Dika nudged Edward's arm with his elbow. His face panicked and let out a silly expression.

"Where, sir? What do I have to answer?" Dika asked Edward with a mouth movement, without making a sound.

Edward gave her instructions in a whisper. Meanwhile Dika listened.

"Let's say!" Edward gave Dika a code to immediately make a sound.

"Sir Dika? Huh hello? If I don't answer, hang up, will you?" Kalula's voice sounded very confident. Obviously, he's got a new job now. No need to be afraid anymore he was threatened to be fired like that.

"Eh, i-iya yes. It has nothing to do with Edward. He didn't go to the cafe today. I was just emotional because you were absent and the cafe was crowded, so less people.

Where are you yaudah? Let me go home samperin. I'm not good because I took care of your salary yesterday. Tomorrow you can go back to work as usual." Dika tried to make his wife as a cafe manager back.

Kalula was silent for a moment. Maybe he was wondering if this was Edward's behavior or not. Withholding pay, threat of dismissal. Kalula who was eaten with the words of mama Edward apparently wavered.

"Hello, Kal?" Dika tried to call Kalula because the girl did not answer immediately.

Edward was still waiting and eavesdropping in suspense.

His only hope of getting back to knowing where Kalula is to secretly follow him.

"Sir seriously want to see me? Mr. Dika himself, right? Not the same as Edward?" Kalula was suspicious.

"I-iya, really. Me alone. I told you Mr. Edward wasn't here in the morning." Dika tried to convince Kalula with his bad acting.

"Sir Edward didn't go to the cafe? He, mmm...he asked me, didn't he?" For some reason Kalula suddenly asked this when Edward's number was blocked.

Dika glanced at Edward who was trying to remain calm and cool. Though in his heart he was happy to hear Kalula mention his name.

Edward immediately coded Dika with a headband.

"No. He is not your nanyain. Why why?" Dika even reversed Kalula's question.

Edward glared at her. Dika just grinned.

"No papa, sir. I am in Bana 12 Hospital. I will wait at the front stop. Tell me again if you want to come here." Kalula answered.

Edward slightly scrunched his brows. The infirmary? Who is sick?

"Ask who is sick! The chunky!" Edward gave Dika the code.

Dika nodded then asked this to Kalula.

"And I told you. I nolongin son of my boarding mother who fell. So I'm staying at the hospital now because her parents are still on their way from out of town. I hung up on him, sir. Later, Mr. Dika will tell you." Kalula began to suspect because his manager asked a lot.

"O-okay." Dika replied while glancing fearfully towards Edward who was busy watching.

"Oh yes, sir. One over. I will not be going to the cafe again tomorrow. I resigned. I'll send you an email tomorrow. Thanks for everything."

Tut!

"Hello? Hello, Kal?" Panicked because this call was terminated unilaterally by Kalula.

Edward urged resignation. He was confused and shocked. Why did Kalula suddenly resign? Did he get a new job? A thousand anxieties struck him.

"Where is this, sir?" When the silent witness how from the beginning Edward was willing to lie and play with a barista to look at his boss with a look of pity.

"You'll meet at the hospital. I followed from far away. Please ask him why he resigned. I can't call him anymore because my number is blocked." Edward replied weakly.

Dika just nodded without asking much more.

Edward was downcast.

Why is her love story so complicated? Is he in love with the wrong person? All the food should have been easy because Kalula had broken up from Edo by now. But it's even like this.

"Kal, actually I'm not a barista. I own this cafe. I also inherited the Gantara Group which oversees many other business branches. I love you and let's get married. Your life won't be hard anymore."

Then they embrace and happy ending like a soap opera story.

But it didn't. The ending is just the opposite.

Edward forgot there was a self-esteem that he subconsciously used. Kalula also has an ego as a woman.

What Edward did was demeaning. "Well, Kal. I just ngetes you. It turns out that even though I'm just a barista you still like me and are comfortable with me. Now I'm gonna surprise you. Tadaa! I turned out rich. You pass the test and let's be my girlfriend!"

Yeah, about that ridiculous. Edward forgot this was the real world. Where the life that Kalula passes makes it rigid and not easily swayed by wealth or the world.

The proof is that he understands Edo, an ordinary man whose life is also not much better than his economic and social status. Though with a beautiful face Kalula can date a rich man like Edward and use his money.

Nah! Kalula is more than that. Her late father educated her to become a great girl of high integrity.

"Dik, hunt call Kalula again. I wait in the car. Later I parked across the street the stop Kalula meant." The heartbroken man finally stood up to his car.

***

Kalula comes out of the hospital lobby after saying goodbye to Shanty. Yes, the situation of young pregnant women is more stable. Mrs Rudy aka the hostel owner is also on her way home. Shanty finally told me because his mother said he had a bad feeling.

Kalula put his hand in his jacket pocket. I don't know why the night air in Jakarta is cold tonight.

He stared at the moon as he walked towards the stop. Ah, it turned out that Mr. Dika was already sitting there waiting for him.

"Ah, he's alone." Kalula bathed with relief. He was worried that Edward would come along.

I don't know why his feelings say that. He looked across the street. A dark-glazed white car was parked in an undue place.

Kalula's eyebrows cringed. He remembered the car was in the parking lot of the apartment. Edward took her in a car. The car he said he had a cousin in.

Kalula bellowed inwardly when he finally realized Edward was stalking him from a distance. She was convinced that Lady Amelia Santono was right. It was all Edward. His wits alone to keep him dependent.

"You're good, Edward. You're just a liar. If you were honest from the start and didn't hurt my pride so deeply." Kalula back to his heart until finally he was standing in front of Dika.

"Kal, are you here tonight?" Dika immediately stood up from his seat and asked in a stuttering tone.

"Yes, Sir. Would you like to give me my salary cash now?" Kalula really doesn't want to talk.

The thought of Edward staring at him from his car with his brown eyes made Kalula want to rush off.

Dika took out a brown envelope bag and handed it to Kalula.

Kalula accepted and thanked him and left.

Dika panic. He immediately held Kal.

"What else is it, sir?" Kalula asked in a lazy tone.

"Mmm, you-you said quit the job, right? If you can tell you've got a new job? Mmm in-where?" Dika was really very unnatural asking like this. His voice was like being depressed. The white car across from him stood up making him intimidated indirectly.

"It's not your business. Didn't Mr Edward tell his father? He's in that white car, right? Across the street?" Kalula pointed at the white car without hesitation.

Dika. Kalula left her alone while cars and other vehicles continued to pass through the streets of the capital that was never deserted.

Kalula really built a high wall for Edward now. Maybe because he realized too, if he did not give distance he would melt quickly.

Yes, Edward dazzles with all forms of his attention for her. He's perfect. Kalula felt his pride should he uphold and sell expensive. If she falls on Edward, it means she's just like any other girl out there.
