My Novel Antagonist is My Husband

My Novel Antagonist is My Husband
Chapter 31

"Theo, are you okay?"

Mother asked when my eldest brother had just arrived in the lobby room. Me, Mom, and Cass were gathering there, waiting anxiously for Theo. As soon as she entered the room, Mother immediately hugged her first son.

Theo's job at the palace was as one of the royal council members. The royal council is serving as a minister in my home world. Since the rebellion broke out across the country, Theo often attended meetings overtime and even traveled to the affected cities. This time, Theo had just returned home from a burning agricultural area. He had to deal directly with the people who had to evacuate.

"I'm fine, Mom," Theo said. His face looks tired. Mother asked him to sit down and told the waiter to make him some warm tea.

"How's it going in there?" ask Cass. His body is now taller than Theo's.

Theo took a long breath. "Very messed up. We have to be on standby at all times, but so far I have never met any of those rebels. They move fast!"

"Mom doesn't understand! Who's been doing it? Why are they burning the area which is a livelihood for the small people!" exclaim Mother. His tone sounded angry.

"I don't know for sure. However, there are rumors circulating, those who rebelled this is out of anger at King Eric on personal grounds." Theo shrugged his shoulders.

Cass knitted his eyebrows. "Personal? No wonder he is such a dictator! There must be a lot of people who hate him. Especially his policy that no boy should be stronger than the Prince!"

"Cass, watch what you say! I was afraid someone would hear. You know, right, the phrase "walls can have ears too"!" shouting Mother.

"Yes, yes!" sahut Cass doesn't care. He sipped his tea casually.

I started to conclude something. Who has a personal problem with King Eric, who else if not the second prince, Rion Ardinand. Rion began to gather allies from all over the country. Anyone who does not accept King Eric's style of ruling and arbitrarily killing people who are not in line with his thinking, may join his army. Anyone who can fight and wield a weapon, is welcome to follow suit.

During this time, the Valcke Family was neutral to King Eric's leadership style. Fortunately, Theo inherited the talent of a father who is good at tongue-tinning in politics. They are both able to control the people around without ever being discovered that Valcke actually never sided with King Eric. The kingdom considered the Valcke family as one of their supporters, but it was not.

"Alisa!" Cass waved his hand in front of my face. "Why daydream?"

"Ah, I'm not daydreaming. Just thinking about how the fate of our kingdom will be in the future" I replied.

"Anyway, the three of you stay alert, yes! I'm afraid something will happen to our family!"

"Look down, Mom." Theo clasped Mom's hands. "I will try to keep this family untouched by any danger!"

A few months later.

Right now, in my hand is a letter, from Mischa Sharma. This letter came a few months ago, before rebel forces began attacking major cities in the Glassheight Kingdom. It was his decision to join Rion's forces.

Mischa is actually the sister of a baby who was killed by the king's army for having great power. All this time, the Sharma family hated King Eric. However, just like Valcke, they play pretty. They don't seem to hate King Eric for his actions.

Now, the opportunity is in sight. Mischa hears of the rebel recruitment from a waiter at her house who just returned from the village. Mischa asked her servant to find out. At that time, Rion's troops had just attacked the farm in small villages. After investigating, Mischa asks her mother to allow her to join Rion's forces.

I've replied to Mischa's letter. I grant her wish to join Rion. By joining Mischa, Rion learns that the Sharma family is separated from its target of slaughter.

There is a second letter, with similar contents, but the sender is different. This second letter is from Lucius.

"If there are things you hear about rebellion, join them! Your desire for revenge will be achieved through that army!" That's how my message sounded to Lucius.

"But what about you? If I join them, we'll meet as enemies!" reject Lucius. He has a point. These rebels are targeting nobles. Lucius was afraid that he would have to fight me.

If he refuses, then the story will not move. I need to be able to convince this guy. If he could defeat Rion while trying to kill me, Alissa could live a quiet life afterwards.

"You remember, our meeting was started by my dream, when you saved me from danger? At that time your status was a member of the rebel forces!" my clear.

Lucius. "How can! It's only later that I can put you in danger!"

"Calm down" I'm on my tiptoes. This child of mine is now much taller than I am. Lucius lowered his head, so that his head could be touched by my hand. He often wants to be rubbed on his head whenever I want to calm him down or praise him. So I did that.

"We'll both be fine."

"... okay ... ." Lucius' looks were completely innocent and innocent like a small cat. She held me tight and warm, then whispered.

"There's something I want to tell you. I'll say it after my dream that could save you comes true. You're waiting for me, right?"

What did Lucius say to Alissa? Don't-don't ... .

" ... okay, I'll wait .. ." I replied. I actually doubt it. I know what Lucius is going to tell me, Alissa Valcke.

Lucius wanted to express his feelings. But I'm not the real Alissa.

Seventeen years have passed until this second, there is still only Mas Dion in my heart. Regret for what I did in the past has been present. I can't forgive myself.

With this feeling of still being indecisive, should I open my heart to another man?

Within a few months, rebel forces entered the capital. The thing that Mom was afraid of happened. Our family and the servants often locked themselves in the house. Outside the house is very unsafe. Burning happens everywhere. The screams of the citizens sounded slashing. I could only look at them all from behind the glass.

Of course, the servants of the Valcke family were sad, crying because they could not visit the family in the village. Never mind visiting, they could not even get any news from outside the capital.

These rebels are not actually attacking the little people. They set fires because it was the nobles who had the territory they were targeting. In order to torture these nobles, property including their assets was drained by these rebel forces. They targeted the territory of the nobles who were supporters of King Eric.

One year later since the rebellion began, according to the storyline that I wrote in the novel "Knight Lucius", the life of King Eric and his entire family and descendants managed to disappear at the hands of Rion.

The throne is in Rion's hands. Glassheight has a new king, Rion Ardinand, who does not hesitate to kill nobles and people who are not in line with him.

Now, the new king and his army hunt for the remaining followers of King Eric, until finally, they reach the Valcke residence.

(Ryby: Back to the scene in chapter 1. The next chapter begins the flow forward, a continuation of chapter 1. Btw, there's a change, Alissa met Rion in chapter 1 that would be 18 years old, not 20.)
