Cursed Thrones

Cursed Thrones
Chapter 15 - Party

"If you burn it like this, the smell will be more fragrant" said one mother while arranging a pile of dry wood.

Several other village mothers were seen skinning deer carried by Brian. Cleanse the meat and prepare it to eat together.

"Hows it? Does it smell good?" the mothers asked after lighting the fire on the pile of dry wood.

Smoke began to emerge from the dry wood with that somewhat golden color. The aroma is really fragrant and appetizing.

Brian who smelled the fragrant aroma of the wood immediately felt hungry.

"It's.... Why is this so bad?" ask Brian in curiosity.

"The wood from the Oar tree has a golden color and will cause a fragrant aroma. It is suitable for burning and preserving meat." explained the mothers.

His right hand seemed busy fanning the pile of wood so that the fire spread even more.

"Oar, means gold, right?" ask Brian to Cecilia.

"It's true."

Under the moon and the star covered by clouds, the villagers along with Brian and Cecilia enjoy grilled meat together.

The number is enough to fill the village of only 30 people, including several small children.

Not only venison, some residents also took out their deposits. Potatoes, corn and various vegetables were also removed.

It is quite rare for them to be able to enjoy venison. That's because hunting deer into the forest is quite dangerous.

That's why they celebrate now.

"It's delicious, the aroma and the taste.... Just like in expensive restaurants." Brian said after tasting one piece of meat.

"Restaurant? Whatisit? Is delicious?" asked one of the little boys sitting by the fire.

"No, that means a place to eat."

"Whoaah! Then can you open a restaurant?!"

Seeing the innocent demeanor of the boy reminded Brian of a long-lost peace. Peace in his past life.

Cecilia herself was busy enjoying the food. He felt like he was back in his old life.

A simple life with hunting and gathering.

While discussing things, they all enjoyed this night with great happiness. When their stomachs were full, everyone rested.

"Thank you again, not only did you kill a Goblin. But you also brought us all delicious food" said one of the old men in the village.

"Not a big deal. After all, we will also continue the Goblin hunt tomorrow. If there's a good animal, we'll hunt it back." Brian replied with a big smile.

"Well, we don't know how to thank you anymore."

"You can stay in our house. Even though there's only one room, it doesn't matter?" the old man's wife.

Brian turned his head for a moment towards Cecilia. Quickly, the Elf girl gave a smile and a thumb as if agreeing with the offer of the villagers.

"Thank you so much, just getting a room is lucky enough."

"Then come, come with us."

The old couple led the two towards their home. A simple two-story wooden house with a small yard for their houseplants.

In a house lit only by candlelight, the two deliver Brian and Cecilia on the second floor. Into a room that looks like it has not been used for a long time but still quite neat and clean.

"This room used to be our son's room, but he has become a successful merchant in the City. So just use it." said the old man with a very friendly smile.

He was reminded of the news of the Elf ruler from the Frostbite region who destroyed several cities and villages before.

Asking humanity to forgive such demons, and asking the Devil nation to forgive the humans who hunt them....

It's an impossible thing.

'Bruk!'

Due to being silent for too long, Cecilia nudged Brian's back. Reawakened it from his mind that had run away somewhere.

"Aah, yes. Again, thank you very much for your kindness. If we find your son in town, we'll let him know that his parents are in good health." Brian replied.

"Is that so? Thank you, then accept this. This is his identification." replied the old man while taking out a card made of thin wood.

On top of the thin wooden card was engraved the name and also the address of the parents' second child.

"East Forgery, Jareth. East District Mapleford sector 4, Veril road number 28. We'll definitely be there after cleaning up this Goblin, take it easy." Brian replied with a friendly smile.

He immediately pocketed the identification card behind his shabby clothes and immediately entered his room.

A simple room where there is only a bed, a small wooden chair and a table with empty shelves. There's nothing in it.

The lamp is just a small lantern with a half-melted candle.

'Cts!'

Cecilia flicked her finger to light the fire on the lantern. Illuminate this room with a dim yellow light.

Along with that, Cecilia also immediately closed the door of this room tightly and released the beanie that had all day covered half her head.

It features a small horn on its right forehead and a pair of long, pointed ears.

His red eyes were indeed enough to provoke attention, but red eyes were also not so rare in this world.

"You just sleep upstairs, I'll sleep here" said Brian, who immediately slept on the floor with his bag as his pillow.

"You sure? I don't have a problem sleeping downstairs once in a while you know?" cecilia asked as she began to take off her outer clothes. Leave only thin cloth clothes in it.

"Very sure."

Cecilia was silent for a moment hearing that answer. His two eyes also continued to be glued towards the figure of Brian who had been facing the side of the wooden wall.

"Then, fine."

The girl immediately lay on the bed with the soft pillow. Not long after, both of them fell asleep after a day of exhaustion.

....

Silence enveloped this entire village. Even the clouds did the same, covering the moonlight to shine on the village in the midst of this darkness.

The atmosphere was so calm and comfortable, even more so after the binge eating that much everyone slept very soundly. Without realizing in the distance....

Precisely in the direction of the dark forest, there were some reddish-yellow light that started to light up.

The light began to increase little by little until it finally reached dozens. Showing the face of a greenish-skinned monster behind the dark forest.

"Graarrr! Gurr!!" said one of the Goblins with a slightly larger body and a face that had slashed scars and eyes that had been damaged long ago.

Hearing his words, all the Goblins that reached nearly a hundred tail were looking so happy.

Their fangs look so sharp. So did the drool that dripped down profusely upon imagining prey before them.

The villagers themselves, along with all their cattle.
