An antique clock in the corner of the hallway to the floor of Arsenio's room suddenly rang three times. His loud voice in the silent atmosphere of the magnificent mansion of the Rainier Family, made Arsenio flinch. Instantly, the man woke up from his sleep.
Similarly, Binar had trouble sleeping from the beginning. “That's weird, Rain. I got scared,” he said softly.
“I was also astonished. That clock is long dead. It's just that papa forbids to move it, because the antique is a relic from my great-grandmother,” explained Arsenio. “Maybe there is a loose bolt. Tomorrow I will check,” he continued to calm the wife.
“Already. It's still night. Let's go to sleep, Binar. Don't think too much. You have to rest a lot,” said Arsenio while pulling the slender body of the wife to lean on her wide shoulders.
Arsenio rubbed the head of Binar gently, hoping that the woman would close her eyes immediately. However, in reality it is he who does not take long to be able to fall asleep again. Arsenio even sounded a smooth snoring.
Different conditions actually occur in Binar. The pregnant woman could not close her eyes. Time and time again, he changed positions. But the sleepiness did not come. In fact, the gestational age of Binar is still fairly young. However, he had trouble sleeping, and often woke up at certain hours.
Bar finally gave up. Slowly, he put away Arsenio's hand that was coiled around his stomach. The young woman came down from the bed. He intended to go to the kitchen and drink a few glasses of water. Who knows, in such a way, he can sleep well.
Wearing fur sandals, Binar walked carefully out of the room. He set his steps as quietly as possible, especially when he passed a large and high antique wall clock, which was made of quality wood and had beautiful carvings.
The bar paused for a moment in front of the thing. He then observed a bell pendulum made of silver and shiny. Binar had caught his reflection on the surface of the convex pendulum. He suddenly shuddered in horror, then shook his head slowly as frightening thoughts disturbed his mind.
Immediately, Binar turned around and walked quickly down the stairs. Though the actual time was still one o'clock last night, but the antique wall clock instead showed the wrong time by chiming three times. Again, Binar shook his head when he felt his hair bristling.
A moment later, Binar finally arrived in the kitchen. The room looked wider when there was no one like it today. Binar took a deep breath, then opened the large refrigerator door. Take a bottle of mineral water that is deliberately cooled on the door shelf.
“Drinking that warm water is much better, son,” scolds someone with such a soft tone.
Instantly, the tiptoeing Binar was so surprised. He even released the bottle of mineral water he was holding, until it fell near his feet. Fortunately, the sparkle dodged, and the bottle rolled out of nowhere.
"Be careful, kid. Don't move suddenly like that. Not good for your womb," rebuked someone who was none other than Anggraini.
“Ma-mama?” said Binar terbat. Nervous, he lowered his body carefully to pick up the bottle that was now under the chair.
“Why not sleeping? What are these nights doing alone in the kitchen? Why are you drinking ice water?” Anggraini continued to ask without pause. The middle-aged woman reached out to Binar, as a sign that she was about to ask for the bottle of minerals that Binar took from the refrigerator. While Binar did not have the courage to argue with his mother-in-law. By force, he handed the bottle to Anggraini.
“That's so," Anggraini smiled gently. He put the bottle back in the refrigerator. Anggraini replaced it with a glass of water that he took from the dispenser. “It is not good to drink cold water at night like this, Binar. Cold air temperature should be warmed with warm drinks,” he said gently.
“I can't sleep, Ma,” said Binar shyly. Although he had been a personal assistant Anggraini and often talked with the woman, but it did not make Binar can overcome the awkward feeling this time.
“Surely you are bothered by the sound of those bells, huh?” guess Anggraini while walking gracefully to the dining table. He pulled out one of his chairs, then invited Binar to sit down together.
“Iya, Mother. Whereas since I lived here, I have never heard the clock sound,” Binar explained.
“That clock has rung twice, since it was moved to this house from the Netherlands,” said Anggraini, the first “ was a few days before Arsenio disappeared due to an accident, and now ..”.
“Ma?” Binar gulped. Honestly, the young woman's feelings were increasingly uncertain, after listening to her mother-in-law's words. Binar's thoughts immediately turned to Arsenio. It is the man who faces the most danger. A speck of tears dripped just like that without being able to withstand the Binar. Just imagining life without Arsenio alone feels like he can't afford it.
“Pray that it is not a sign of anything. Moreover, the bad thing,” entertain Anggraini who understand the unrest of Binar. Gently his hand grasped the fingers of the son-in-law who felt so cold. “Arsenio is a very strong man. As bad as anything that happened to him, he must always be able to overcome all that well.”
“Ma, I still feel fear ...” Binar was unable to hide the unrest within him. He decides to tell her about the nightmares that continue to plague her nights.
“Binar,” called Anggraini softly, "in this life, there are so many things that are beyond our power. No matter how good a human being thinks and plans everything, but if it is not destined for us, then there is nothing to do but accept,”.
“Like soul mate and death. Two things have been outlined. So, instead of worrying about things that we cannot control, better fill our minds with positive things,” continued Anggraini.
“I was afraid to listen to that one word, Ma,” Binar's voice sounded vibrating.
“Why be afraid? Death is one thing for sure, son. Therefore, make the best use of your time by doing good. Don't regret something that can't be repeated. As is the case of Mama ..” Anggraini paused his sentence. The delicate palm of the hand moved from Binar's hand to his cheek.
“That is one example of things that are beyond our control. I just pray, hopefully for the rest of my life I can see you live a good and happy life,” concluded Anggraini while hugging tightly his daughter-in-law.
“Take care of yourself and your baby well, son. Mama is proud of you guys,” added Anggraini before releasing a hug. While Binar could not say anything.
“Remember, keep a positive mind. Do not think too much about the future that we will not necessarily get there. Importantly, live the moment as best you can.” Anggraini raised the right index finger, like a teacher who was educating students. He laughed and gave a glass of water to Binar. “Now drink, may you sleep well,” tell.
“Thank you, Ma." Only that word could Binar say to Anggraini, especially when the woman kissed her forehead. The binar is freezing.
"rest. Tomorrow morning mama will take you to visit Yohana.”
What Anggraini said, even make the beautiful eyes of the Binar more wide. It was impossible for him to refuse, even though he felt very uncomfortable.
“Do not be afraid. There is Mama if they are not nice to you,” said Anggraini calm the unrest of Binar. “Mama just wants everything to run in harmony before I go home.”
This time Anggraini really ended his advice. After that she walked gracefully up the stairs towards her own room. While Binar who is now alone near the dining table, immediately sipped water quickly until it ran out. He hurriedly followed in the footsteps of the mother-in-law with a different purpose.
Binar returned to his room and snuck under the thick blanket that covered half of Arsenio's body. She saw her husband who was still asleep. Binar moves slowly, then sleep curled under the armpits of men who still look charming despite being asleep.
Too bad, Binar only briefly felt the cradle of dreamland. He instantly woke up when Arsenio's mischievous hands were guerrilla around his chest. “Come wake. Mama invites us to visit aunt Yohana early in the morning,” whispered Arsenio right in the ear of Binar.
“Rain, I just went to bed,” rejected Binar while keeping the husband's burly hands off his body.
“Jeez, it's seven o'clock, honey. Mama's been waiting downstairs for breakfast,” says Arsenio.
“Mama wait?” reset Binar. He immediately opened his eyes, then rushed down from the bed.
“Slow-slow, Binar! Remember your content,” reprimand Arsenio.
“Iya!” Binar responded in passing. He did not care about the gaze of the bright brown-eyed man because he was busy cleaning and tidying up. Before long, Binar was ready for breakfast together.
“This is the first breakfast with mama and papa when our status has become husband and wife,” said Arsenio who immediately made Binar's body stiffen.
“I remember when we had breakfast with Brother Chand. We ...”
“Please don't mention his name. I don't like it,” cut Arsenio.
“Why? Didn't he never bother us again?” reply to Binar while stepping slowly down the stairs.
“Yes, but I still clearly remember her treatment of you. He harassed you, Binar. All because of me,” regret Arsenio. “All the bad things that happen to the people I love are my own past.” The beautiful man looked down deeply. His steps gontai walked on the side of Binar.
“Already, Rain. Try not to remember it. Last night, my mother advised me to always be positive and not easily afraid,” Binar said while rubbing her husband's back.
“Tadi dalam? When?” Arsenio frowned. However, the question was not answered, because by then they had arrived at the dining table. Where Lievin and Anggraini were already sitting in their respective places.
“Come, eat first. After that we will go to the hospital,” Lievin reached out towards the empty seat next to him, as a gesture for Arsenio to sit beside him. While Binar chose to sit next to Anggraini.
The breakfast event on a sunny morning was interspersed with small talk and jokes Lievin who liked to joke. After eating together, they continued their previous plan, which was to visit Yohana in a large hospital not far from the Biantara residential area.
Arsenio acted as the driver, with Lievin sitting comfortably in the seat beside the steering wheel. As usual, the women sat in the middle. Before long, the vehicle they were riding in had reached the parking area of the elite hospital.
After asking the information officer for the room number, the Rainier family rushed into the elevator to the VVIP treatment floor. Binar, who had been feeling restless from the beginning, was getting more and more unsettled when the elevator door opened and he found Winona standing in front of the treatment room while talking to a middle-aged man dressed as a doctor.
