Cursed Thrones
Chapter 14 - The First Hunt

After several times arguing over what Quest they should take, Brian finally found the right Quest.

...[.A group of Goblins were found near the Eastern forest. Hunt them down to keep the village safe around! Prize: 50 silver coins!]...

Brian immediately handed the piece of paper to one of the Guild employees. Which is nothing else....

"Ah, have you chosen your Quest?" adelle asked behind the table.

"That's it." Brian replied briefly.

Adelle immediately took the paper and tasted it with a red stamp.

"Okay, we've accepted. Congratulations on this Quest." Adelle replied with a very friendly smile. Very different from his previous attitude.

"Hunting! Let's go hunting!"

Cecilia looked so happy with this Quest.

Both of them immediately left the building. Start their mornings with this hunting mission.

......***......

In a village, next to a dark forest, Brian and Cecilia decide to take a break.

While resting, Brian tried to extract as much information as possible from the villagers.

"That's right, I saw it for myself with my eyes" said one adult man with brownish hair.

The man was seen wearing a tangled brownish cloth outfit. While his right hand is seen leaning on the hoe he carries.

"What about the numbers?" ask Brian again.

"Hm.... I don't know. It was too early and foggy, so I couldn't see it for sure." The man replied. He seemed to be trying to remember it hard.

"Is that so? But no rough idea of them?"

"Maybe about 5 or 6? I don't know, but obviously they just kidnapped a goat from this village."

"Thank you very much." replied Brian who immediately stepped away. He walked towards one of the big rocks on the outskirts of the village.

Where Cecilia is seen sitting relaxed while singing on it.

"A, Bri... Reux. How's it?" asked Cecilia who immediately stopped her singing.

"Maybe 5 or 6 Goblins. They just stole a goat so there's not much of it."

Brian immediately picked up the old sword he had placed near the boulder. Interestingly and look at the iron that has rusted enough it.

"Good! Now let's go!" cecilia shouted as she raised her bow into the air.

......***......

A few hours passed....

Everything was going, a little beyond Brian's expectations.

'Damn it, usually in the game after receiving a Quest then the enemy will just appear. But these? Looking tracks? Is that true?!'

The two of them were still walking around in the thick forest. Searching for traces of the whereabouts of the mentioned Goblins.

At times like this, Brian can only rely on one thing.

"Cecilia, don't your eyes see anything?" ask Brian.

Quickly, the Elf girl shook her head.

"Well.... I don't know when we should be looking like this? I guess...."

'Kraa!!!'

Suddenly, the sound of wild animal cries rang out from the distance. It immediately stole the attention of both.

"There!" shouted Cecilia who immediately ran towards the South.

"Stupid! Wait!"

Brian tried hard to run after the figure of the Elf. But indeed in reality, the Elf's body was much lighter and more agile than a human's.

Because at this time....

'Tap 'em! Taps! Aap!'

Cecilia was seen running very fast almost without sound. Leaving Brian far enough behind him.

Raising her bow, Cecilia prepared to fire her arrows.

'Near by?' brian thought in his heart. He immediately drew his sword and prepared to enter the fight.

'Shuuuttt!!!'

After a while....

'Jlleebb!!!'

"Yahoooo!!!"

The cry of a monster could be heard clearly. Exactly from the direction where Cecilia's arrow was headed.

'Cause?! The shot was accurate.'

Not thinking any longer, Brian immediately lunged towards the source of the sound.

In front of him was a green-skinned monster. His body was quite small and short like a 10-year-old child.

The monster, known as the Goblin, was seen trying hard to cover the wound from Cecilia's arrow on her left shoulder. While his left hand looks start to limp grasping the rusty little knife.

"Well.... Huh.... Huh...."

With teeth full of fangs but in disarray, the monster looked to be groaning in pain. Unable to move much.

Sweat started pouring down on the monster's body, along with blood flowing slowly on his left shoulder.

"Th-this...."

Brian began to doubt. Seeing the monster so painful, he was silent. Her heart that had been living in such a peaceful environment had been holding her back.

Subconsciously, he felt sorry for the monster.

But still, in front of the monster was clearly visible the figure of a deer that had been lying helpless. His body was injured by several knife stabs, none other than the Goblin.

"Faulia.... Huh...."

After setting his breath....

'Zraaatt!!!'

Brian swung his sword with one hand. But the old sword wasn't sharp enough, making the blade just stick around the Goblin's neck.

"Graaaaa!!! Graaaaah!!!"

The goblin cried out in pain after receiving Brian's slash. Both of his hands were trying their hardest to keep away the blade of the sword.

And a moment later....

'Bab!!!'

An arrow stuck right in Goblin's head. He penetrated and killed him at that very moment.

'Bruuukk!'

No longer alive, the Goblin's body fell to the ground. Buried behind thick leaves in the ground.

"Great work! We managed to kill one!" cecilia shouted as she ran towards him. His face looked so happy at this achievement.

So happy, Cecilia reflexively immediately embraced Brian with her left hand.

"You know? I'm used to hunting animals, while hunting other demons? This is the first time! And maybe I understand why humans like to hunt demons!" said Cecilia while continuing to strengthen her embrace.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" ask Brian back.

Not understanding anything said by Brian, Cecilia's eyes were now fixed on a deer lying on the ground.

"Well, what a pity. When you are young, why are you hunted? You stupid monster. Brian's! We're gonna take this deer and go back to the village!" reply Cecilia.

"Wait on! What do you mean by that? What about this Goblin hunt?"

"There's still tomorrow! Now we'll make use of this meat first before it rots!"

Cecilia quickly pulled down Brian's sword and started cutting the deer's neck. Throw away as much blood as you can left in it.

After a while, he threw the headless deer's body towards Brian.

"Bring it up, we're going back to the village now!" cecilia orders with a big smile on her face.

Glancing at the body of the deer that is now on his shoulder, Brian finally agreed.

"You're right, I'm hungry too."

The two finally decided to return to the village and rest. Prepare for the next hunt.

Without realizing....

'Srruuugg! Nishiyug!'

Behind the thick bush, there was a Goblin that was lurking the movements of the two of them earlier. And now, the Goblin moved away slowly.

Reporting everything that happened, to the group.
