13. Sudden Visit

Amelia Santono got up from her soft mattress and opened her laptop which checked the company's database.

He checks whoever is the manager of the branch cafe he hires. Without waiting for a long time he immediately knew that Dika was in control of the cafe branch on Jalan Aksara.

Amelia called the employee no matter what time it was.

"Hello. It's Pradika, right?" Amelia said hello, even though this is 6 am not even yet. It doesn't care about the clock.

"Oh, I-yes, Miss Amelia. Why yes, Mum?" Dika whose voice sounded hoarse answered nervously. Maybe he just woke up or even was still sleeping when Amelia called him.

"Since Edward I have been tasked to check the branches of our family business, how many times has he come to the cafe on Jalan Aksara? You're in charge of all the cafe operations?" asked Amelia Santono not to mince words.

Dika was immediately silent. He remembered his promise to Edward not to say anything about his behavior disguised as a barista. But Dika also knows Amelia Santono's position is higher and she can be fired if caught lying. How'this? He's confused.

"Pradika, I want an honest answer. If you lie, I'll fire you, yeah. I sent my man to check and I saw my son there yesterday. He's wearing a barista uniform.

He also looked very close to a girl in a maid uniform. She who? Why is my son there as if he's a regular employee?" amelia Santono asked in an impatient tone.

Dika. He panicked and answered only in confusion until Amelia Santono snapped at him.

"Pradika, you're threatened not to tell me about Edward. Already, now to be honest. Clear everything!" amelia knew how to bully people.

Then Dika explained everything in a stammer, without exception. About Edward who suddenly wanted to disguise himself as a barista, then asked him to accept the proposal of a girl who was late for an interview. And he said the girl was named Kalula.

Dika explained that for several weeks he could not reprimand and could only remain silent when Edward continued to approach Kalula at the cafe.

"What are they close to? Why did my son get so far? Disguised as a barista? Every day he actually comes and works?" amelia asked in shock.

"I-yes, Mom. Mr. Edward asked me to keep her true identity a secret from everyone, especially Kalula. About how close they are, I don't know, Mom. I didn't interfere too much.

Do you know how difficult my position is? Mr. Edward said this and that then I can only obey his wishes," said Dika who is more organized and not as loud as earlier. But his tone still sounded if he was depressed.

"That girl, what was her name? Ah, ja. Calules. When applying for a job at the cafe, he left a personal data file, right? Well, you scan keep you send to me," said Amelia Santono ruled decisively.

"Al-now too, ma'am?" ask Dika confusedly.

"Yes, yes. Keep going when? Next year? I need it now" he said again with an increasingly urgent tone.

"But the data is in the cafe's office, ma'am. I'm at home right now" said Dika resigned.

"I don't want to know! Before 7 am, you should send it to me. Any way! Wanna?" Then Amelia closed the call unilaterally without waiting for Dika to respond.

He then scowled his temple and shouted to the housemaid.

"Mom! Prepare me breakfast early! Call the doctor too. My head hurts!" Amelia then staggered into the bathroom.

"Yes, Mom."

"Mama's glad Ed you're close to a girl. But why waitress cafe, anyway? Make your mother more dizzy. I never want to go home. What you want to be, son. Mama is getting old. Dizziness business. You're taking an obscure girl to your apartment." Amelia grumbled to herself.

In her luxury car, Amelia re-reads the personal data profile of Kalula that was sent this morning.

"The boy is just a high school graduate. He's still quite young. No clear job, family background can not be searched on the internet. Obviously he's nobody.

Edward might be interested in that kind of girl. Beautiful indeed. But still. Not at the level." Amelia grumbled again.

Earlier this morning his personal doctor had given him a headache medicine and said he was okay, just stressed.

Now he just went to the cafe without the knowledge of Dita and Edward. He wants to surprise. He wanted to catch his son playing there.

"It's arrived, ma'am," said the driver who had parked his car in the parking area of special cafe visitors.

Amelia nodded and went down after asking her driver not to open the car door. He did not want his arrival to be too flashy. He did not want Edward to suspect.

Amelia had already swapped the car she used to wear with an office car before leaving here. He really intended to catch his son wet.

From the barista table, Edward saw the figure who had been busy serving orders directly gave the code to Dika and just left his job.

Dika was instantly pale. He knew the Great Mistress was having an impromptu visit. Especially if it is not to find his son. And finding Kalula is also possible.

With a reflex, Dika's eyes immediately looked towards Kalula who was busy wiping the table in the corner there.

Dika's chest was really pounding fast and his heart felt like it was going to be dislodged. Earlier this morning Amelia had already assured him that Edward was angry and fired him, Amelia would hire him at another place of business.

However, for the people of the upper class, Dika only works ordinary that can be discarded at any time. And Dika felt grateful for that guarantee.

Edward took off his barista apron and directly threw it at Dika who was standing glued in suspense. He watched his mistress who was walking closer to them.

Edward immediately ran and pulled his mother's hand out.

She knew her mother was not without purpose.  There must be something.

Amelia Santono did not expect her son to react as much as she could.

"Why did you come here?" edward asked with his hand still holding his mother's arm.
