Claude came out of Catalina's treatment room. He walked away from the room followed by Vincent to the end of the hall and turned towards an elevator. Both of them came in and pressed the button to the ground floor.
"What's next, Vincent?" asked Claude while grinning.
"We can't hide Leon for too long. The baby won't stop crying. Nanny's looking after him has run out of sense" said Vincent slowly.
"Wait a few more hours, Vincent. So as not to be too noticeable later. Catalina has given up and is willing to comply. Your plan really worked."
Vincent appreciates the width. "Catalina can't be forced, Claude. But his weakness is Leon. We just encourage him to make decisions that he can't avoid. So that he would live it by a decision of his own heart, not by force."
"You're right. Just look at the results when he was forced. He pretended to obey and waited for us to let our guard down, then went to escape Leon. It's a good thing you're very careful about his actions." Claude's words made Vincent chuckle.
"You also don't believe that he's going to be that easy. So you're very alert and careful. Pretending to be off guard to know the girl's plan."
The ringing of his phone made Claude stop chatting. He saw and immediately raised the call when he saw Nanny's name printed on the screen.
"Yes ?" Claude replied.
"Sir, I have to how, sir. Baby Leon won't stop crying. His voice was hoarse and he started to limp." Nanny's panicked voice made Claude frown.
"I'll be there soon. Wait for us." Claude turned off his phone and looked at Vincent.
"Leon won't stop crying."
Vincent took a deep breath."Let's just go. For Joanna and Catalina to think we're looking for Leonard. They must be wondering if we stay here."
Claude nodded and followed Vincent who had stepped ahead of him out of the elevator towards their car parked in the area.
They drove up to an apartment building. The guards who saw them bowed and saluted. Claude half ran towards the elevator and pressed the floor button of the room where he and Vincent were hiding Leon.
Leon's crying voice rang out loud as they set foot in the apartment room. The three nannies in charge of guarding Leon seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
Vincent immediately walked past Claude and picked up the baby to carry him. Vincent leaned Leon's head against his shoulder and patted his back. Leon was still crying.
"Prepare diapers, milk and all the utensils into a bag, Nanny," Vincent ordered. The Nannies nodded and immediately started working on Vincent's orders. Claude raised his eyebrows asking.
"Wouldn't it be too soon if we take him home now?"
"Oh, we're not going home, Uncle Claude. We're gonna go for a walk." Vincent smirked happily.
A baby bag with all of Leon's needs in it was ready and put on the table.
"You put a backpack in it, right?" ask Vincent to Nanny. The three nodded together.
"good. Everything is ready. Come on Uncle Claude, you're the one with the bag." Vincent immediately stepped away leaving Claude agape.
Vincent will bring Leonard himself without Nanny? Where are they going? thought Claude astonished. But he immediately lifted Leon's bag and ran after Vincent who had left the apartment.
"Well, come in and sit down Uncle Claude" Vincent told the frowning Claude. He complied and sat on the bench next to the wheel. Claude closed the door and was immediately knocked on the glass by Vincent.
"What's wrong?" claude asked while lowering the glass.
"Of course you have to hold Leonard. I'll drive." Vincent grinned and opened the door with one hand. Then put Leon who was still a little bit of a whimper into Claude's lap and immediately hugged the baby.
Vincent closes the door back and turns to get behind the wheel.
"Are you ready, Uncle? We're going to have a picnic" Vincent chuckled and started running the car.
With Leon in his carrier, Claude went down while scowling. Vincent chuckled at her expression.
It will be more and more pleasant to see his expression in a moment, Vincent thought.
Vincent pulled out the baby bag from the back door and immediately looked for the backpack sling. He immediately took Leon and handed the sling into Claude's hands.
"Get it on your body" he said. Claude frowned but did not argue. He put the backpack into his arm and set it on his shoulder. Vincent spun and locked the sling in the back of Claude's body. It was interesting to test the strength of the backpack.
Then smiling, Vincent put Leon in the sling with his head to Claude's chest. The baby was still whining. Vincent puts up a safety guard that makes Leon stick to Claude's chest safely and re-lock it.
"Well, Uncle. We're all set. Come ...." Vincent stepped in with a baby bag. Claude followed her by holding Leon. A few eyes looked at them. Vincent looks ordinary, he's used to seeing people looking strangely at his face. Not so with Claude. The man looked stiff and wrong. Vincent grinned widely.
"You're deliberately pranking me" Claude murmured. Vincent kept quiet and invited Claude to ride the spinning horses. Leon's eyes seemed interested and finally stopped whining.
"Well .. he was finally silent. If you get on that ride, I guarantee he's asleep by the time you get off" Vincent said.
"You did it on purpose" Claude again. Vincent chuckles amusedly. Some of the mothers around looked at them with interest.
"Come, Claude. You better start going up. Or the hordes of mothers will come here while pretending to tease Leon. And they were just curious about you, and then they started asking you, where's her mom, why just a picnic together and a lot of other questions. Then they'll pretend to kiss Leon's plump cheek when they're looking for a way to touch your chest ...."
"Oh, stop your prank Vincent! I'm going up! I'll repay you for this!" Claude left Vincent to get on that ride. Vincent could not hold back his laughter anymore. He's snapping.
But Vincent's words are right. Leonard opened his eyes wide after they boarded and the ride began to spin. He laughed funnyly and rambled, making Claude feel anxious and kiss his cheeks repeatedly.
Claude hugged Leonard who was enjoying the round on the horses they rode. Not caring for the pair of eyes that look at it with interest even smile teasingly.
"They must think I'm your father and one of the husband candidates they can go after. Isn't that right, Leon? Ummm? You think the same?" Claude talks to Leon who seems to be getting sleepy.
"Sleep. You're tired, aren't you? Soon you will meet him too. Now close your eyes." Claude muttered softly as he stroked Leon's back.
Moments later Claude got off the ride and came to Vincent in the long chair nearby.
"I'm right, aren't I? He finally went to sleep," he said with a happy smile.
"Yes. Are we going home now?" asked Claude with a frown.
Vincent looked at his watch. "Hmmm, um,
any minute, Claude. One more hour."
"Can we just wait in the car?"
"Why?" ask Vincent.
"I feel uncomfortable. I'm like a one-child widower who's stocking up on the charm of looking for one mom-to-be to help me babysit!"
Claude's reply made Vincent stupefied while holding his stomach. He looks very amused.
"Yes. Laugh as much as you, Vincent, and if Leon wakes up because of your voice, I'll get you on that ride with him until he falls asleep!"
Vincent quickly covered his mouth with his hands. Then raised the baby bag following Claude who had left him while grumbling.
