Part 33 - I Miss You

Alden stepped wide quickly towards the door. His breath slightly hunted his fingers open the glass door until it opened and disappeared behind the door.

When he reached into his pocket to pick up his cell phone, he contacted Josep to wait for him in the car park. The man went to the elevator door, he was really very disappointed with Haura's words that seemed to be embarrassing himself—even he assumed that Haura had no intention of accepting her love.

Josep stood at the door of Alden's black car, as he saw his boss coming over with a grim expression. The man opened the door to let his boss in, then he opened the front door of the wheel, before long Josep started the engine of the car and then turned the steering wheel to run the car through the streets of the city of Tadpole.

"I don't want to go back to the apartment, Josep!" furious at the man, although Alden's voice looked relaxed, but there was a tone that implied he was angry.

"Where are you going?"

"Dark night, I want to spend the night there," he replied, his eyes facing out through the glass.

There was nothing Josep could do but obey the boss and his best friend. He was sure that Alden was disappointed in something that he knew.

The car that Josep was driving turned towards a bar they used to visit to just pass the time. Alden began to sit in a corner of the place, and ordered a few bottles of sampaye for the two of them.

"Are you in trouble?" josep asked to see Alden, who was like a doormat, ordered the alcoholic drink.

"I just want to get drunk" he answered briefly.

Josep could say nothing more than to obey Alden. When the liquor bottle came, Alden unceasingly poured the drink into his glass, and downed in one gulp.

After a while Alden started to get drunk, usually when Alden was drunk he just kept quiet, but this time he was like raving not knowing what he was saying. While Josep only drank a few glasses to keep himself awake and can bring his boss home.

"You know what, Josep?" Alden muttered in a raucous voice. "He doesn't like me at all."

"He... who is he?" Josep frowned when she heard him, but Josep could guess if it was Haura.

"Who else if not Haura!" he continued again with a grunting voice.

"Yes, why else would he?"

"You know, I've been waiting for him for a few years my— is looking for him, and I've finally found him. After everything I've done, there's only pain I feel, she dumped me, and asked me to date Angeline." Alden's breath was so fast.

"He's just been betrayed, Alden. He needs time." Josep explained the possibilities of what Haura was thinking. "I'm sure Haura was so traumatized by love, you know that, right?"

Alden doesn't like it. His eyes stare at Josep who seems to be chasing him. "You never know what it's like to be dumped!" grunts, then Alden slammed his head on the table causing a sensation of sound quite loud. Alden was unconscious because he was too immersed in the drink he was drinking.

Josep let out a long sigh, he knew that today would be a tiring day for him.

"You're adding to my work, Alden! Why do people fall in love always lose their minds!" sniffing Josep, the man shuffled his best friend to the car.

Three days had passed since Haura had said such a painful thing to Alden, his boss was like he had vanished like he had been swallowed by the earth. Alden was not seen in the apartment, even in the office Haura did not see the arrival of the boss.

During that time anyway, something was missing, such as important things had disappeared in Haura's life, usually Alden always called Haura a day maybe five times just to ask her the situation, she said, several times Haura glanced at her phone, and opened the messaging app, Alden appeared to be online, but the man did not contact Haura at all.

Haura's heart was really troubled, she did not know how to apologize for the words she said might offend Alden.

Even in the afternoon, Haura waited in the car in the basement parking lot, and hoped to meet Alden there. But the result is nil, the man really like lost from the circulation of Haura.

Once Haura called Alden, it would remain that the man really did not want to answer Haura's call, until he had to try several times until the man actually picked up his phone.

"Hello...."

"Yes, what's wrong?" Alden's voice from behind the phone was really very tidy making Haura uncomfortable.

"Where are you?"

"It's none of your business" he replied.

"I want to meet, so where are you now?"

"Don't you say I should date Angeline, then I'll follow your request now!"

Haura's chest felt tight, so it did not feel her tears would come out.

"Where are you?" The raucous and feeble voice of Haura made Alden wither, he knew and could feel if the woman was going to cry.

"I'm at Westing's, you can come here."

"All right." Haura closed her call, and started running the car towards the restaurant mentioned by her boss.

It didn't take long, Haura had arrived at a restaurant serving food like spaghetti, Theo's favorite. Haura goes inside looking for Alden—'s whereabouts but she doesn't find it, making Haura go back to reach into her bag looking for her cell phone.Suddenly a restaurant waiter greets her.

"Miss Haura?"

"Yes, I."

"You've been waiting for Mr. Alden in the private room" said the waiter.

Haura was led to the third floor of the place where Alden ordered a room to eat. As the door was opened by the waiter, Haura saw Alden sitting alone inside. Somehow Haura missed Alden so much that she unconsciously ran and hugged him, making Alden surprised.

"I miss you" muttered Haura softly.
