Chapter 48: The Flag

After taking a short break we went around back to find the magic paper, when one of us got it. Sarah's gonna fold it and then we're gonna follow her back.

The people who came with us decided not to go after the flag and they just wanted to finish this test.

Everyone obviously did not like living in the forest. When the night came, we each prepared a makeshift camp and took turns to guard, no monsters, but wild animals remained.

Some of them we serve as dinner as well.

The next morning everyone went back on their way, when our origami paper fell it was our sign to rest.

Marick sat on a tree trunk and then he tumbled back quite hard.

"sick."

"Your fault is not careful" said Sarah helping out by extending a hand.

"Sial... This is quite tiring, how much more paper should we look for, it's tiring."

"My feet hurt too."

I can understand what happened to the other group, I explained to calm them down.

"This test is actually to train us not to be too dependent on magic, I'm sure of all of us even rarely walking when able to ride a broomstick."

"On that..."

"Academy is just trying to remember how we can adapt so that when we return to the normal world we can live by hiding our strength."

My explanation is clearly well-received.

That just wasn't from anyone, everything was purely what I was thinking right now. I took out my wand and so did Sarah.

What fell in front of us was a giant spider with a dark black color and on its body stamped with the papers we wanted.

Using magic will damage the paper and if we do not use it, it is difficult to defeat this creature.

Marick tremblingly took out his wand.

"We have to deal with it and inflame the papers?"

Sarah had a different thought, she was more thorough than I thought.

"It's okay to use magic, just don't hit the gold paper.it's our ticket to reach the middle of the forest quickly."

We all did as Sarah said, nothing bad enough in using magic so everyone exerted their best strength in carrying out the attack.

First we blinded the sight of the spider with light magic then attacked its legs, in the second when it collapsed I slid under its body picking up the golden paper before finally finishing this fight.

According to Sarah this gold paper can directly make us reach the finish without the need to look for other papers.

In three days we became the first group to arrive and only my group got the flag that Miss Helena said.

There is a message placed on the tree, when someone reaches the finish then the next day will be the last day. Those who have not yet arrived will be declared a failure along with the barrier that will disappear completely.

That way we can go with magic.

Several other groups followed and the rest had to fail and receive additional classes.

The test for the magic world would indeed not be found in any school in the normal world.
