CHAPTER 5; Scout

“Oppa don't behave like that, don't underestimate yourself!” Unknowingly Aleya stopped talking formally to San Hyuk. Do they know that their boss is a person who likes to whine like that?

“True, I was your Oppu long before I became your superior. I thought you forgot about it.” San Hyuk looked at Aleya sharply. His eyes kept on the woman who was now sitting restlessly before him. There was a tremor that Aleya had deliberately detained and hidden but did not escape San Hyuk's eyes.

“Sorry,” says Aleya shrewdly.

Aleya and San Hyuk's relationship is complicated. Before San Hyuk became Aleya's superior, they had already known each other since they were in college. Not only just a friend, San Hyuk was the one closest to Aleya. His college friends thought they were lovers considering the two were always together even until this second. At formal events such as weddings or reunions, the two are always together. Moreover, now they work in the same office even with different positions.

Shin San Hyuk is the boss and son of the founder of the Suwon Group. Although he established his own field and vision, Suwon Construction is still part of the Suwon Group. His pioneering efforts did not necessarily erase the fact that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth .

Aleya herself is an overseas citizen from Indonesia. After finishing High School, he moved to Korea and attended renowned universities with scholarships. Aleya did not know that San Hyuk was the son of one of the conglomerates in the country. The man did not even use a private vehicle when he went to campus. It was only after Aleya started her career as customer service in the marketing department of Suwon Group's procurement company that she learned about San Hyuk's true status.

Once he was called by the head of HRD. The call shocked his vision because it was very rare for ordinary employees like himself to be called directly by the Head of HRD. Aleya also did not know what would happen to her. He felt he did nothing wrong until he had to be called directly by the leader.

“You are named Aleya Su..” HRD chief Lee Seong Nam has trouble pronouncing Aleya's name.

“Truely I am Aleya Sudjojono, Chief Lee can call me Aleya. Is there anything I can help you with or is there anything else so you call me here?” aleya asked directly.

“Pack your things. From today you will work as a secretary at Suwon Construction,” Chief Lee replied.

“Can I know what the reason is?” aleya asked in confusion. Although he was only one year in Suwon Group, he had heard about the new revision led by the son of the President Director. The new revision did allow for a lot of promotion opportunities, but Aleya felt there was something strange considering the promotion seemed so drastic and baseless. There were still many others who should have been promoted first rather than him who was still a new kid in the company.

“You know Shin San Hyuk?” Aleya did not directly answer Chief Lee's question because maybe the person she was referring to was different from the person Aleya knew.

“Chairman Shin himself asked you to be his assistant as well as secretary, he said you are very capable to do it even more so you are college friends,” Head Lee's answer made Aleya stunned. Not wrong wrong. The person Chief Lee was referring to was the same person. He could not hide his surprise.

“Aleya?” ask Chief Lee again.

“Ya?” Head Lee surprised, “What!” he corrected his sitting position, “you refused him without thinking long? Don't you know that this is an opportunity that is very rarely obtained by ordinary employees let alone new like you?”

“Then from that I refused it. Chief Lee also thought that this was not true, right? I want to live quietly in this office.” Aleya did not budge from where she stood.

“Although this is a direct order from Chairman Shin?” head Lee's gaze slowly changed. At first he was suspicious of Aleya because personally Chairman Shin directly wanted Aleya. Chairman Shin even rejected all the secretary recommendations he gave and immediately mentioned the name of Aleya who was a nobody. Lee's head could only agree and he was surprised to see Aleya's CV. The woman does have more abilities that are dear if only in the marketing division. The woman had more than enough language mastery to even become a personal assistant.

“Yes, I will reject it! Can you convey it to Chairman Shin?” aleya's question again made Chief Lee put a tribute to Aleya. He is one of the potential companies with intelligence and assertiveness that is now emanated from his attitude.

“I'll talk about it with Chairman Shin once again.”

“Then what am I back to my table? I still have a lot of work,” Aleya does not want to waste her time in that room for long.

“Aren't you afraid of being kicked out of the company with your attitude like that? What exactly is your relationship with Chairman Shin?” Chief Lee could not hide the curiosity about the origin of the confident attitude Aleya had.

“I'm not scared at all. Your call today has shown that I am worthy to be defended. I just want to work quietly, no more,” Aleya looked straight at Head Lee, “I want to keep the professionalism of the work, as you made sure before, I know him personally without knowing his position that high.”

Aleya's explanation was very reasonable and was well received by Chief Lee. He could understand Chairman Shin's attitude because he probably already knew Aleya's ability before. Although he was relieved Aleya rejected his scout, but on the other hand he also regretted that Aleya was only in his current position.

“Damn it!” as soon as he came out of the room Aleya cursed softly. That damn Shin San Hyuk had lied to him and was now taking advantage of his position as a superior. The man had only been working for six months at the headquarters but had already messed up Aleya's work rhythm.

Aleya even ignored San Hyuk's call after learning the fact that San Hyuk was the son of the owner of the Suwon Group. As Aleya knew all along, the man worked as a freelance architect in several companies. A few months ago, San Hyuk said he would open his own company. He did not expect that the company San Hyuk was referring to was Suwon Construction. Aleya felt fooled because she told her about her work with San Hyuk when they met without knowing the big agenda that was being carried by her partner.

But that's how this food chain works, Aleya's refusal is certainly a waste. San Hyuk directly ordered Chief Lee to process his move. He had even recruited another employee who would replace Aleya. This certainly makes Aleya unwell and inevitably follow San Hyuk's devious tricks. Aleya accepts San Hyuk's request with the note San Hyuk should act professionally on her.

Aleya's hope certainly could not be fully realized, their togetherness and intimacy could not be separated if only the two. Although their duet made the project that carried soared drastically. Aleya still hopes people don't see her career just because of the connections she has, but indeed because she is capable of being in that position. He did not want any gaps to appear that could be used by people to gossip. He wants to show that what he has right now is because he deserves it.  Therefore, the woman grew into a hard worker with a cold and firm attitude. Including San Hyuk himself.
