling, your bruise is still not healed?” kris asked feeling guilty as the appearance of the bluish traces on Reva's body was clearly visible to her on a bright morning.

At that time they were still both lying down, and Kris began to open Reva's pajama top with a line of buttons on the front. “Let me see, ya—”

“Not necessary.”

Reva immediately got up to sit on the edge of the mattress, and re-inserted the top button into the hole that had been opened by Kris. “Come, you should take a quick shower.” A brief glance went to her husband to remind him that he had a great job that morning.

Indirectly according to, Kris hugged Reva from behind, and began to trace the neck niche of the left part of the woman with her nose pointed until the tiny body jolted amused. “Sorry me, yes, dear ...” hisses soft.

Reva who felt bad immediately dodged and got up from sitting down, then he opened the curtains from the large window in the room until the top of the merapi which was still covered by fog was seen by Kris on his bed. Then, she took a towel and prepared all the needs of her husband. Choose the best clothes and favorite perfumes, then keep all the gadgets in place to take her husband away. Whether it's a cell phone, camera, drone, laptop, and cables whose ends vary in shape. All of them were done there.

“I made breakfast together first, and you have to shower now, yes. Could be late later.”

Unwilling to look, Reva immediately left Kris who was still pensive looking at him to head to the kitchen where he again struggled with foodstuffs. Actually, the chicken curry he cooked yesterday was completely untouched, because Kris did not come home and Reva was lazy to eat. In addition, he also prepared cut fruit and sandwiches for lunch.

Finished with the kitchen, Reva replaced Kris's mud-looking shoes with a pair of immaculate shoes she had just washed. It seemed like all day yesterday the man was really adventuring into the countryside, to the point that his footwear was so dirty.

In just a short time alone, all the preparations had already been completed by Reva. A large backpack containing the needs of Kris for the day was placed by him in the middle room chair, not to forget the dining box, drinking bottles and other accessories such as hats and glasses. Everything is completely complete.

While Kris is still inside the bathroom, Reva's mind drifts to the events of a few years ago, when the woman was forced to be rushed to the IGD at midnight because the tear in her temple was severe enough to not stop bleeding.

The first time Kris hurt his wife, it was not a deliberate act. At that time he was drunk, and Reva continued to whine to ask him why the proceeds from the sale of his apartment were not used for agricultural business capital as agreed at the beginning. The money was instead used for Kris's personal project, though he soon replaced it a few months later from the project's revenue.

Unfortunately, the argument has gone far everywhere. At that time, Kris accused Reva of not being supportive because he questioned the use of free funds they had. He is in dire need of the funds, and he thinks there is no harm if he uses it first for more urgent needs. In the end, it will all be returned.

Of course Reva retorted the accusation. Unsupportive? Not supportive from where? Reva always obeyed even when her little heart said no. He never denied or defended himself even if he felt right.

Actually, it is not about the money that Reva is concerned about, but he also demands equal support from Kris. She also wants to be heard like her husband. Want to be given freedom to do things and freedom of opinion.

Reva wants justice. Unfortunately, all he got was a fight all night that put his life at risk.

At that time Kris was at the peak of emotions, and too high an alcohol level really dulled his sanity. They were fighting in the backyard. It rained very heavily, and the contoured back porch dropped off it became very slippery. Due to a push from her husband, Reva slipped until her temple hit a pointed rock on the edge of the fish pond. The gaping tear was so severe, that it required medical stitches to be able to close back.

Since then Reva has become increasingly quiet. She only spoke when asked, and never gave an opinion because she was so afraid to hear her husband's reaction. However, it actually made Kris more furious until months later. Every time he came home after work, all he found was the coldness of his wife who kept her mouth locked. There were never any more words out of it, questions were answered as necessary.

Kris who never separated from the influence of alcohol became easily provoked emotions. At that time he was very angry because Reva did not enthusiastically respond to their anniversary. Months he heard only said ‘ya’, ‘not’, and ‘don't know’. Reva even remained silent as Kris bought a beautiful cake for both to enjoy, and it ignited the man's fiery rage.

With a pile of annoyance and frustration, Kris threw a glass bottle of used wine right at Reva's head as they again fought on the night of the anniversary. Reva who was leaning against the wall was still able to dodge and directly cover her face, but the shards scattered from the shard still injured her until some parts of her body were scratched. The glass bottle was very thick and heavy, and Kris actually threw it with all his might.

The latter's quarrel happened not too long ago, and it was immediately suspected by Erin as an act of violence. The bruise on the shoulder near the shoulder blade was very noticeable even from far away. The strong blow Reva received into the kitchen cabinet left a blue footprint there. Not enough to get there, the man also dragged him roughly and was about to slam him into the mattress. However, unlucky Reva instead staggered down and his arm stung a wooden divan.

Without Erin realizing it, the cause of the problem might be herself. Erin who saw Kris was in Bandung to teach an art class constantly contacted Reva by e-mail, because Reva changed her mobile number.

Reva never retaliated, but he was so careless that he allowed the emails to pile up for days. It was too late because Chris arrived sooner than expected.

Without further ado, as soon as he arrived from Bandung, the man immediately checked his wife's phone carefully. Reva who tried to defend her rights and privacy clearly lost if she had to fight against the force. No matter how strong she wanted to protect her phone from her husband's investigation, she was still unable to resist.

Finally, because of the struggle, Reva's phone slammed onto the floor until the screen broke, and Kris became uncontrollable, then pushed the woman to the end of the kitchen cabinet.

One thing Reva never understood from Kris was the fact that her husband also felt very tormented every time they fought. After seeing Reva fall helplessly, Kris would cry with her. He will hurt himself like a person with a mental disorder. In fact, he can hit his own head repeatedly against the wall, or punching a sturdy wooden cabinet until his knuckles are injured until they bleed.

After all those emotional waves have passed, Kris will return to being the person Reva likes. He will be sweet and romantic as usual, without even bothering to discuss the quarrel that just happened. Then, Reva will return to forgive him and hope that things will improve soon. From the beginning they were married. Unfortunately, the bad events are always repeated over and over again, as Kris gets caught up in two much different personalities.

I don't know what's inside her head, but Reva always felt that she understood Kris well. The more Reva looked into the man's attitude, the more he understood that Kris was not much different from him. The man suffered so much loss in childhood. He is ignored and feels abandoned by his own parents, and Reva understands Kris' excessive fear of losing someone. He also experienced something similar many years ago with Rafael.

Seeing Kris, Reva was like reflecting to himself. It was like diving into the bottom of a depression ravine, and always finding Kris there, stuck with him to wade through the rest of life. Despite being born from a similar darkness, they still have a different way of responding to the cruelty of the world. As Kris became very temperamental, Reva became very quiet. That's not fair at all.

“Breakfast together, yuk?”

Kris's call suddenly broke Reva's daydream in the morning. The man had finished his shower. It's been very clean, fragrant and handsome.

“Bby,” answered Reva briefly and followed her husband sitting at the dinner table.

Warm rice with chicken curry butter is already served there, and they eat it together.

“I was able to go home late at night like yesterday,” complained Kris in the middle of his breakfast moment. “You don't have to wait for me, yes.”

“Iya.”

“What is the food supply today enough?”

“Iya.”

“Then you cannot leave the house, and please do not meet anyone outside of my knowledge. Don't go anywhere."

“Iya, fine ...”

Shortly after breakfast was over, Kris immediately left to finish her heavy work that day, and Reva could only hope that everything would be fine.

As usual, Reva took the time to be in the park every day. That morning, he wanted to examine the diseased leaves of ornamental plants in the backyard, but, he kept hearing someone call his name. Samar indeed. It was not a screeching type of grill, but rather a hiss with strong intonation. Despite her fear, Reva is moved to find the source of the voice.

“EL!!”

Reva was aghast when she found a man looking up at her behind the left corner wall of her back garden. The man smiled. I don't know how long he's been there. In the only angle that is not reachable CCTV cameras that Reva calls as blind spot.

“What are you doing there, El?!”
