...~Love Me My Lord Duke~...

...~oOo0oOo~...

"See you later, Mr. Duke!" I said as I waved my hand just after the horse carriage with the eagle emblem had just left the Reynch residence.

Carxen seemed indifferent from behind the train window, he was seen looking straight ahead while supporting his handsome face using his hands, no matter what he was thinking.

I heaved a sigh of relief as I stared at Carxen's carriage which was getting further away from Reynch's residence. "Hahhh~ Finally settled too.." I said slowly.

I turned around staring at the majestic and classic Mansion in front of me. Before I never imagined being able to stay in a luxurious Mansion like this, let alone become a renowned noble. My life changed in the day after that incident.

A few months ago, I was on a trip abroad to attend a big event, a summer festival. My two friends and I were invited to the festival as school representatives to enliven and perform various attractions using sticks. "Stick Master" is the nickname that people give us. Usually we appear to be commanders in marching band lines. Beyond that, we can still perform attractions even without marching band lines as long as there is accompanying music.

That day I was standing between the guardrails of the ship, looking up at the sky looking at the flock of birds that were flying with the group. From the boat I could hear the sound of the waves sweeping across the ocean, so clear and calm I thought at the time.

To be honest I decided to attend the festival this time, just because I wanted to leave the house, I wanted to divert my feelings and calm myself from all the sadness, when my father brought his affair with his daughter my age to our house.

Back then, as I stared at the twilight sky blankly, no matter how many times I thought about it, how could he do such a cruel thing, when my mother had not died long ago. How many times have I hissed to curse my father while clutching the guardrail of the ship tightly, it was still in vain.

With my head bowed and a pushy gaze into the dark sea while biting my lips, trying to hold back my cries, I had a glimmer of hope. My hope at that time, just wanted to disappear forever like foam in the ocean.

When despair came to say hello, I never knew that death was so close to me. When my two friends pushed my body with all their might, I didn't even have time to put up a fight, it happened so quickly. Only words of farewell were heard for a moment before the sound of the seawater broke the silence.

Dark, and cold. My breath is tied. No matter how hard I try to swim to the surface of the water it feels useless. My feet are constantly being pulled inside. I'm tired of struggling in the water, I just want to give up.

I closed my eyes tightly, feeling the water slowly entering my cavity. Question "Why? What wrong? Why should I?" filling my head. Pain and tightness, it felt as if water was eating away at my body. It's really torturing me, the feeling I hate the most is when I'm helpless under pressure.

" ...carsian!"

"Viellen!"

I instantly realized from my daydream as soon as I heard the voice of my half-sister. I turned my attention away from the meat steak on my plate, and looked around, looking at the faces of Father, Mother and Martha.

"Viellen, your hands are shaking, your face is also pale. Are you all right?" Martha who was sitting next to me looked at me with an anxious look on her face.

"What did Duke Callisto say, baby?" asked Eleanor, the middle-aged woman who looked at me gently, her blue eyes as clear as the ocean.

I shook my head slowly, "Don't worry Mom. Carxen was very kind to me." I smile, trying to look okay.

'Focus Viellen, don't make the atmosphere on the dinner table bad.'

I sighed softly, then looked at my father's Vounch and Eleanor alternately, "We decided to have the wedding a week away."

Hearing that, Vounch and Eleanor simply fell silent, they looked at me without saying a word.

TRANGS!!!

I immediately turned my head towards Martha who had just dropped the butcher knife from her hand.

"Ap-What? Another week??" ask Martha.

"...uhm..huh..." I scratched my nape, trying to avoid eye contact with Martha.
