Cursed Thrones
Chapter 17 - The Offer of Darkness

"Gerr.... Man, what if we play?" said the big Goblin who is no longer wrong is the leader of the Goblin herd.

He began to squat in front of Brian while raising Cecilia's head violently.

The Elf girl's expression looked so painful when she was hit by the Goblin's long, sharp fingernails.

"Playing?" ask Brian to be confused.

He could not think of a way to survive this situation. Not as long as there were still dozens of Goblins around. Each one carried enough weapons to kill them all.

"That's right. The game is simple, and I'm sure it's very man-controlled." replied the Goblin.

Now, he began to raise Cecilia's head. He approached her towards his own face.

From behind his mouth and teeth full of fangs, that long, slightly dark-colored tongue protruded out. Licking Cecilia's face like food.

"No need to mention, you know what I mean, right?" continued the Goblin leader with a wide smile on his face.

"You fuck!"

Just as Brian was about to swing the sword in his right hand towards the Goblin leader's neck, the 4 Goblins immediately charged towards him. Each of them aimed their knives right at Brian's neck.

Not only that, some other Goblins were also seen using survivors as hostages.

"Oooh, it's not that easy. Simple rules. If this girl can hold out till morning, I'll set you both free. If he is 'damaged' first, then this girl and the rest of the villagers will die.

Instead, if you can hold on to stay in place until morning, I'll let you go. Only you. Lf it doesn't? Those four Goblins will kill you soon. Understood?" clearly the Goblin was with a smile that seemed so disgusting.

Brian did not expect that he would be caught in a situation like this.

Whatever he chooses, everything goes wrong. There is no choice in this situation.

There is, however, only despair.

Between letting Cecilia crumble at the hands of the monsters to save herself....

Or let herself get killed for a small chance Cecilia survives. In fact, the monster's words were also completely unbelievable.

^^'Monster.... Now I understand why humanity is hunting you all.... And because of your conduct, the innocent nation of Satan is also affected....'^^^

In Brian's heart, there was currently only one emotion. An extremely strong emotion filled all parts of his body.

The hatred.

Not just the behavior of the monsters before him. But also at how weak he was right now.

He was unable to do anything to achieve the situation he expected.

If this was in a video game, or a comic, a white equestrian Knight would have come to the rescue of everyone.

It's just, this is the real world.

In a village far from any other civilization, even more so in the dark tonight.... No one will come to save them.

Even if Brian prayed to all the gods in the world, it would be useless.

Without realizing it, Brian's eyes now began to be filled with strong emotions of hatred. Glared at the figure of the Goblin leader continuously.

"Hoo, what kind of look is that? You want me to let go? What if it doesn't?" reply the Goblin while sticking her sharp fingernails around Cecilia's neck. Blood flows slowly again.

And with his barbaric attitude, the Goblin gulped down a few drops of Cecilia's blood. It feels so delicious.

"Well.... The blood of the elves was truly delicious.... Just this time I felt something like this." said the Goblin as she continued to lick the blood that was still left at the end of her fingernails.

"Damn it.... Damn it!!!"

All the Goblins were seen laughing in satisfaction after witnessing how desperate Brian was.

They felt that this was a huge victory.

"Today we start with a village, and the day after tomorrow we start with a city!!!" shouted the Goblin leader loudly.

Everyone was shouting loudly. Celebrate their victory with a big party in the middle of this village square.

The light of the fire that burned down the entire houses of the citizens became their main illumination in the midst of this darkness.

Brian, however, could only be silent.

Stuck on the ground in confusion over what he should do.

'Damn 'em.... What the fuck? Just be right.... It's all gonna end now? When we haven't even started?!'

As for his two palms, it could only clench on the ground. Dragging the ground nearby with all his might.

'Is there nothing I can do?! Doesn't there really exist?! If it continues like this.... Then Cecilia....'

Instantly, his view changed completely.

What was previously a nightmare where the figure he admired was being played with by monsters, had now turned into darkness.

The last thing he saw, was the tearful gaze of Cecilia's eyes. As if to be saved from this suffering.

There's nothing.

Only darkness covered his entire vision.

Wherever Brian looked, all he saw was a deep darkness. There is not a single speck of light.

"What the fuck?! Am I dead?!"

Brian several times tried to move his body and hurt himself. As a result, what he felt was still real.

As if he was still alive.

A few moments after that....

"I hate giving it to humans, but no matter what happens, you have to save my eyes."

The sound came from all directions. How many times Brian turned his head, the voice he heard remained exactly the same. Not changed one bit.

"You.... Hecate?" ask Brian.

That name was directly in his head when he heard his words. A sentence with a tone that sounded very haughty and confident.

It was unmistakable, that the source of this voice was the Demon King who posed a threat to the entire human race before.

"Hecate? Who's that?"

"Eh?!"

Instantly, Brian's mind froze. Unable to process what he had just heard.

After a moment of silence, the mysterious figure spoke again.

"Well.... That poor devil. I'm sorry, but you're the wrong guy. I'm not sure if civilization still remembers me right now but.... That's not important." explained the mysterious figure.

His words made Brian confused.

He immediately remembered Adelle's words in which his vision was completely unaware of the existence of the eye.

An eye with incredible power capable of looking a little into the future. At once able to see the presence of Hecate blood in a person.

Before he could reply, the mysterious figure spoke again.

"Listen, whatever happens to those eyes must always be safely hidden, no one should know. At least, it's much safer in the hands of the two of you." continued the mysterious figure.

"While you're saying it like that, doesn't mean I can save her from this, you know?" reply Brian upset.

The situation is really bad. And there's no way Brian could have saved her without committing suicide. Despite the suicide, not necessarily Cecilia will survive.

"Well.... This is why I hate humans.... Sure oes. I'll help you. Come here." Come here."

This time, the mysterious voice came right in front of Brian.

Faintly, the figure of a person could be seen. Even though what he saw was only a distorted dark picture.

Slowly, the mysterious figure extended its hand. Ask Brian to take it.

"After you shake my hand, you'll get a small fraction of my soul. But instead, remember! I can only do it once, so no matter what happens, my eyes must be safe."

"Eh?!"

Heard this very suspicious but tantalizing offer....

Brian no longer had a choice.

Besides shaking his hand firmly, and handing the rest to the serrations of fate.

But at least, he can save Cecilia.
