Chapter 56—Biang Kerok

The first session of consultation did not produce much results for Andini. Instead of delving into Reva's various captions, the doctor was curious as to why she always looked so moody. Actually, Andini's own feelings began to be unusual when he saw some scars on his pale face. There was an elongated cut of stitches in the temple, unfortunately Andini could not see bruises and bruises at all because at that time Reva wore a sweater that covered the upper part of his body.

Andini had to go further if she wanted to find something, and that afternoon she went to the police station to fulfill the call and give Kris health report which she honestly did not understand much. As soon as Andini gets the statement from the police, everything starts to make sense to him. The wound he saw on Reva's face started to make sense. He just didn't understand why Kris could do such a cruel thing. There must be a strong reason. There must be something he can understand. The police are still in the process of investigation.

Andini's determination to visit Reva's residence was already unanimous. The night he went to see Reva based on the address he got from the police. Of course, he did it after making sure Kris got the best performance. Andini did have many colleagues that he trusted in the hospital, so he could leave Kris calmly.

As the dinner hour progressed, Andini just arrived at Reva's house. The distance from the hospital is about twenty kilometers, traveled by Andini within forty minutes. In the middle of the trip, he did not forget to stop by to buy healthy snacks such as gluten-free cakes and fruits. When Andini arrived at the fence, Reva was having dinner accompanied by Rafael.

In the silence of a village in North Sleman, Reva could hear clearly when the fence was tapped. Kris did not intentionally put up the bell because he did not want to be disturbed while at home. Be the person who wants to visit must knock on the fence repeatedly or shout loudly like a debt collector. It will only work when the owner does not feel lazy to open the door.

At that moment Reva really wanted to know who was visiting him after the various problems that came his way, so he rushed outside to see the figure.

“Hai, Reva,” greet Andini who was forced to get off her luxury SUV to knock on the fence. “Can I log in, Va?”

“Doctor Andini?” The faint illumination around it made Reva's view unclear so she needed to focus her eyes while walking closer to the fence.

“Iya, Va, it's me,” replied Andini. “Sorry I disturb nights, yes.”

At first Reva hesitates to open the door to strangers, but she can't bear to let Andini stand out.

“I just want a minute, can?” it was clearly Andini who was soon able to catch Reva's doubts. “I really want to help you, Va.”

Finally Reva gave up. He also had no reason to deny the doctor's presence. Andini had been very kind to him even though they had just met. The doctor could not have any malicious intent.

“Please, Doc.” Reva opened the fence padlock and let Andini in first.

The guest was immediately directed to head to the dining room where Rafael was enjoying a bowl of chicken soto and various satay.

“Eh ... Doctor,” greet Rafael with disdain. “Mari eat.”

“No need,” reject Andini gently while putting the hand he brought on the dining table. “This is precisely me bring something, you know.”

“Yes, why bother, anyway, Doc.” Rafael felt bad to see the many snacks that Andini brought for him and Reva. “Come please sit, Doctor.”

“Neasy, lah. Last time passed by, kok,” kilah Andini while pulling one of the chairs on the dining table.

Rafael just nodded smilingly with his mouth full of quail eggs. “So, what's this event?” tanyanya polo's.

“Va, today the hospital with the police have started to work together.” Andini immediately opened the conversation after exchanging greetings. Previously, I would like to apologize for what you just experienced.”

Andini sincerely sympathized with Reva's situation at the time. I really did not think that the man who had been very close to him turned out to be the perpetrator of violence.

Rafael who was busy enjoying his so soft fried empal was forced to speak up. “Doctor Andini is right, Va. The court will act more quickly if you do have a good reason to separate, especially if you have a back up of medical results about your current psychological state.”

Reva did not have time to answer, Rafael immediately moved to take something from his backpack located on the sofa in the middle room. After the object was found, he immediately returned to the dining table.

“This is a diary of Reva, Doc,” explained Rafael while showing the appearance of the diary book to Andini.”

“El .. please don't,” please Reva with a weld, sticking out her arm to grab the book. Surprised to find out that Rafael was still carrying the book everywhere, but he had clearly asked Erin to burn it.

“Why not? It's all here, Va. Everything you need is here.”

Of course Rafael will not arbitrarily give his valuable notes to people he just knew like Andini's doctor. However, he still needed a guide to be able to tell everything to the young psychiatrist.

In the notebook there are not only Reva's personal writings. There are also tucked in the doctor's prescriptions that he had received, a photo of USG and the birth certificate of his late baby, as well as business cards from several professional therapists who had helped him.

Last night for Andini and Rafael chatted until finally the woman decided to stay the night. He could not stop the discussion in the middle of the road, instead the in-depth consultation session moved to the sofa to be more comfortable. Thanks to Andini's patience and sincerity, Reva also slowly began to open herself up. Little by little he revealed pieces by pieces of his household puzzle with Kris.

Rafael and Reva just nodded while leaning against each other.

“There's been a good job, fired for stealing. There's a kid dropped out of school because he got pregnant. There's a broken home because of the affair. There is a career destroyed just because of mispronunciation .. If humans are all perfect, it seems there will be no problem, yes?”

“Iya, Doc .. unfortunately, life is not like that because humans still have ego.”

“Betul, El. But, the good or evil side is all part of us, and therefore life is not perfect. Then what can we do, dong? Nothing else but move on, ‘kan? Because life goes on.”

“How else, Doc. Indeed must survive as long as you are still breathing .. while continuing to improve.”

“I understand that sometimes something feels so painful. Sometimes people feel so bad .. but El, Va. .. we have a choice, you know, to look from the good or bad side. I also have many mistakes that are almost unforgivable, but I keep learning from it.”

“No will be as big as my mistake to Reva, Dok.”

“Who said? If we want to play wrongly over all these tragedies, maybe I am the real culprit.”

Rafael and Reva glanced at each other with a look of confusion, then simultaneously they looked at Andini for an explanation. His last words really made them wonder.

“What Doctor means?” ask Reva curiously.

“You know, Va ... If I hadn't left Kris nineteen years ago, maybe not everything would have been this way. But at that time I really wanted to be a doctor. I moved to Yogyakarta for college because I did not want to be constantly bullied by the possessive guy.”

Reva's eyes were opened, and Rafael could only look at the psychiatrist with his mouth open. It was fitting that the woman insisted on approaching Reva, it turned out that there was indeed something she wanted to convey.
