When Khanif was about to step foot, suddenly his eyes caught something familiar on David's desk. David who knew the direction of Khanif's view immediately took a small frame containing photos when he was a teenager and his brother who was only two years apart.
David then said, "sorry I keep this frame on my desk, sir."
"What's wrong, just put it back there."
As much as Khanif, David did not return to put his picture frame and his brother on his work desk back. Even with trembling hands, he stuffed the frame into his desk drawer and tightly closed the drawers so that no one could see it again but him. I don't know why he was nervous and didn't want anyone to see his picture anymore.
David continued his work again. While Khanif had arrived in front of Rania's desk, when Rania was busy collecting data to one of the financial applications on her front computer.
He did not even realize that the khanif was still standing behind him by occasionally watching the computer that continued to show a number that was newly inserted with the lentic fingers of Rania playing on the computer keyboard.
Rania only realized that khanif stood behind her when Khanif deliberately cleared his throat. Rania was in a hurry to stand up, but Khanif stopped her because he said he would go to another table again. Rania nodded, following Khanif's words.
I don't think Khanif has been in this room for nearly an hour. He also passed from the room that takes care of the company's finances just by being escorted by the manager only because Khanif did not want to disturb his employees who were all busy at their respective desks. He entered the glass elevator to the twenty-first floor.
In the elevator, he kept remembering a frame located on David's desk. It was like recognizing another face there. But who? Khanif.
Really, he seemed to have met that figure. But when and where, Khanif could not remember too much. It seemed like his memory was covered by a thick fog. Khanif is not a person who is forgetful. For that, he will try again to remember who the figure in the small frame belongs to David next time.
When he arrived at the floor where his room was, he was greeted by Lisa with a face that felt guilty for not being able to carry out his duties properly.
Of course, because Lisa suspected that this could be one of the rejects of her being the main secretary of Khanif. Moreover, he had made a mistake a while ago.
If coupled with today, he had already made two mistakes. Although Khanif may not have calculated that this was a mistake because suddenly Lisa had to go home for a moment during office hours, but Lisa still worried about him. He thought Khanif would later accuse him of mixing personal matters with his current job.
"Sorry, sir. I didn't do my job well" he said, looking down at the floor.
Khanif responded, "hem. Don't worry too much because it's a sudden visit." Next Khanif walked towards his room leaving Lisa who got a bit of new hope.

At the time of returning home from work, Khanif stayed longer than usual. Even Lisa the temporary secretary had already gone home. He was also currently standing behind his glass window by watching the sun start to sink.
When Khanif saw the clock on his wrist had passed 30 minutes from the clock home as usual, Khanif took his coat hung from the corner of the office, then stepped his feet home.
When he reached the entrance of the office, Khanif squinted his eyes when he saw the familiar figure of a woman standing not far from him. Khanif then went to him and stood not far from him.
"Why haven't you come home yet?" khanif asked while putting both of his hands into his pants pocket.
Rania turned her face towards Khanif. It was stunned to see Khanif looking at him with his sharp witty eyes. Instantly it made Rania nervous and turned her eyes back to the front, then hope papa came soon.
"Sa .. I was waiting for my papa to come pick me up here," he said not to look back at Khanif because suddenly his heart was racing like he had run a marathon.
"When will it arrive?" asked Khanif who also looked ahead.
"Maybe it'll be a little while now that papa's on his way here."
"Ep. Then let me accompany you to wait for your papa to come first," Khanif said turning to see Rania for a moment. But at that time, Rania immediately turned her face to Khanif so that their eyes looked.
Actually, Rania was happy because Khanif would accompany her. But the obstacle is that if the khanif remains with him at this time, then he does not know what his heart will be that continues to beat this unnatural.
"What's wrong. I also intend to go home for a long time today" Khanif said while taking one of his hands out of his pants pocket to look at the clock that coiled his wrist. "Now it's five o'clock, so it's not too late to go home" Khanif said, ending a watch.
Rania nodded awkwardly. If it was like this, Rania could no longer make any other excuses. After all, with Khanif, he can also feel safer from the fear that had haunted him.
Honestly, before Khanif arrived earlier, Rania felt like he was being noticed by someone. Even starting from the room. But Rania doesn't know who that person is. He only felt that someone had always followed him.
With Khanif, Rania felt better and even felt safe. Because, since the arrival of Khanif, he has not felt that figure anymore. The figure who just kept paying attention to him to make him nervous. Rania stood up well and slowly tried to normalize her heartbeat as well.
Khanif who had been silent looking straight ahead finally started the conversation again. "Why are you home late than usual?"
Rania was stunned by the words of Khanif. "Did you always watch me every day, if you were going home from work?" ask Rania. Of course, Rania asked in her heart.
He was ashamed to ask Khanif directly. What will Khanif say! Especially if Khanif's response doesn't go his way like 'because I'm worried about you'. Surely he will be more embarrassed and maybe annoyed if khanif deliberately wants to upset him as usual.
So for that, Rania chose to answer another even though she still felt nervous. "Oh, that .. that, I finish my task first. It's a responsibility to stop it."
"Other times, you don't have to finish it if the office hours have passed. Especially if the report you are working on is not much needed for the next day," Khanif said gently to warm Rania's heart.
"Thank you for the attention, father," she blushed at Khanif's concern for him.
But the words of Khanif next, make the mimic Rania's face turned sour.
"I'm telling you because you're my employee. Don't you respond to him any other. After all, if you get sick again because you don't take care of your health, I'll make sure to cut your monthly salary" Khanif told Rania to look at Khanif in disbelief.
"Who wants to get sick!" ketus Rania is upset.
Lookie! Just now that they had gotten along, they had returned to looking like cats and mice only. Rania also silenced Khanif as a form of his frustration.
Not long after, a white suv car entered Khanif's office.
"Your pick has come" Khanif said.
"Ah, no. That car ain't papa's car."
"Surely he's coming to pick you up because you're staying who needs to be picked up here."
...To be continued ...
Who picked up Rania?
