My Novel Antagonist is My Husband

My Novel Antagonist is My Husband
Chapter 30

One week after.

"Lucius! What's the news--"

Without warning, Lucius suddenly ran towards me and hugged me. Indeed, it has been a week since our last meeting. I didn't expect his reaction to be like this.

Right now, Cass and I are meeting Lucius at the rut where we're training. For the past week, only Cass has seen Lucius. Meanwhile, I was with Mom attending various socialization events of the nobility.

"Where have you been?" lucius asked, after he finally let go of his embrace and looked at me. His face looks plain.

"Ah, I have business at home. My brother asked me to attend some events" I said. Lucius raised an eyebrow, looking clueless. He looked towards Cass. My second brother shook his hand. "It wasn't me, but it was your eldest brother who forbade him from going to play."

"How are you? How's practice?" I asked Lucius. I glanced also at Cass as his trainer.

"He is easily trained in new sword techniques. I also trained him in transformation, though not as smart as you. But, yes, there's been a good development." Cass gave an explanation.

I turned my head towards Lucius, my smile expanding a proud omen. I tiptoed, I patted his head, like I was giving a compliment to a child.

"Great! Keep up the spirit, yes! Your wish must be reached soon!"

Spontaneous, Lucius' face flushed. My movements became stuck in place, misbehavior. I was struck by the words Cass said the other day.

"If I show progress, will you praise me?" asked Lucius innocently.

"That's certain!"

"All right then." Lucius also displayed a charming smile that became his trademark in the novel.

I was stunned, if Cass hadn't awakened me from the daydreams by saying, "Come on, continue the exercise!"

After two consecutive weeks of Cass coaching Lucius every day, it's my turn to replace the coach. Cass' vacation is over. Cass will only come on weekends because he is busy in the academy, while I can still come three days, to avoid Theo's suspicion on my activities that often play in the second wall area.

But, of course, this won't last long, especially later when I'm fourteen.

One year later, Alissa was fourteen years old.

The day finally came, when I could no longer go to Lotus's Palace often. It's time I went to study at the academy, with the other noble children.

In Glassheight, men studied outside the home from the age of ten, while women at the age of fourteen. Men's education is longer because they are needed more in the military than women. Of course, this theory was broken when Mischa became the strongest female warrior. But that's still a story later.

Right now, I'm meeting Lucius, saying that I'll only see him next weekend. Lucius heard this news and gasped. He immediately expressed objection. "Why should I study at the academy?"

Lucius would not understand. The academy is for the nobility. Children of ordinary people only get education from their parents, do not have to go to an educational institution. For the case of Lucius, there is morning to noon education at the Lotus Palace. In the afternoon they were free from any lessons. Unlike the noble academy, which requires studying until the afternoon.

Lucius realized something. "Wait first! The academy? You come from a noble family?!"

All this time, Cass and I have always worn regular folk clothes to meet Lucius. It was done to prevent any crime from happening there we, who incidentally are the children of the late Duke Valcke. Horse carriage symbolizes the Valcke family was only used once when first to the Lotus Panti. After all, Cass and I chose to rent a public horse carriage.

"Ah, yaa .. that is! We're just little nobles, really!" answer lied. It would be surprising for Lucius to find out that Cass is from the Valcke family, one of the strongest dukes in the country.

"Education is important to me. All this time, I was always studying at home. You have to be stronger, like you. But, studying at home is not enough. I need a counselor."

I'm looking for a reasonable reason. I can't possibly deny Theo's order requiring me to enter the academy. After all it was the last request of Alissa's biological father, Simon, who had not yet been realized by the late Alfred Valcke, the adoptive father. Simon wants Alissa to get a proper education. Therefore, now Theo is trying to make it happen.

"But .. You're strong enough! You can even train me!" lucius.

I'm shaking. "That's different. You don't actually need to be trained. You're strong enough and your mana is huge! You just need to be guided to control and use it. Right now, you can practice on your own!"

"But ... ." Lucius was at a loss for words. I know, he doesn't want to part with Alissa. This child seems to have really been unable to escape from the character of Alissa that I possessed. But I myself cannot be affected. Falling in love with Lucius can lead Alissa to death. My departure to the academy is also actually useful to reduce the frequency of meetings between Lucius and Alissa.

I smiled in front of him. "Look, every weekend I'll always visit you. Keep practicing and give me positive development, until I pangling you. Okay?"

" ... okay ... ." Lucius nodded. Hugged my body tightly. I returned his embrace. "Take care of yourself, yeah!"

Three years later, Alissa was seventeen.

Apparently, it didn't take me four years to complete my education at the academy. At the age of seventeen, I was released from all the education I was supposed to have for another year. It's not that I've always been top-ranked in every magic lesson and practice. Nor is it because I'm a descendant of Valcke who gets privileges. All this because something shocking has happened over the past few months.

The situation of the Glassheight Kingdom was gripping. Various villages are suddenly attacked by a group of rebels. Agriculture and housing were looted. The residents fled to other cities, leaving their land. The women lost their husbands, the babies and the children screamed. Crying was heard all over the country. Ash and smoke pollute the air due to combustion here and there. The dozens of coffins passing through the streets were endless.

Rebellions have been going on throughout the kingdom.

Of course, I know who the mastermind is. Someone who has been hurt by being dumped by his family. Someone who was very influential for the life of Alissa Valcke. This man is the strongest antagonist, the leader of a rebellion against King Eric who has ruled arbitrarily.

The second prince, Rion Ardinand.
