Baby Amber

Baby Amber
What a Weird Baby

I saw Ratih still holding the baby we found. We have not yet reported on the discovery of the baby in our backyard. Plus, there's no fuss about people losing babies.

"Aahhh, maybe this child was deliberately thrown away." I murmured. And I finally decided to postpone reporting the baby's discovery.

"Dik, here's Cook bring the leftover side dishes earlier at the restaurant." I handed you a paper bag containing side dishes and some food that I deliberately cooked with the leftover ingredients in the restaurant. Because for us, to serve our buyers always use new and fresh materials.

"How's the diner today, ma'am?"

"Like the last few days, brother. Our restaurant is very crowded." I replied smiling happily.

"This child is the bearer of fortune for us, Mas." said Ratih while kissing the forehead of the baby we named Radit. The pale-white baby boy squirmed. His face was like a baby in general, it was just that the two eyes of the child looked strange and creepy. Both of his eyes were almost entirely white. There was only a small pupil in the middle. Not like the human eye in general.

"Mas, our child does not want to suckle." complained Ratih again. Yes, our baby always refused when in a bottle containing milk. Even refused when in a baby porridge. Surprisingly, the baby never cried because of hunger or anything. Even the diapers I bought to wear to Radit were never used. Strange baby, he won't eat a drink even the baby doesn't poop at all.

"We're taking it to the doctor, Mas." whine Ratih.

I was hesitant to take the baby to the doctor. I'm afraid that my thoughts about the baby have always been true. The baby we've been caring for the last few years is not a human child.

"Mas. Why just shut up? You still think Radit's the son of Satan?" ratih shouted to make the baby in his arms rebel. Ratih was busy petting Radit back to calm down. The baby will rebel as if he did not like it if someone called it a child of the devil.

"Alright, Sister. Tomorrow we take him to the doctor."I answered briefly.

Ratih looks lethargic. Our return from the doctor obviously did not make him happy or relieved. The doctor's strange look at us, as well as the people in line made Ratih feel uncomfortable. Many times I saw my wife standing up to calm the restless and fussy-looking Radit before entering the examination room. Even the people who were looking looked indifferent and just looked cynically at us.

"Yes, Doc. My son never wants to eat, drink or even poop." replied Ratih trying to explain.

The doctor who heard Ratih's explanation only let out a long sigh. Check it out and hand Radit back to us.

"Then what should we do, Doctor?" I asked about the circumstances that happened to Radit.

"It looks like this is fine. You don't have to worry." said the doctor.

"How is this, Mum?" Patty looked disappointed. Even until the fifth day Radit did not want to eat or drink. He always refused when Ratih or I tried to give him nutrition.

"You know what else, brother. The doctor also did not provide any solution." I said soothingly.

I threw my body into the bed. Thinking about the weirdness that has happened lately gives me a bit of a headache. Then, how Radit will grow if the intake of nutrients alone he never received.

"Son, what do you want to eat?" I approached Radit who was writhing on the bed alone. Apparently Ratih was leaving him to wash the dishes in the back.

"Astaghfirullah."

My body hit the closet behind me. Even the pain from the impact was completely ignored when I saw the strangeness of Radit.
