Jogja At A Time

Jogja At A Time
29. A Time Aisle

There is no need to feel remorse about the endless past if the soul is alive. Slipping through the passageways of time about the mistakes of life that are recorded clearly in the memory, then understanding the mistakes of the present, and trying not to repeat in the future is the growth of the soul of life.

Either something complicated the soul, so it can not be separated from the record of past mistakes. Or he's so perfect that there's no burden of mistakes in his past, no one can be sure. Many lean to the sky to answer that ignorance.

And Seto doesn't care. The past, present, and tomorrow are intertwined to arrange mosaic pieces of soul growth in the pilgrimage of their respective time machines. Turn into an adult by learning from past mistakes, or remaining still frozen in the shackles of the same mistakes in the future.

Like a time machine, Seti's letter that preaches the difficulties of Joko and Bening brings Seto to the present.

Seto is now not Seto in the doubtful past. Make something useful for both figures who have stopped in a time, or let in the freezing of his past.

Deciding to go home to see Joko after Bening did not mind his will, Seto re-entered the passage of time with a soul that was increasingly alive. This time he felt useful ...

...----------------...

"Are you sure Bening is okay if I see Joko tomorrow ?" Seto starts a conversation after a nice dinner at the Mbah Jum stall.

"As long as I'm sure the arrival of the mas Joko makes me entertained, I'm sure Ning will be happy," replied Seti, "Hening and Asri himself who told me when I called them," resolute again.

Glancing at his sister's face, Seto got more and more dissolved in the passageway of time. About the difficulties of Joko and Bening as told by Seti in his letter, he actually wanted to know more. Not wanting to just guess, Seto wanted to talk directly to Bening. Hope Bening did not hesitate to tell all to him, especially financial difficulties.

"Joko's workshop how is Set ?" Trying to feel what if he can do later after meeting Joko and Bening, Seto asked Joko's business to his sister.

"I know less. Just said Asri, a lot of work has faltered since mas Joko was sick," Seti stirred the coffee glass he was making.

"Asri and Silence don't tell me maybe there's a pending workshop bill ?" Seto remembered the last time he met Joko who intended to apply for credit to the bank for the rejuvenation of work tools in his workshop.

"Well, I don't understand that problem. Just Asri and Silent told me, currently trying not to bother mas Joko and mbak Ning about their monthly allowance," Seti put the coffee glass to near Seto, "Ngopi used to be a mas," he continued while taking a cigarette belonging to Seto.

"How many packs are you now ?" Seto smiled at Seti. Interested to see him already smoking a lot after his arrival at the Samirono boarding house.

"Ah mas Seto .. This alone is a bit much because there is a mas. I can smoke and quit anytime. Not necessarily always smoking every day," Seti rather shy with reprimand Seto, "If mas object I turn it off," he continued while sticking a cigarette he held towards the ashtray.

"Hush .. ngrokok aja, mas do not forbid it as long as you can afford it," Seto chuckled at the awkwardness of Seti.

Seti looked at his brother, followed a small laugh and continued his cigarette suction. "Later to the Malioboro mas field, maybe something is forgotten before going to Purwokerto tomorrow. We'll buy it on the way,"

"Nobody seems to have forgotten about Set," Seto sipped a warm coffee that was in front of him. "The more you do your lap trading ?" Seto switched the conversation to a Malioboro lapel. Curious about Seti's story about the stall made him decide to stop first in Jogja to look at and raise the spirit of his favorite sister.

"At least I do not often ask for money again to Mr, Mother, and mas Seto again," there was a cheerful tone from Seti responding to Seto's question about the Malioboro field.

Samirono's boarding room grew warmer with the brothers' conversation. Unfortunately this semester holiday makes Seti have not had time to introduce his boarding friends. On vacation in his village. Muji also returned home waiting for his graduation which is only a few months away.

"Well, we're leaving." After spending cigarettes and coffee each, Seti invited his brother to walk to the Malioboro stall. Can't wait to introduce Seto to Joe and Doni his best friend, and of course the busy field and then the visitors.

...----------------...

Half an hour across the crowded streets of Jogja on a clear cold night, the Denok arrived at his destination. Stopping at the corner of Malioboro, Denok let two men with maturity each in the direction of the field across the street. Seto follows Seti who crosses after leaving Denok to the parking guard who smiles kindly at them. The second step looks light, want to get to the intended field immediately.

Seto's gaze turned towards the row of stalls that looked crowded in front of him. Each room looks full of visitors. Seti who was in front of him stopped at one of the stalls, then looked towards him.

"This is our stall, ... sit down first," Seti prepared a circle towards Seto. Then inching wrapped two large leather bags proffered by the shoulder-haired young man he had just swept.

"Doni," the long-haired man approached Seto, greeted and greeted him, saying his name, "Friend Seti of Purwokerto," he continued, then sat down with Seto.

"Seto, Seti's brother," replied Seto to Doni's greeting.

"That's Joe Seti's friend from High School mas," Doni points to another male figure who looks to be seducing buyers next to Seti.

Seto nodded following Doni's hand. His little heart was happy to see for itself the busyness of his sister and friend learning to value time and money. How the story of Seti turned out to be more than what is described in his letters about Jogja making a first impression with the association of Seti in Jogja satisfied his heart.

Letting a moment of Malioboro with his nightly wiggle, Seto let Seti, Joe and Doni with his busy for a moment. Taking out a cigarette from his jacket pocket, his gaze watched the corner of the other field. Realizing that Seti, Joe, and Doni's lap trading looks different from other stalls.

"This is Joe mas, a high school friend used to be with Silence," the voice of Seti who introduced Joe to him disperse the daydreams of Seto.

"Seto," replying to Joe's hand, Seto answered short.

"Want coffee or a cold drink ?" Doni who followed to the back corner of the field offered a drink towards Seto.

"Cold white water only Don ... Just had a coffee at Seti's boarding house," replied Seto.

Doni left the stall to buy the cold water that Seto asked for.

"When did you come ?" Joe mince words at Seto.

"So afternoon... Tomorrow proceed again to Purwokerto," Seto replied to Joe's reprimand.

"Will bus or train tomorrow ?" Ask Joe again.

"Come on, look at the situation."

Then the Malioboro stall began with a male conversation in the stopover of Seto's time passage after Doni returned to bring his order and a large pack of fried foods. This time all in a hopeful tone.

The story of Bening and Joko flows from Seto's mouth. The romance of Seti and Asri, the approach of Doni and Yuni becomes the story of Joe's mouth as usual with his jokes...
