Chapter 15: The Dog Hunter
As I darted through the meadow I asked Rion.
"When in that city, you made my status look weak, didn't you?"
"Truely I made it so that everyone wouldn't suspect you. Even if you were level 1, your level was actually much more than that."
"I always felt like I could fight."
Just as a Dog Hunter started popping up from beside me, they showed fangs in their mouths with saliva dripping from there. I slashed one before twisting my body to defeat the rest.
I used plant magic which ensnared them and sharp roots pierced them from underground.
A Dog Hunter appeared behind me and I easily slashed the tip of my sword at his heart, the beast screaming in pain before his life was completely gone.
My mask will continue to hide the expression I made but strangely I smiled happily.
There's something weird about that.
"Rion why am I enjoying this?"
"You still don't realize it, I'm an evil goddess because it's a blessing that I give contrary to other goddesses, instead of calling you a hero you bear destruction in other words every life you kill will strengthen you. I told you if people knew about you you would be hunted by everyone from this world even heroes sent to this world would also hunt you."
"You're giving me a hard time" I said until a giant Dog Hunter appeared in front of me.
On it was a human-like demon with horns.
"So you're the one who told these creatures to attack this house."
"Truely, I am a subordinate of the Northern Demon King.I am ordered to kill anyone human who is near me, including you."
The Dog Hunter leaped above me to pounce on me with both hands, as I leapt to avoid it the ground I had previously stepped on was shattered with cracks running through the entire area.
I put a katana on my shoulder.
"Tell your demon lord that the entire capital was saved."
The demonic expression started to harden while the demonic beast it was riding on was growling furiously.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you're all gonna die, and I'm gonna make sure you get it."
"Based on fucking humans, who are you fighting."
I appeared behind the demon while holding his head.
"Basic monster."
I cut off his head and threw it to the side. The Dog Hunter I was riding tried hard to bring me down but I thrust the katana into the back of his skull until his body fell to the ground.
I threw away the blood stuck to my blade before sheathing it back.
"You deliberately let one man off the hook, even if it's a woman he's got to kill."
"That's not why I let him go, I want him to report about me to the leader.We don't have time to linger here, it would be great if I killed everything at once."
"Well, I don't care what kind of way you're going to do, as long as I can live a leisurely life without fighting directly I allow it."
This goddess only likes to be selfish.
Upon returning home earlier, I saw a new grave had been made, his wife and daughter squatting while praying while my party members were behind.
Valentine did the same, but Harty boredly yawned wide.
I decided to stand next to the two, waiting for the woman in front of me to get up and speak.
"My name is Angela von Astriana, I've heard from both of them about the kingdom, I will train all the liberation forces as I can," she said so determinedly that her hair fluttered in the wind.
I replied without hesitation.
"Thank you, I promise you don't have to fight in front of the battlefield, you just train them."
"But..."
"Not that your reason for retirement is to want to be with your family, I don't want to let your daughter worry or lose the only family left, Harty drive us home."
"Eh, I'm coming back but I haven't eaten anything."
Though he had eaten the demonic beast greedily.
"When in the capital I'll treat you with good food."
"All right."
Harty's body began to change and grow to show the figure of a real dragon, Angela or her daughter seemed to be shocked.
