Tales Of Darkness And Light

Tales Of Darkness And Light
Chapters 10

In the meeting room of the mayor of Radiata, Apple, Rue, Fedrick, Lara, Calix and Esthel sat in a round table staring at the host. The Mayor of Radiata is a brunette man with a near-forty-year-old name Linden. His body was quite tall and sturdy, with a pretty handsome face. Only, his handsome face now looked quite confused with the guests in plain sight.

"Can you tell me what really happened, Your Majesty?" linden asked respectfully to Calix. "Why are you with Princess Esthel, Prince Fedrick and Princess Lara in this city?"

"You two haven't told her?" Calix looked at Fedrick and Lara as soon as he heard Linden's question.

Fedrick could only smile bitterly, while Lara remained without any expectations .However, Calix could feel an aura of anger from Lara. Fedrick and Lara had a hard time meeting the mayor. The soldiers of the mayor's mansion's doorman were in complete disbelief as they revealed their identities, so they were both forced to spend a considerable amount of time convincing the guards of their identities.

"All right," Calix said, then he saw Fedrick and Lara silent. "I'll explain what really happened. Listen carefully."

"Why should the two of us who have absolutely nothing to do with you two have to hear your story?" interrupted the Apples suddenly while staring intently at Calix disliked.

Calix laughed nervously as soon as he saw the gaze of Apple. "You two just got here, right? So I guess you guys need to know what's going to happen now."

"What's going on, Calix?" asked Rue curiously.

Calix sighed and answered briefly. "War."

"the war? What'sthat?" asked Rue again innocently.

Everyone there was shocked to hear Rue's question. Except for Apple, they all stared at the girl with a look of disbelief. How could the girl not know what 'War' was'?

Looking at everyone who was directed at her made Rue feel her face heat up from the shame—it seems like she has asked something very stupid.

"We're gonna need a lot of time to explain to this stupid girl." Lara said without expression. He really did not know what else to say to Rue who did not know anything.

"Listen, Rue," Calix smiled. He looked at Rue and tried his best to explain. "War is a battle to seize territory."

Rue immediately nodded his head, although in truth, he still did not quite understand what Calix said. He couldn't possibly show everyone how stupid he was, right?

"In the Orsland continent there are 6 major kingdoms. First, the kingdom of Hirrim in the south. The two kingdoms of Catax in the southeast were also the Lara kingdom. Third, the kingdom of Crussader in the east, the kingdom of Fedrick. Fourth, the northeast Entaina kingdom. Fifth, the kingdom of Ormund in the north, and lastly, the kingdom of Arthorn in the west, that is where we are now at once my kingdom." Calix is slow. Clenching his hands tightly, he continued his explanation. "The relationship of these six kingdoms has been quite good all along. A week ago, each kingdom received an invitation from the King of the kingdom Ormund to attend the party he held. Each kingdom sends its prince or daughter to attend the party. But what awaited us there was not a feast, but a prison. They held us captive and intended to use us as hostages to threaten our kingdom. There too we heard of their invasion plans against other kingdoms."

All that was there could only quietly hear Calix's explanation, except Linden who immediately opened her mouth inquiring anxiously. "His Royal Highness the Prince, what about the royal Prince of Entaina and the royal Princess Hirrim?"

"We don't know" Calix replied. "We did not meet them at all. According to our guesses, they might not have attended the party. The royal prince of Entaina was a very busy person and to the royal Princess Hirrim—she was too shy."

Hearing Calix's reply, Linden sighed. At least none of the princes or princesses were hostages, "Thank God then. But how did you all get here?" ask again.

"They underestimated us. Their guard was not very strict and while their guard was a bit off guard, we managed to escape," Calix smiled grinning with the question. "We broke away into two groups to confuse the pursuers halfway through, and promised to gather in this city of Radiata to determine the way forward."

"Thank you for your information," the Apple sidelines suddenly stood up, "However, this matter has absolutely nothing to do with us," staring at Rue, he extended his hand. "Come, we're getting out of here, Rue."

Rue who was still confused and did not understand anything immediately stood up to hear Apple's words. His hand immediately grabbed the young man's hand and grasped it tightly.

Everyone in the room stared at the apple in disbelief. War was about to break out on this Orsland continent, but the young man looked completely unconcerned.

"Wait!" Calix wanted to stop Apples and Rue who already wanted to leave space. However, the door suddenly opened. A soldier ran into the room with a deathly pale face "Your Majesty, Mr. Linden, the city was attacked by warriors from the kingdom of Ormund."

......................

The city of Radiata was the capital of the kingdom of Arthorn, which was closest to the kingdom of Ormund. It was this city that was first attacked by the kingdom of Ormund. The sky of the city of Radiata changed color to red because the soldiers of the kingdom of Ormund who attacked the city burned the houses of the residents. The inhabitants try to escape from the slaughter of the enemy royal warriors and a small portion try to fight back to save their lives.

"Your Majesty, you should all leave this city immediately. Inside this house is a secret passage out of the city." Linden said as soon as he saw the color of the sky red smoldering. He knew, chaos must have been going on all over town.

Hearing Linden's words, Calix turned to look at Apple, Rue, Fedrick, Lara and Esthel. "All of you, use that secret tunnel. I'll help defend this city."

All of them were shocked except for Apple who remained silent and expressionless, as well as Rue who knew nothing.

Looking into Esthel's eyes, Calix understood what she wanted to say. A small smile, he said cheerfully. "Register, Estheli. I am the king of this kingdom in the future. I will not ignore my people."

"I'll stay here to help you too." Esthel replied quickly, she did not want to leave Calix. Who knows, what would happen to Calix if he left him here now?

"Not Esthel," grabbing Esthel's hand, Calix grasped it firmly. "You need to get out of here. I can take care of myself. You're my fiancee, I don't want you to get hurt."

"I won't get hurt" Esthel replied unconcernedly. "I'm strong enough against the Ormund warriors."

"No," Calix shook his head. Both of his eyes were fixed on Esthel's eyes. "Help me for help from the city of Cirrion."

Esthel did not find the word to reply to Calix's words again. Nibbling on his lower lip, he could only nod his head while holding back tears. Esthel knew the city of Radiata would not survive without reinforcements.

Smile again filled Calix's face, releasing the hand that was grasping Esthel's hand, she hugged him tightly. "I'm not gonna be anything. So, don't worry."

Esthel nodded her head and returned the embrace. He didn't say anything anymore.

Releasing his embrace, Calic kissed Esthel's lips softly. "Now, go."

Apple, Rue, Fedrick and Lara who were looking did not say a word from earlier. Together with Esthel, they follow Linden to a secret path within the mansion.

Calix did not move, his blue eyes clenched all of them until they disappeared from view. Reversing his body, without wasting any time, he dashed out towards the battlefield.

As Calix arrived in the middle of the city, his eyes were filled with anger. The inhabitants of the city lay lifeless, no matter whether it was women, parents or children. Red blood was everywhere, the soldiers of Ormund kingdom slaughtered the townspeople without mercy.

The two Ormund warriors, who were aware of Calix's presence, immediately ran forward, and drew their swords. Calix who was overwhelmed with anger pulled out the sword that was on his waist and repelled the attack. He did not give the two soldiers a chance to attack him again. Expertly, he played the sword in his hand killing both soldiers.

Several other warriors who saw his friend defeated Calix moved forward while unsheathing the sword. Not wasting any time, Calix immediately made a gray magic circle and recited a magic spell. From within the magic circle appeared a shadow that shot rapidly towards the enemies.

The soldiers had absolutely no chance of avoiding the shadow magic. Upon reaching them, the shadow turned into a thin sword and pierced them all from below.

"Shadow Magic! That's Prince Arthorn's kingdom!" shouted one of the soldiers as soon as he saw Calix's magic. The shadow magic used by Calix is a unique magic that only members of the Arthorn kingdom possess.

Hearing the screams of his friend, all the Ormund soldiers who were in the middle of the city moved to attack Calix. Calix has no chance to do magic anymore. Moving dodging, he tried to avenge the enemy soldiers at the same time.

With unbalanced numbers Calix began to be overwhelmed. At that very moment, not far from where he was standing, he saw five Ormund magicians reciting magic spells and a blue magic circle appeared in front of them.

Calix knew it was impossible for him to fail the magic. However, suddenly from above a huge fireball darted rapidly against the five magicians. The five witches lost their concentration so their magic failed.

Looking up at the origin of the fireball, Calix could see clearly. Under the reddened night sky, on the roof of the townspeople house, a young man stood. Black-haired with white cloth wrapped around the eyes—Apel.

"Apples?" Calix was quite surprised by the sudden appearance of Apples.

Jumping down, the Apples moved forward to attack the existing Ormund warriors. His swift and powerful movements left the enemies shocked and overwhelmed.

"Why are you here?" ask Calix bangtung. Just like Apples, he moved forward attacking the enemy.

"I don't owe you anymore." Answer the Apple flatly no matter.

"Well! Whatchu mean?" ask Calix again. He did not understand the meaning of the words Apple.

Apple doesn't answer Calix's question anymore. He again moved forward to attack the Ormund warriors who were in front.
