Chapter 21 - The Savior

Along the way, Brian was silent. He walked quietly while continuing to look at the clear sky in this world.

His eyes were so empty, so was his mind.

He just continued to follow the streets of this land like a living puppet.

Cecilia who was watching him from a distance was confused.

'Should I talk to you? Or just let it go?' thought the Elf girl in his heart.

Just this time he saw the figure of Brian who seemed so empty.

last night's incident regarding the Goblin raid was indeed very terrible. And it's not wrong if Brian suffered severe trauma due to the massacre.

Brian began to notice it slowly.

But on the other hand, this world is also so free. The only rule is power is everything.

As long as you have the power, you can do anything.

Not just within the limits of physical strength. But also the power of negotiation as Adelle had shown before.

Also diplomatic power like that of the rulers of this Empire's territory. All of that is power.

'Is he the head of this Guild?' brian thought as he watched their panic for a while.

And finally, the old man walked towards the table right where Brian was standing.

"You're called Reux? Are you sure about that information?" ask the old man.

"Relatedly? Listen old man, I was a victim there too."

"Do you have any evidence?"

"Evidence? What does that mean?"

"Of course the evidence of the hunt, or the attack of the 100 Goblins. For example pieces of their ears, or their weapons." explained the old man patiently.

"Huh?! You think in such a situation we both had time to take their body parts? Even just surviving is what I've lost!"

Listening to Brian's explanation that had no evidence, the old man was seen stroking his own white beard while thinking out loud.

"If that's true, the Guild would like to say a big thank you to you. But if it's a lie, we'll revoke your membership." replied the old man.

"Send some people to make sure. The village is not too far away either. More importantly, compensation! Where's our pay?"

"We can only pay after making sure you complete the Quest. And unfortunately, you didn't bring any evidence of the hunt."

"What the fuck?!"

"Make this a lesson for the future." replied the old man who immediately walked away.

Adelle is seen starting to return to her desk and whispering something to Brian.

"Reux, I will pay for your quest from my own money. In exchange, your Quest reward will be mine. How's it?" adelle said as she handed over a small bag of coins.

When calculating it, Brian had actually ascertained the number.

"50 silver coins with life at stake. Hah, better than nothing. Thanks, but are you sure? I don't have any evidence, do I?"

Adelle immediately glanced towards Reux and also Felix with a faint smile on her face.

"of course. I saw your blood increase." whispered Adelle.

"Aah, that's right too. Then, thank you."

Shortly after Brian and Cecilia stepped away, Adelle whispered to herself.

"Thank you again, if your words are correct, I will get at least some gold coins. Well, I'll cut your debt." whispered Adelle with a light laugh.

A beautiful greenish glow seemed to envelop Brian's left arm in the middle of this small room.

Before him, was the figure of a black-haired young girl in an all-white uniform with a dragon emblem on her chest.

"It's really gonna work?" ask Brian in curiosity.

"The "goddess of Light will bless your body with health. So just calm down."

From behind, Cecilia who was standing while leaning against the wall commented.

"Did the Goddess of Light charge as well? To be honest, 10 silver coins for this service is too expensive. Well, that too if it can be useful." said Cecilia while slightly insinuating.

Brian immediately glared at Cecilia's figure, blinking one eye several times to give the code.
