Part 37 'Bet Caught Wet

Alden came out of the restaurant following his lover who ran away from him.

"Maura!" peekik Alden tried to stop the lover. However, it seemed that Haura had no intention to stop until Alden had to bother grabbing Haura's hand, then pulling her. "What's wrong? Don't you want to marry me?" the man asked, Alden could not hide his disappointment. He prepared this all just to propose to Haura—the woman he loved so much.

Haura tears out, she covered her face with both hands for me to cover up her sadness.

"I'm sorry, Alden." Haura took a breath. "It's too soon, if you really love me, wait until I'm ready for this" Haura continued, she just wanted to get to know Alden better before deciding to get married. Because honestly, the trauma that Haura has is not easy for her to forget just like that.

Even with Alden, although she was disappointed—she had to understand the feelings of Haura's trauma inflicted by her ex-husband. He just took a little longer to wait for Haura, that's all.

Alden hugged his lover, stroked softly Haura's mane, and kissed her forehead. "All right.. I'll be waiting for you in a minute.— until you're really ready to be my wife, Haura."

Edward and Callie are in Alden's room, accompanied by Angeline and Josep. The elderly couple were so disappointed when they heard Angeline's confession about Alden and Haura's relationship status that she pretended to be in love just so Alden would avoid marriage to Iris.

Alden, who had just arrived after going to breakfast with Haura, seemed to glance at Josep, gesturing why his grandparents had come here. Even the faces of the two seemed unfriendly making Alden a little uncomfortable. While Angeline only put on a plain face.

"You've lied to us about your relationship with Haura?!" chirp Callie, get Alden ready. Surely between these two best friends one of them betrayed Alden, revealing the relationship of Alden and Haura. However, Alden can read well the minds of his two best friends— there is no way Josep did it, although Josep does not know the official relationship of Haura and Alden, yet, but the man wasn't like it—so Alden could draw a conclusion if the main suspect in the case was Angeline..

"Grandfather... Grandmom. Be calm! I can explain." Alden reached out his hand forward trying to calm his grandparents.

"Do you think we're toys, Alden? How dare you lie to us about your relationship with Haura." Edward chimed in a tinge.

Alden's eyes stared fiercely at Angeline who seemed to put on an innocent face. He reminded the woman to shut her mouth.

"But what?!" Callie interrupted Alden's sentence, the woman was really angry at the granddaughter.

"But I've loved Haura since High School, and I've been pretending it's just to tie Haura up" Alden said, he only wanted Grandpa and Grandma to believe that Alden and Haura's relationship this time was true.

"Omong empty. We know that Haura is only a widow" Callie said.

Alden was silent for a moment, he lowered his head while tidying up his suit and the man stepped closer to his grandparents.

"Listen to me, Haura has now officially become my lover, Grandma, Miss. This time you must believe that my seven-year wait has paid off." Alden explained, slowly and patiently.

"Yes, right, Grandpa—Grandmother. Alden has long harbored feelings for Haura, and now they really love each other" said Josep, although he did not know the truth of the true relationship between the boss and his employees.

"Can't!" Callie's been emotionally re-emerged. "You must be lying! From now on there are only two options for you, Alden. One marries Iris, or better we betroth you to Angeline!" said the old woman again.

Hearing her name is called to make Angeline's expression look happy.

"We don't want to accept Haura!" push Callie once more.
