Binar sobbed in the arms of Vishnu and Praya for quite a long time. After channeling all emotions to satisfaction, then the poor girl unraveled her embrace. Binar looked at the level of Vishnu and Praya stuck together alternately, then rubbed innocent faces that also shed tears when Binar cried sobbing.
“You must be a strong and kind man, yes. Don't hurt anyone. God gave you a healthy body and soul to do good to everyone, not to do evil.”.
“Learn the diligent, in order to be smart and successful,”. “After this, Mbok will give you a note. You have to memorize everything Mbok wrote. Do not forget, yes,” at that time Binar whispered softly, as if he did not want Widya to hear it. Binar then stroked the tops of his two younger siblings' heads before entering the room and locking them from the inside.
In the room, Binar directly sits on a chair facing a small stacking drawer located on the side of his simple cot. The drawer also served as a table in such emergencies back then. Feelingly, Binar wrote a letter of resignation, then put it in a small envelope that he used to keep in a drawer.
After that, Binar tore two sheets of paper from his notebook and wrote down a row of numbers on both papers, then folded the papers and put them down. He moved to the bed and laid himself there. It was a horrible scene he had just experienced. Binar cried again when he remembered it. The crying continued, until he was unconscious and sound asleep.
The poor girl woke up when she heard the alarm of her phone ringing aloud. He was used to setting his alarm at four in the morning. Barin got up and went to the bathroom. He cleaned himself up and changed his clothes, then returned to the room.
After tidying his hair and sprinkling thin powder on his beautiful face, Binar opened a plastic cabinet that was slightly damaged on the door due to Widya's actions. Under the newspaper lining the base of the closet, Binar took a picture of his late father. He then rubbed it while shedding tears. “Im sorry Binar, Sir. Binar was not able to do it, but Binar will not relinquish responsibility to the brothers. Binar will still take care of them and care for them even though they do not live here anymore,” the joke.
He then put the photo in his wallet. A moment later, Binar grabbed the large backpack he had placed on top of the closet. The girl also put her best clothes into the backpack earlier. He moved to the couch and turned the mattress.
During this time, Binar always set aside money from his hard work between the wooden board retaining foam mattress. He had already managed to collect tens of thousands of pieces of money. Binar then put everything in his wallet, becoming one with a photo of his father.
He also stuffed the purse into his black backpack.
Afterwards, Binar grabbed a resignation letter and two small papers on top of the drawer. The girl then walked out of the room slowly. He opened the door to his sister's room. Gently, Binar awakened Vishnu and Praya. “Mbok?” sapa Praya who woke up first, followed by Vishnu.
“Sst,” Binar pasted his index finger on the lips, then handed two small papers containing a row of numbers on each of his sisters. “Prieve this number. This is Mbok's phone number. If you miss, you can call this number, but don't use mom's phone, yeah. Just borrow hp from Mek Made,” the message.
“Where are we going?” vishnu asked after successfully gathering his consciousness.
“Mbok want to go looking for a distant job. You guys are fine here, yes,” replied Binar. The girl's tears were dripping again. A slow sigh that then turned into a roaring cry. “Remember Mbok's words, study diligently and be a good boy,” his message before peeping the cheeks of the two sisters many times.
“Mbok, I'm coming,” whine Praya holding Binar's hand.
“I also,” pinta Vishnu lirih.
“Do not. You guys should be here, continue the school properly. Later when it's time, Mbok will come back and pick you up,” refer Binar. His fingers trembled as he gently stroked Praya's hair as well as Vishnu's. He really can't bear it. However, the vile shadow of last night again disturbed his mind, so that Binar steadied his heart to leave the house. The house he had lived in for years.
“Mbok love you two, Vishnu, Praya." It was the last sentence that Binar spoke before he actually left, from the residence that once gave him a moment of good memories with his late father.
The morning was still dark when Binar half ran down the alley until he arrived at the highway. He continued to run until he arrived in front of the souvenir shop where he worked. However, it was still too early so no one had come. The only ones who were there that early were the mothers of the rice stalls.
Binar approached and greeted the woman. “What can I help you with, Me?” ask Binar.
“Iya, want to overtime,” reasoned Binar. A sweet smile she was happy for the woman who owned the stall. “Let me help, Me. I want breakfast here,” Binar said again.
“Bby. Come.” The woman smiled kindly. He invited Barin to help him. The girl also helped the mother prepare the wares and cook some ingredients. After that, then Binar got a breakfast ration.
Binar spent his rice quickly, considering that last night, he had no time to eat at all. He stood up and put his old dirty dishes into the laundry tub. After that, he gave the money to the mother.
“This Me. Just take the change,” said Binar while putting his money on the table.
“Eh, no! No need! That was a free breakfast, because Jegeg has helped me,” reject the mother.
“It's okay, Me.” Binar hesitated between forcing or accepting the generosity of the woman who owned the stall.
“Already, just take it. Men did not reject Jegeg's kindness. That means Jegeg also should not refuse kindness,” force the woman.
“Alright, Me. Thank you very much,” said Binar full haru. He chose to give up, because at that time he saw the store manager had arrived. The man was parking his bike. While carrying a backpack on his back, Binar approached the man who always appeared to be the climist. “Pak Muchtar!” call him.
“Binars? How early in the morning did it come?” asked the man while taking off the helmet he was wearing.
“Iya, Sir. I do need to be with father,” he replied.
“Oh, we'll talk inside. Come on,” take the man. Muchtar then directed Binar towards his study. He also invited the girl to sit down. “What do you need, yes?” Muchtar turned around the desk and sat facing Binar.
“It. Sir.” Binar reached into his backpack, then thrust a white envelope in front of the man.
“What is this?” ask Muchtar. He knitted his eyebrows then opened the envelope. Muchtar also seemed to read the contents carefully. A moment later, the man shook his head slowly.
“Why so suddenly, Nar?” muchtar asked as he put the paper back. “You know for yourself, now peak season. Can be overwhelmed by the store if there is one employee who does not enter,” complains full of regret.
“I'm sorry, Sir. However, I have to catch the ferry and train schedule,” said Binar reasoned.
“Where are you going?” ask Muchtar again with a full-fledged eye.
“The plan is to go to Jakarta, sir. I want to find another fortune in the capital,” replied Binar firmly.
"Are you sure?" ask Muchtar. He just wanted to make sure, because Binar is one of the exemplary employees there.
"Yes, Sir. I have thought about this decision carefully," replied Binar without hesitation.
