...~Love Me My Lord Duke~...

...~oOo0oOo~...

I knocked on Carxen's door a few times until a cold voice came out from the inside, "Come in" Carxen said.

I turned the doorknob then pushed the door backwards. Then I immediately walked inside. Carxen was sitting in his chair reading some documents in his hand.

'I must admit, he is indeed very handsome in any way.'

I'm standing right in front of Carxen's desk. He still maintained the position of his crossed legs. Then the cold gaze of this man in front of me turned to look at me while putting documents on his desk.

I pulled out a chair in front of Carxen's desk and sat my butt right there, trying to avoid eye contact with him.

Carxen put the glasses he was wearing to the table, I glanced at Carxen's face carefully.

"Have you ever learned to manage your finances?" ask Carxen.

'Managing finances? I don't like counting.'

"Not once. I've never learned to take care of finances, or anything to do with it" I said as I watched Carxen's glasses on the table.

Carxen took his glasses and put them on again, whether it was to attract my attention or not, which I must have immediately turned my eyes and looked at him.

"From tomorrow Alfonso will teach you how to manage finances. As a Duchess, your job is to take care of the finances in this residence. And for a while, let Alfonso take your place," explained Carxen, not wanting to take his eyes off me.

I wanted to say that I couldn't possibly take care of my finances, but since he said it was my responsibility, I couldn't shake it off. In the end, inevitably, I have to keep up that responsibility.

"alright. Thank you for your concern, Mr. Duke."

Whatever was wrong with my words, the instant Carxen's countenance changed, his forehead shriveled, his gaze became cold and sharp.

'Why? What was? Did I make a mistake?'

"When are you going to call me that?"

'Calling him like that? What mean?'

"...You mean, call Master Duke?" ask me carefully.

"Viellen Von Callisto" Carxen concluded, his words were full of emphasis, his voice sounded annoyed.

I flinched a little, and immediately looked into Carxen's eyes, "Yes? Master Duke...?"

"Mr Duke?.." said Carxen with emphasis, "Do you want to be my servant?" closed, spicy.

I couldn't hide the frown on my forehead because I was upset, "Sorry, what did you mean just now?"

"Callisto is your last name now. Don't forget that you're married to me, even if it's due to force" Carxen said, ending with a tone of emphasis at the end of the sentence.

Carxen's words really offended me and ignited my emotions.

"I will never forget, and I am well aware that I am your wife from now on. Why are you suddenly asserting me about my position in this house?"

Carxen seemed to let out a slow sigh, he even took a pause, "Call me by my name, when there are only two of us," he said slowly, turning his gaze away from me.

'So the point is that he felt annoyed just because I called him, Master Duke? Did the sun really rise from the west? Looks like I should ask Ivone about it.'

"alright. I'll try to remember that" I concluded, looking down, at my wrist which showed the number 49.

"And you'd better do the same." I turned to look at Carxen sternly, "Just call my name, when it's just the two of us."

"Viellen," he called out in a quiet voice.

DEG!

Hearing Carxen suddenly say my name, made me instantly flinch.

'I didn't expect him to say it now, it was beyond my expectations.'

"...Y-Yeah? What's up?" I stammered and misbehaved.

"Please come out" Carxen concluded.

'Did the champagne effect last night go away? Why did he suddenly throw me out. This guy is totally unpredictable.'

I immediately lifted my body from the soft seat down there and looked at Carxen, "Then excuse me."

I immediately turned around and sauntered towards the door. My steps came to a halt when I was about to turn the doorknob.

"Can we have dinner together? There's something I want to talk about." I asked, venturing.

"I'm busy" Carxen replied quickly.

'I guessed it. There seems to be no chance for me to approach you.'

I smiled softly hearing that, "So it seems... Sorry for interrupting your time, Mr. Duke," I said with an emphasis at the end of the sentence, then I immediately waltzed out and closed the door strongly enough, trying to hold back my arcing feelings.
