Subject: child2 Candle Cove?
Does anyone remember this anak2 event? His name if not Candle Cove and when I watched it, I would still be 6 or 7. I never found any reference to him. I thought it was on a local TV station in 1971 or 1972. I was living in Irenton at the time. I don't remember which station it was, but I'm sure it was at 4 p.m.

It feels familiar to me. I grew up outside of Ashland and I was about 9 years old in 1972. What's that show about pirates? I remember there was a pirate doll at the mouth of the cave talking to a little girl.

AYE! I'm not crazy! I remember the Percy Pirates. I was always afraid of him. It looks like it was made from another doll 2 pieces, benar2 immodal events. His head was made of an old porcelain doll that looked antique and did not fit his body. I don't remember where the show was aired.

I'm sorry to wake up this old thread again, but I know exactly what you mean, Skyshale. I think Candle Cove only aired for a few months in 1971, not 1972. I watched it a few times with my brother. The show was on Channel 58, but I don't remember the station's name. We used to watch it after my mom saw the news show. Let's see if I remember it correctly.
The show takes place in a place called Candle Cove and tells of a little girl who imagines that she is friends with pirates. His pirate ship Laughingstock and the Percy Pirates were not good pirates because he was easily frightened. And there is organ music played continuously throughout the story. I don't remember her maiden name, Janice or Jade.

Thank you Jaren! My memories flowed back as you called Laughingstock and Channel 58. I remember the hull of his ship was made of wood and painted with a smiling face, with his lower jaw submerged in water. It looked like the ship was swallowing the ocean. And the ship could also talk and laugh. I really remember how the camera would shake as they changed the model of the ship made of plastic/wood into the doll version with the head as I was talking about.

Ha ha I also remember now. Do you remember this part, skyshale: “You must enter .. into.”

Uh mike, I goosebumps just by reading it. It was the time when the ship always told Percy to enter into a scary place like a cave or a dark room where the treasure was stored. And the camera always zooms in on Laughingstock's face and sometimes 2 pauses it. YOU MUST ENTER ... INTO! With two of his eyes protruding and his open jaw closing. Uh, benar2 looks cheap and ugly!
Do you remember the villain? He has a curved mustache with sharp teeth2.

Honestly, I remember the villain was Percy. I was 5 years old watching this show. Benar2 caused nightmares.

But yeah, the villain is another doll. Si-Taker-Skin. I can't believe they let little 2 kids watch the show.

Good Lord! The-Taker-Skin? What kind of anak2 show do we see? Honestly, I can't look at the television screen when the Skin-Taker appears. He arrived2 appeared out of nowhere, hanging on his thread, just a filthy skeleton wearing a pirate hat and robe. His eyes are too big for his head. For God's sake!

Wasn't his hat and robe like they were patched insanely, there were stitches everywhere. What does it mean child2 skin?

Yeah, I guess so. I remember her mouth did not open up and down like the other dolls, but her jaw shifted back and forth. I remember the little girl asking, “Why is your mouth moving like that?” and Si-Taker-Leather did not stare at the girl but instead faced the camera and replied, “TO GRIND YOUR FLESH!”

I'm glad that other people remember this terrible event too!
I have a horrible memory, a nightmare where the opening song ends, black color starts to fade, and all the characters are there, but the cameras just close up their faces, he said, and they all scream. All the puppets were moving around uncharacteristically and just shouting, screaming. The little girl just whimpered and cried as if she had been through it for hours. I often wake up in the middle of the night because of this nightmare. Even I used to wet the bed because of it when I was a kid.

I don't think it was a dream. I remember, it happened in one of his episodes.

No, it's impossible! I mean, no plot or story, or anything. They just cried and screamed during the event.

No, I swear to God that I saw what you described. They just scream.

Oh my God, I remember! The little girl, Janice, I remember her shaking. And Si-Taker-Leather screamed while gritting his teeth,. His jaw moved crazily2an so I thought it would be detached from the wire that moved it. I turned it off and that was the last time I watched it. I ran to tell my brother and we didn't have the courage to turn it on again.

I visited my mother today at the nursing home. I asked him if he remembered an event called Candle Cove in my early 70s when I was 8 or 9. My mom was surprised I still remember the show and when I asked why, my mom just replied, “Because I thought it was weird you used to like to say, ‘I want to see Candle Cove show first, Ma.’ And then you just turn the television on to the channel without broadcast and just stare at the blank screen for 30 minutes. You have a great imagination about your little pirate show.”
