CH 51'S. The target to be killed

"What's the matter, Vincent?" Claude sat down in his chair and looked at Vincent who had been sitting in the chair in front of the desk.

"I suspect this has everything to do with Rodrigo. It looks like I made a mistake again .. The man is not dead yet" Vincent said. He rubbed his face, then stroked the scar on his face. Given how Tricia scratched the knife at the time and hurt Vincent's face.

"You sure this is him?" ask Claude again.

"I'm sure. Blaird was right to say that there were no bodies at the time. There's no evidence he's dead."

Claude took a breath. They arrived at the mansion and he immediately checked all of his family members. Everything's fine, it's just that Vincent got shot and it makes Yoana look uneasy. Thankfully Catalina keeps Joanna busy by asking her to help take care of Leon who is suddenly fussy after being forced to carry Simon.

Rodrigo, who turned around the fate of his family, is still alive. His mother died from the man's gunshot. Vincent gets a scar on his face and his relationship with Joanna which is just about to start is over. His father refused the relationship, not giving his daughter to Vincent, seeing Vincent only his father would not.

His father repeatedly expelled Vincent, but the man survived, keeping his promise to Claude's mother before he died, to remain in Bernard's family, guarding and protecting Bernard's family. Not going anywhere.

Claude was convinced that, if it were not for that promise, Vincent would have left without being asked by his father. The man felt he was bringing disaster on the family. Especially after his father died, Vincent felt more guilty.

Vincent closed his heart to Joanna. Not at all willing to see her brother's immense love for the man. Pretending not to know, running the days by putting up a distance as a subordinate of Joanna. It's been ten years ... Joanna was 32 years old .. Her sister never wanted anyone else. It seems, he would never marry, if Vincent would never open his heart again.

"Looks ... He's just after my brother?" ask Claude.

"Yes .. abduction is just the beginning. Like he just wanted to bluff. Evidently with the paid kidnappers it was just unprofessional amateurs. He challenged me indirectly and I let my guard down" sighed Vincent. He recalled the barrage of bullets that had shot into the terrace of the villa, eyeing the heart of Joanna. Fortunately the girl's movements caused the bullet to miss, a bodyguard replaced Joanna and was shot in the shoulder. Just like Vincent. He immediately raised his hand and stroked his shoulder.

The gesture sent Claude's attention to the shoulder behind Vincent's shirt.

"How's your shoulder doing?" ask Claude.

Vincent just smiled. "Don't think. Just a small wound. I'll get the bullet out at Blaird's. Ask him to investigate until he can. I need Rodrigo's data. I'll find his hiding place."

Claude's words made Vincent laugh. The man stood up while saying.

"I'm going to see Blaird now. I'm not afraid of death, Claude. If Rod shoots me and I end up dead, then it looks like it's going to be the end for all of this." Vincent turned and stepped. Just two steps he left Claude, Claude's voice made him stop.

"If you die, then it's not the end of all this, Vincent. It's just the end for you. Rodrigo's target to kill is my brother! He will continue to seek the life of Joanna. To him, Tricia's life can only be replaced by my brother's. Don't forget that, Vince! So try to stay alive. Because the job of looking after Joanna is not just my job! This duty is charged by Mother to you! If you can't open your heart to Joanna, then stand up, breathe and live in this world. Because for Joanna, just being able to see you is enough for her!"

Claude narrowed his eyes to Vincent who was starting to step up again when his words ended. He could not see the man's face, but he hoped Vincent would understand that his death would not bring this to an end. Because Rodrigo's real target isn't Vincent. Claude felt that Rodrigo wanted Vincent to stay alive, so that when he killed Joanna, Vincent could see and feel the loss he felt when Tricia died at the hands of Vincent.
