Five mountaineers get lost in the middle of a snowy mountain (another version of the story says they were survivors of a plane crash). Being not strong, one of the five climbers eventually died. But the other four friends refused to leave the bodies of their friends in the middle of the mountain and decided to take them.

Until one day in the middle of a snowstorm, they found a log cabin.

They were grateful and immediately took refuge inside the log cabin. The cottage is rectangular. The cottage looked old, but still sturdy.

Unfortunately, there was absolutely no lighting in the hut, so they were forced to spend the night in complete darkness.

They put the bodies of their friends in the middle of the rectangular room.

They started talking.

“Tonight we can't sleep. When we sleep, we may not wake up again.”

“Yes, I know. But how? When we don't do something, we will definitely fall asleep.”

“I know, we just do a game.” Proposed one of their friends, still in pitch-black condition. They couldn't see each other at all, so they didn't know who they were talking to and who proposed the game.

“What game?”

“Begini, this room will be box-shaped. What if each of us stood in each corner of the room. Well, when the game started, one of us ran to the corner of the nearest room and patted the back of his friend who was there. Then he who patted his back had to run again to pat his friend who was in the corner closest to him. Once it continues until it returns to the first person and is continued until dawn arrives.”

“That's a great idea,” everyone seems to agree, “Thus we will move overnight and our body will feel warm.”

They finally did the game. Each of them, call it A, B, C, and D standing in the corner of the room. A starts running to B and pats B on the shoulder. B then immediately ran over and patted C's shoulder. C then ran over D's shoulder. And so on, they did the game until morning.

When morning came, they began to feel relieved. The light began to illuminate the entire room so that they could see the entire room. One of their friends apparently recognized this place and knew the way out of it.

Then they started to get scared.

The game wasn't as simple as they thought.

The game begins when A runs and pats B on the shoulder. B then ran patting C's shoulder. Then C ran over D's shoulder. Getting here is no problem. But when D runs to A, there should be no one there, because A is already at B. Right no? So that D must run 2 times in order to pat A's shoulder.

But when they play, no player has to run twice.

When arriving at A, D patted the shoulder of someone who then ran patting the shoulder of A who was in B.

They also realized, this game although done in a rectangular room, can not be done by four people.

The game must be played by five people.

But there were only four of them when they played that game.

Then they stared at the dead body of their friend who was lying stiff in the middle of the room.

Yeah, they're not just the four of us in the room.

They five.
