EX (SHACKLE OF FIRST LOVE)
154. Sky-1

Sky Pov's.

I finally set foot in Surabaya today. I've been to this city a few times for work, but only this time I returned to work out of town after five years of my marriage to Yara.

That said, this is the first time that Yara and I have had to separate because of the distance since we were officially married. This is all because I had to replace Beno to review the construction site of a Mall project.

If only the reason for Beno's innocence wasn't because of his ailing daughter, I would have rejected this offer outright. I can't be far from my wife and children, especially I don't want to miss the moment to see Aura and Cean go to school on the first day that falls a few more days.

However, the professionalism of my work as if at stake, I can not reason because Beno was not intentionally not to go.

Having just arrived at the hotel we were staying at, I felt like I had missed home. No, exactly since I got on that plane I've been wanting to go home. Clinging with my two children is more fun, let alone being able to see my wife laugh because of the ridiculousness I deliberately made. Ah, it feels so much love for them.

Me, Putra and Ibra chose to book each other's rooms because they value each other's privacy. After all, I and Ibra are married men, while the Son he is a jones alias ngenes who would probably take advantage of a situation like this to find a partner. I don't know, I don't want to know about it.

I threw my body into the bed and stared at the ceiling of the hotel room I was staying in. Ah, I should have brought Yara here, let the kids be left with Mama. I really want to be selfish, but the fatherly soul in me can't possibly do that let alone Aura and Cean being very active, mama can be overwhelmed.

I called Yara and said that I arrived a few minutes ago.

Hearing her voice made me miss. If this is the case, I will not focus on working while a few hours from now we will go directly to the agreed location.

The longing words and the promise of coming home I always say to my wife. He finally understood even though I still had a sad face when crying over my departure at the airport this morning.

In the afternoon, Yara sent me a message about those who were going to Mas Anton's house. Everything still feels fine. But at night, I felt something different. I'm sure something's gone wrong since I called her and she's been quiet a lot afterwards.

Until I finally found out that Yara was not okay. He said I was lying to him, he also said he had proof of my affair. Obviously I was surprised, because since noon I and my two colleagues only work on the location without interaction with other people especially with a woman.

The next day, I made a video call with the children and Yara also seemed to be getting more and more indifferent to me. He never acted like this.

I'm getting curious about something he says as evidence. I want to ask for proof but I'm afraid Yara is getting angry with me. I tried to calmly react to it while saying words that could make Yara think carefully about this.

Ever since I found out that Yara was mad at me, I felt so wrong. Work is also not focused because I think about other possibilities that will happen.

"Why keep daydreaming, sir?" Son asked. Obviously he could see me who hadn't noticed him.

"Ah, yes. Where was it?"

The son took a slow breath. "Sir, we are talking about this project at the cafe there aja yuk. Let's chill! Hot here, I'm not focused, you're not focused either."

Without rebutting, I followed the Son's invitation. While Ibra remained on site because there was still something she had to do there according to her jobdesk.

Luckily at the cafe, my mind was a little open. I was more focused than on the field.

"So ... How, sir?" ask the Son to wait for my answer.

"Okay, we'll scale it right away. I want to go home."

"Same kangen house people huh, sir?" seductive Son, he seems to know I'm not focused because I'm thinking about Yara.

"That's it, I'm not going home yet."

"What if you're married? I want to get married quickly. Hehe." Son wheezing.

"Eat him, rasain himself," I said in response to his teasing.

"I don't want to, sir. Fear of commitment, fear of hurting people's children" said Putra while closing the papers we discussed. His answer made me laugh.

"That's because you haven't found the right person to commit to, if you've met, you'll want to marry her right away."

"Oh, if there's no desire to marry her then that person isn't the right person, huh, sir?"

I'm shaking my shoulders at the Son's question. To be honest, I am not a man who knows the ins and outs of love because I am not such an adventurous man.

"If you can't wait to go home, you're home this afternoon. We can handle the work here because the approval of my father has been cantongi," he said pointing to a wide paper which is a blue print job.

"Partially, you've seen for yourself how the terrain and location we reviewed. It is safe" said the next son. His gaze looked reassuring, nor did I want to waste this opportunity.

"What's jobdesk tomorrow?"

"Down finishing, sir. Tomorrow we will go to the airport at noon."

"So, is it really okay if I stay?"

"Nothing dong, sir. Mr. Boss is here." The son chuckled at the end of his sentence.

"I'm home, honey." I muttered happily, though this time home without Son and Ibra.

I accidentally didn't tell Yara because she knew I'd be back tomorrow afternoon from Surabaya. Let it be, I want to surprise her with my sudden return. All at once, I want to clear up the problems that had happened between us.

Undeniably, I was curious about the evidence that Yara said. How could my wife be affected by that? Maybe he accused me of cheating even though I never forgot him since I was my wife or before marrying him.

"I will punish you after this, it's good to accuse me carelessly" I said with a thin grin, as if Yara could hear it.

...**...

I arrived at the airport of the city where I live. I thought I'd be home any minute, unfortunately the city traffic made me impatient. The taxi I was riding in didn't seem to move. Very slow as a turtle.

"Sir, I'm in a hurry. No alternative way?" ask the driver.

"Oh, we're going this way, yes, sir."

I nodded in agreement as the driver pointed in the direction he was referring.

"It's usually quieter here, sir."

"Maybe, the important thing is that I get home quickly."

Finally the taxi I was riding passed another road which he said was quieter. I did not suspect when the road was indeed more deserted only I just knew if this road could go towards my destination.

"The road here can go to Royal Housing, sir?"

The driver nodded from his position without speaking.

In the middle of the road, the taxi I was riding stopped. I cringed in wonder especially the driver directly down from behind the wheel.

"Why, Sir?"

"They deflated, sir. If you want to book a taxi online, please, sir. I think it's gonna be a long time."

I saw a phone running out of battery. Ah, shit I haven't had time to charge it because I rushed to the airport and forgot my own phone battery.

I waited for another taxi to pass, but because the road was quiet there was no other public transportation. There were only a few private vehicles passing by there. Suddenly, a car stopped right by me.

"Sky?" Someone from the car called out to me, the windshield was lowered so I could see who was behind the wheel.

"Dian?" I was surprised to find Diandra there.

"Well, are you here?"

"Taxi I'm deflated. What are you doing here?"

"This is my housing complex. Yaudah, let's go up!" the woman said offering.

I have no other choice. After all Diandra is one of my friends and Yara is also even though we had a little tenuous when I used to reject her raw. Ah, it's been a long time, I don't think Diandra will bring that up either.

"Thanks, yes, Di."

I also boarded the passenger cabin in his car, sitting right next to the Diandra who was behind the wheel.

"Where do you live?" ask Diandra.

"At Royal."

"Royal? How come this way? This road should not go there, anyway!" diandra.

I frowned in wonder, I was suspicious but I believed the taxi driver.

"We're just muters, yeah. Your taxi went the wrong way" he said later.

"I never knew I could be heading home either."

Diandra smiled at a glance while remaining focused on driving.
