Samuel stood staring around the room that was partly neatly arranged. Sea blue painted walls dominate, and a little peach color with funny stickers in some parts to complement how warm the room is. Some cardboard neatly stacked in the corner of the room, next to it there is a clean white-painted baby box with on it already installed rattles sleep conductor with a song that melodious.
Samuel twisted the rattles pictured with stars and crescent moons, so that the soft sound of music coming out of the object and accompanied by a rotating movement of the tiny object.
A few months ago after the news of Maya's pregnancy, Samuel secretly prepared everything. The room on the top floor was close to his second private room. Sam even hid all of that from Maya.
During this particular room he locked the meeting, warning the aunt and some other maids not to divulge this secret to Maya. Because Sam was planning to surprise her after their baby was born.
And his efforts yesterday went smoothly, moving their rooms downstairs makes Maya rarely go upstairs, even though just entering the old room she and Samuel.
But now their baby candidate has been taken back by the creator.
Unable to withstand the sadness, Sam also shed his tears. Samuel's body slumped to the floor, his defenses crumbling along with his dream that simply vanished.
Samuel is devastated, though he shows no sadness in front of Maya or her parents, but he also feels destruction. Just like how Maya felt.
If yesterday he thought it would be easier to lose their baby-to-be than to lose Maya, Samuel was wrong. He actually feels very fragile now, grieving for his loss and sad to see the state of Maya after the accident that claimed their baby would be.
Even Samuel could no longer think what the motive of the crash was. For that one business, Sam prefers to leave everything to the police and also his personal lawyer. Because for Sam, the state of Maya psychology is paramount today.
Now the spacious room that had felt warm was suddenly colder and dreary. The rattling sound of sleep-drivers is still ringing, perhaps leaving a few more seconds before the song ends. Still sitting listlessly leaning his back against one side of the tiny baby box, Samuel's tears were seen plunging more and more freely on both of his tapered cheeks with the box's jaw firmly set. "Sorry daddy, son.." sizzled Samuel.
....
A pat on Sam's back made him aware, the man then rubbed his face rough and turned his head, looked at Bayu who was now squatting and then sat beside him.
"What's going on here?"
"Gue came to bring files and files from yesterday's board meeting. My aunt told me you were in this room, yes I just went up here."
Sam again rubbed his face rough until wiping his little curly hair that slightly dangled close the netra.
"Lo cry? how's Maya doing?"
"Gue was not crying," elak Samuel tried to stay strong in front of Bayu, his best friend since childhood.
"As her daddy, you don't have a heart" Bayu chirped as he changed his sitting position to sitting cross-legged, his gaze staring around the room. It turns out Sam has prepared everything, Inner Bayu.
"There is no prohibition against crying" Bayu said, then looked at Samuel.
"Lo can cry if you feel sad, laugh if you feel happy. Never pretend to feel alone. Because you're not alone, bro."
Samuel changed his position, staring blankly at the baby box before him. "Lo know? until now I can't understand why all this happened to me, the same Maya."
"Gue thought hard, why did God take our baby before we could see him in this world" said Samuel bland. "Is this God's recompense for all my depraved behavior in the past? That son of a bitch was me in her eyes, huh....?!" Samuel was now grinning.
"Mk...."
"Lo know what it's like to see Maya crying pas tau if she miscarried? Sick Bay.Just like I lost my first child."
"It's all set, Sam. Want you angry it will not change destiny," said Bayu.
"Gue knows, but why should Maya? Why should my child? Am I such a jerk that God doesn't trust me to send him to me, huh...?!" shouted Samuel.
"Nobody knows someone's life, and you know it yourself, right? property, office even a child though it's just a deposit." Bayu turned his head towards Samuel, gently patting the man's shoulder.
"Lo remember? When I was left with my parents since I was ten?" Bayu paused for a while, then took a deep breath before finally reconnecting his sentence which he had just paused.
"Gue also knows the same thing as you. Why should I lose my parents? Why not another child? I think God is unfair. Just like you're rasain right now, Sam." Bayu fell silent for a moment.
"But apparently behind the incident, God gave me another family, namely lo, aunt Anita and om Permana. Lo parents," said Bayu continued, now he looked briefly at Sam who was still sitting with his head up and eyes closed tightly.
"Think Maya, she needs you right now" Bayu said again and then got up and extended his hand to Samuel.
"It's only a matter of time, and as I said before - there must be a better replacement than this" Bayu continued.
Sam wiped his tears and welcomed Bayu's hand and stood up. "Thank's Bay...."
"Hmm, by the way....." Bayu smiled slanted and paused his sentence again. "Funny too.." continued Bayu while showing the phone screen towards Samuel. Shows a picture of Samuel crying with a funny expression. No, to Bayu, Samuel looked like a fool.
"Lo let your guard down, you fool!!" bayu said as she stepped out of the room, her satisfied smile curling at both corners of her lips, when else could she prank Samuel, The big boss of hers? cute Bayu Grin.
"Damn it ! Anjrit....!! delete the photo or I broke your neck, Woy....!" samuel shouted after Bayu.
....
Samuel slowly opened the door of the ward, in the doorway he stood looking at Maya who was still lying weak. While Siska the mother was still patiently waiting for her daughter who still looked very shocked.
"Honey.." said Samuel as soon as he walked into the spacious room with type VVIP.
Sam drew closer to Maya, gently peeping his wife's forehead. Still without any response from Maya, the girl did not even stare at Samuel's bead as the man approached and gave her a warm kiss.
There was a cold aura now that enveloped the two.
"Mom go home, let Sam wait."
"But son, you were tired from yesterday waiting for Maya twenty-four hours. Why are you going back to the hospital? Sam should take a break, sleep in your house."
Samuel smiled and nodded. "Sam is fine, Ma." Samuel drew closer to Siska and grabbed the woman's small shoulder.
"Mama Siska just go home, let me accompany Maya. It's also a pity if you have to sleep in the hospital."
"You sure?" ask Siska convincingly.
"Yes, let Sam take care of Maya."
"Yes, my mom came home first. Mama's gonna be here again tomorrow."
Sam nodded slowly, then drove his mother-in-law out of the room until she reached the end of the elevator door.
Afterwards in a hurry Samuel again stepped into Maya's room.
Sam feels unsettled leaving Maya's room unattended, even though she hasn't been around for too long.
"Darling, you ate a little yes. My mom said you haven't eaten all day. I'm bribing ya?" samuel said as he poured a spoonful of porridge into Maya's mouth.
"I'm not a laper."
"Yes but you have to eat, baby."
"What's Sam for? Who for? my son is gone." Maya replied with a flat expression, instead it could be said that his wife was now always expressing coldly to him.
Sam breathed a long breath, looking closely at his wife who was always cheerful and excited, but now...
The girl did not even have the spirit of life, her clear eyes now looked sweet and empty. Making Samuel even more devastated, he misses the old Maya.
"Yes already if you do not want to eat, but you have to drink fruit juice first yes," said Samuel gently, he grabbed a cup of glass and stick a straw on the cup wrapper.
"It's a bibik, it's safe for you, drink it..."
"I don't want to, Sam."
"Honey, you also have to fill something into your body. How can you be healthy if no food enters your body?" Samuel said again, and brought the straw to his wife's mouth.
"Take a look, drink this fruit juice. You go back to sleep, okay....? Please honey.." persuaded Samuel again.
Until finally Maya sipped some sip of avocado juice made by aunt, after he went back to sleep back to Samuel, the black eye twinkle is now suddenly disappeared. There were no more thousands of stars there, alternating with dark clouds that dominated the netra and Maya's face.
Samuel was really devastated, Maya's change of attitude made him even more hurt. Sam gently rubbed the top of Maya's head again, a warm kiss he landed there without any response from Maya.
I miss the old you, honey.....
samuel's mind is bitter.
to be continue....
