EX (SHACKLE OF FIRST LOVE)
110. Fear of forgetting land

As if to prove his promise, early in the morning Nadine had visited Anton's residence. He wanted to see Baby Elara because he didn't meet the baby yesterday.

When Nadine arrived, Anton was just about to bathe the baby because Baby Elara had just woken up.

"If I take a bath, can't you, Mom?"

For a moment, Anton was stunned. But then he nodded at Nadine's request. Anton remember. Nadine's words yesterday seemed to ring in his mind.

If not Elara, Nadine might not have been able to do this kind of activity her whole life.

There was a sense of pity and awe mixed into one in Anton towards the woman. Nadine seemed to miss a small figure who was currently in her arms.

Anton knows, Nadine is the wife of someone, but she never asks the woman's personal life openly unless Nadine herself says it.

But, the feeling of admiring the woman simply arose as she sincerely bathed Baby Elara.

The smooth fingers are more suitable when talking about the baby, rather than Anton's hands are accustomed to holding the machine and dismantling spare parts.

Baby Elara bathed quietly, even Nadine invited her to play water lizards while occasionally joking.

Such a scene that Anton had once imagined if Shanum already had children from him. Unfortunately before that happened, Shanum was already caught betraying him, then leaving him and Baby Elara for all eternity.

Hhh .. No, those painful times have passed. It's too late to ask Anton how he feels about Shanum's departure - but just remembering a glimpse might not matter.

Honestly speaking, Shanum's departure was enough to make him feel lost.

Despite the woman's mistake, Shanum has always been a part of Anton's life.

Seeing the closeness of Nadine with Baby Elara, as if reminding Anton of the figure of the mother who should take care of her daughter. If Shanum hadn't died, would she have been given the opportunity to babysit her baby like she is now? Or will Shanum take care of the baby himself and still choose to be with Juna?

"Mass?"

Anton gasped as he felt Nadine shaking her fingers in front of his face. Ah, she daydreams indistinctly just because she saw Nadine's interaction with her baby.

"You're daydreaming, huh, Mas?" The smile on the sweet face made Anton finally grin the horse.

"Why? Remember your late wife?" nadine asked while busy handling Baby Elara, now she seemed to wear Baby Elara clothes after previously draping the tiny body with telon oil.

"Yes, if Shanum is still alive maybe he will take care of Elara" Anton admitted frankly.

"So, where am I here for you to remember Elara's mother, Mas? I'm sorry, but you're sad now."

Nadine had indeed heard from Yara that Juna's affair was the wife of her own brother which means it was Anton's wife, right?

That means Anton was ever heartbroken too-just like him? Ah, life does feel terrible for him, Yara and Anton.

Why does Nadine feel sorry for Anton? His life was not much different from that man.

"I'm not sad because I remember Shanum, but I'm sad to see Elara who has no mother." Anton lowered his head deeply.

"... Elara should have been bathed and nurtured by her own mother, but instead you are here."

"You're not happy I'm here, are you?"

"Not that, Nad. I thank you for taking the time to come here. Thank you also for loving Elara."

Nadine smiled faintly. "You know what, Mom. Because this is what makes me feel that Elara seems destined for me to foster. Well, besides her name is also the same as mine, but Elara's life makes me feel that she was really sent for me to take care of. You're mad if I feel that way?"

"If you're happy to do it, I can't be angry, Nad. Instead, I'm happy that there are people who want to care for and love my daughter - like their own child."

Nadine looked at Anton with sadness. Feeling that the man is very mature about something. There is a sense of compassion and admiration that mixes into one. But there was another taste that Nadine could not interpret as she was confused to say her name. The taste has no name yet, but Nadine is happy that Anton gave her access to visit Baby Elara.

"Yes, you go, Mom. Let Elara be in my care. I'll take care of him. You shop quietly, she's safe as I am."

Somehow just heard the statement from Nadine Anton's heart was calm. He can leave Elara and can trust her without worry.

"Thank you, Nad."

Nadine shakes. "I should be grateful, Mom. Because you gave me a chance to know what it's like to be a mother."

Unnerved. That's what Anton felt next after Nadine said her sentence. He was stunned for a long time, they stared at each other in silence. I don't know what's on the two's mind - but they admire each other's figure in that silence.

Anton immediately cut off the eye contact that occurred between them. Again he was afraid to bring this into his feelings. Nadine's kindness could have made him forget himself to go up to the sky and reluctant to step on the ground. He was afraid of soaring and forgetting the land. Such a feeling must be dispelled, for Nadine is the wife of another and again she is too beautiful for an ordinary Anton. That's the man's thinking.

Why should Anton have such a thought? Unbecoming.

It should not be put in the heart. Nadine's here only for Baby Elara, not her.

"Ehm .. By the way, your husband isn't angry that you're here looking after Elara?"

Nadine laughed blandly. "Was not going?" the woman asked to divert the conversation. He's not going to talk about Lucky right now, let alone talk about it to Anton. Not that he didn't want to open up, but remembering Lucky - it felt like he lost his spirit.

"Ah, yes.." Anton hurriedly rushed over, he saw the grateful veil again in Nadine's eyes.

Once again they looked at each other, Anton seemed to be looking for answers from the woman's clear eyes. However, I don't know, exactly what he got was just a pain and a wound that seemed to lodge there.

How deep is your pain? I want Anton to say that, but again he brushed aside his curiosity because he did not want to forget the land.

Assisted by Nadine to take care of the baby alone is very grateful, no need to visit to know more about the woman's personal problems.

"I ... go first" Anton said.

"Yes, Mas. Be careful on the road."

Anton nodded briefly, there was a small ridge at the corner of his lips, for some reason this kind of thing made him happy, perhaps because he had not been saying goodbye to a woman for a long time. Moreover, the woman settled down at home and looked after her daughter.

Anton galloped, approaching Nadine's position, anchoring a light kiss on her tiny baby who already looked beautiful and fragrant in the woman's arms.

"Dad go first, don't make Aunt Nadine bother, El." said the man talking to the baby.

Baby Elara squirmed lightly as if responding to the words of the father.

"He was not crying, but I wanted to go. Looks like she's comfortable with you."

Nadine's face reddened, not because of Anton's words, but the man talking to her was still a short distance away. I don't know why Nadine is nervous.

"Y-yes, Mom." Nadine looked down, trying to shift her nervousness by looking at the cute face of Baby Elara.

Anton chuckled softly, I don't know, he seemed to notice Nadine's nervousness.

"Bah.." the man shuffled while waving a glance.

"Bye, Mas!" sahut Nadine, but somehow he felt his heart warm when he saw Anton's attitude today.
