42 - The Bitter Reality

Dea walks back to Naura's hospital room after she fails to catch up with Shady. Her heart was so anxious thinking about what Shady would do to Naura.

Dea approached Naura's gurney and looked at her little daughter.

"Dea..." Nilam's voice made Dea endure all the turmoil in her heart.

"Yes, Mom."

"Where's Shady? Didn't you guys see the doctor together?"

Dea felt guilty for lying to Nilam.

"Umm, Shady's got a sudden business, ma'am."

Nilam looked disappointed. "Oh that? Now you better take a break. You must be tired after a long trip."

"Yes, Mom. I'll clean up first." Dea went straight to the bathroom and washed her face.

Dea stared at her reflection in the mirror.

"What will Shady do? Is he really going to do a DNA test on Naura?"

Dea held onto his chest. "Oh my God, what's the problem? Why is it like this? Is Naura really not Shady's blood? Then who's Naura's real father?" Dea closed her eyes and did not dare to speculate further.

In a different place, Clara was enjoying her ice cream at home. The same ice cream that she enjoyed with Naura a few days ago.

"Ukh, what's this smell?" The newly arrived Rasya instantly covered his nose.

"Hey, Brother. Is the brother home?" ask Clara.

"I just want to retrieve the files that were left behind. What are you eating?"

"It's banana-flavored ice cream, brother. Tastes good! Try a little!" Clara scoops a bribe and is thrust at Rasya.

"No! I don't like ice cream. I've seen since yesterday you've always had ice cream. What's wrong with you?"

Clara put her shoulder down. "Come, Brother. I think I want to keep eating this."

Rasya shook his head slowly then headed to his study. Shortly thereafter, Rasya returns to meet Clara.

"How's Naura doing? Has his condition improved?" ask Rasya.

"Yes, Mom said his condition is improving. Today bang Shady and Dea have also returned from their honeymoon."

Rasya did not reply then passed from before Clara.

"Why the hell is he? Always acting weird."

Clara went back to eating the ice cream that she really liked.

The next day, Clara, who had bought several brands of pregnancy test kits, finally tried to use the tool. The words that Rosi said when she visited her mother's house made Clara curious about the changes that happened with her.

By breathing repeatedly, Clara strengthened her heart to see the test results.

Clara's blazing eyes saw the two red lines present in the flattened tool.

"Yes God! Is this a dream? I'm pregnant?"

Clara came out of the bathroom and intended to tell Rasya. But once again Clara hesitates if Rasya can accept her pregnancy.

"Will Rasya receive this child?" Clara stroked her flat stomach.

"No! I'd better hide this from him. He would hate me and this kid if he found out."

Clara's tears flowed without excuse. The happiness he felt was instantly gone.

Meanwhile, at the Hutama family home, Shady cuts a little hair and stores it in a clear plastic bag. Then he went to Naura's room and took the little girl's toothbrush.

Since leaving the hospital yesterday, Shady has instead headed to a club and returned drunk. Shady slept in his room until the morning. Dea and Nilam are keeping Naura in the hospital.

"After today, everything will no longer be the same, son. You've disappointed me with everything your mother has done. Is it my fault that your mother did this to me?" Shady spoke to a picture of Naura on the wall.

Shady comes out of Naura's room and then out of the house. Shady even ignored Rosi who kept calling him.

Shady drove his car to the hospital. He should be able to solve this suspicion. He doesn't want to be stuck with a past he never knew.

Arriving at the hospital, Shady immediately registered a sample of himself and Naura for a DNA test. Shady asked medics to be quicker to process his request. Shady did not bother about the cost.

"The result will be completed in 24 hours, sir. That was the fastest" explained the medic.

"Yes, okay. I'm waiting for news from you!"

Shady exited the laboratory room and then headed to Naura's room. On the way, Shady meets Dea who has just bought food for him and Nilam.

"Mas Shady?"

Shady looked at Dea with a different look.

"Where are you going? I called many times but Mas didn't answer. Is it okay?" Although Dea was disappointed with Shady's attitude that ignored him, but Dea also felt anxious to see Shady's condition.

"I'm doing fine. How's Naura?"

"Said to wait for a doctor's visit. If his condition is declared good, then Naura is allowed to go home."

"Thank God. Let's go to Naura's room!" Shady takes Dea.

Dea just nodded and walked along with Shady. Dea dared not ask about what Shady was doing in the lab room. Dea didn't want to make the situation any less conducive.

After 24 hours of waiting, Shady returned to the lab room to receive the results from yesterday's test.

"The result is in this envelope, sir. Please sir no and read."

Shady nodded in understanding then walked out of the laboratory room. Shady sat on one of the hospital's long benches.

His heart rumbled as he began to open the contents of the envelope. Time cannot be repeated. And Shady should be prepared for whatever the letter says.

Shady began to read the contents of the letter he now held.

"W-what?! It can't be!" That was all Shady could say with trembling hands.
