Chapter 61: The Work
I told Tiffany and Nicol what the innkeeper said.
"It must be difficult, even if the book is there, we can't possibly buy it for one gold coin and two copper coins."
"You're talking about my money" I said to Tiffany, who smiled ignorantly.
"I left my money at the inn, which I have only these two chests, take as payment.this is my precious asset."
I wish I could throw him out of the window right now. For sure during this trip he did not spend any money.
"Sorry sir, I don't have it either."
"There's no need to apologize Nicol, I should have given you money as a reward."
"Heh, but I.."
"There's no but-but, you work for me that's why I'll pay you after I have the money."
"Sir."
I smiled gently at him, if I don't pay his salary I'm afraid he'll live a life of deprivation, I obviously don't want that to happen.
"We'd better try to find as much work as possible until the auction starts."
"That's a great idea.I'm fit to work in a restaurant or cafe around here."
This place is too majestic, I'm not sure Tiffany can adapt well.
In that city we started to split up, I had banned Nicol from coming but he refused to help us work, I let him come with Tiffany while I walked in the opposite direction to them.
"Yo, can you give me a job?" I asked towards a shopkeeper man yet he just shook his head.
"You'd better go somewhere else."
I obeyed what he had suggested but it was still unsuccessful until I finally arrived at a magnificent mansion near the clock tower.
On the sidelines of the trip, Greed sometimes likes to say casually.
"It's better if we just rob and get as much money as we want, that goes for the book as well."
As the name implies he's really greedy, let's ignore that, and come back with what I'm going to do now.
The man sat on the sofa while surrounded by some of his plump servants, his life clearly looked so bright to me.
"So then, you want to take this job."
"Right, I can finish it in less time than promised but on condition that please pay me double."
"Looks like you need money."
I can't say that I need money to attend the auction therefore I just nodded in response then went to the clock tower after getting the deal.
There a tower is clearly visible with a large clock that keeps turning, each hour it aligns it produces enough bangs to injure the eardrum.
If I could just finish this in a few minutes, not only was a servant watching me from behind.
Evidence is needed so I can get the money I want. First I will clean the outside using the magic I always used to clean my teacher's room.
I pointed my hands together, as I was about to shoot water magic, the servant immediately stopped me.
"It's best not to do, too much water might damage the watch itself, it would be better to wipe it with a wet cloth."
"It's gonna be a long time."
"Better than to ruin it."
That must be troublesome.
Even so, in the end I did what the servant suggested, using my magic as much as 100 pieces of cloth to clean them simultaneously.
