I Found Love of Heaven At the End of Dusk

“Why are you, baby? I noticed, you were quiet a lot. Did I upset you?” Rangga looked at my face. I then lowered my face.

“Ah no, I was just thinking of something.” Brother Rangga tried to pierce my chin, being very careful I kept my distance from him.

“What's up? Didn't you ask me to come here?”

“I want to say something. I hope Brother Rangga understands it.”

“I hope it's not a bad thing, please.”

“Kak, today is two years after brother revealed love to me. I asked brother here to remind.” I sighed for a moment, “as well as end it.”

“What do you mean end it? Medina Qatrunnada, look at me!” Brother Rangga grabbed my shoulder and looked at my wet eyes.

“Sorry,” It releases its grip, “Why do you want to end it, Di? Isn't our relationship okay so far?”

“Sister, does brother really love me?”

“Omong empty what is it! Of course I love you so much.”

“Then, end our relationship.”

“Jeez, tell me what reason until I have to end this relationship.”

“Sister, I'm an adult. I wasn't 20 years old for long. I can tell which is good and which is bad. I have long realized that our relationship is forbidden by religion. The courtship is a little zina, brother. With all my efforts I tried to establish myself to end it, and realized that two years ago I was a high school teenager who was khilaf.” A moment of pounding filled the silence between us, “I am a Muslim, hijab. It's not appropriate if I'm still dating. I want to migrate.”

“I don't know what to say. I respect your decision, but I love you so much, Di” Kak Rangga let out a long sigh and rubbed his face in frustration.

“Kak, listen to me. Finish your thesis, and apply for me when you're ready. I'm not gonna make my college an excuse. God willing I'm ready, if brother is ready.”

“But Di, aren't we dating healthy? We rarely meet and do not violate the limits.”

“Now I have to how, Di?”

“Let us both improve ourselves. Immediately ask forgiveness from Allah, so that the good intentions of his brother in Ridhoi by Him. Call my family when you're ready. If you are a match, God willing I will wait for brother.”

“Alright, if that's what you want. Wait for me, Di. God willing I will return to you with the love of heaven that you desire.”

“Thanks, Brother.”

Dusk in the eye pelup, the sun seemed to be swallowed by the sea at the end there. The waves and the breeze of the beach broke the silence between us. I wiped the tears. How could he love me so much, and I could not give him perfect love. I hope God always gives me courage.

“Let's go home, Di. Maghrib.” in a moment Rangga extended his hand. I just smiled knotty.

“Sorry brother, I'm here by bike.” I set my eyes on the bike I parked next to the bike.

“Astagfirullah, I forgot. Want me to drop off?”

“No need, sister just go home first. I'm going to stop by somewhere.”

“Alright then. Go home, Di. It's getting dark, be careful.”

“Yes brother, be careful too.” Rangga's sister was just about to ride her motorcycle, but undone it.

“What's up, brother?”

“Oiya, almost forgot. When did you get into college?”

“Next week, the day after tomorrow I return to kost-an.”

“Then, see you at the temple, Di. Assalamualaikum.” Brother Rangga smiled amusedly looking at my mature face out of embarrassment.

“Wa’alaikumsalam.”
