It's a dark world.
Without anything.
Without anybody.
And without the slightest sound.
A hand stuck out toward me that woke me up in the blink of an eye, as if I had unwittingly slept for a while before Sarah and Marick walked into the waiting room.
I was going to duel with Gilbert before, but somehow it became a byword and know witnessed by many other students.
The people here might be thirsty for this kind of entertainment.
"Fight on Anna, we'll definitely support you."
"I can't imagine how you go to school without hair."
Sarah elbowed Marick's stomach until she was nauseous.
"Don't listen to him, let's get out now."
I could see how a podium had been prepared for the duel, while people were sitting around him. Is this some kind of Colosseum or something?
In the middle of the arena Miss Cilia started calling us.
Gilbert first, then I followed until the two of us faced each other with sticks in each hand.
"Whoever claims to surrender or goes outside the arena he loses and is also forbidden to fight with killing intent, then the duel begins now."
Without any more cue, Gilbert gallantly threw a fireball at me which I parried with a stick.
"Ignium."
He was clearly fighting with killing intent, but clearly no one would stop him.
Every time I deflected his attack I would be forced back one step back, this area is square then if I fell. I was declared a loser too.
"Why commoners? You won't attack, you'll lose."
Without being told I knew it too. When Gilbert got closer and tried to end this duel I just swung a stick to attack him.
"Ignium."
"Flash."
My spell first made him lose his balance, I just used a spark of light to slightly blind his eyesight.
"What's that?"
Instead of using magic I ran at him, hitting him in the face until he was thrown into the air before falling out of the arena, everyone looked surprised including my two friends as well.
My punch is indeed very hard can even throw a big man like Gilbert, doubtfully Miss Cilia announced.
"Anna Holland."
That way my name is getting famous here even though I don't really want it.
As we were being treated to a lot of food by Gilbert, he realized that in our class Marick was an expert in eating.
"Please add more."
"Please."
I can see Gilbert who's desperate to spend her monthly money, but come on, who cares.
A few days after the incident I visited a small shop located in a nearby town.
When I opened the door the sound of bells echoed signifying my presence. From under the receiving counter an old man appeared.
"Is there anything I can do to help young lady?"
He wiped his glasses before asking.
"I wonder if you can find out about this stick?"
I stretched out the stick I had and instantly his face paled.
"It's not this."
The old man hastily closed the windows, the doors and hung the sign of the lid. Is he trying to mean something to me.
I thought about it, but it was obviously too much.
"Where did you get this stick from, son?"
"Someone gave it to me."
I missed out on who gave it to me. The headless figure was too terrifying to tell.
"Can you use it?"
I nodded in response.
"Then you must have cursed blood."
I was frozen instantly.
