Tales Of Darkness And Light

Tales Of Darkness And Light
Chapter 44's

"Big brother, what the fuck is this all about?" mirthy asked Arthur. His blue eyes stared incomprehensibly at the older brother who was eight years adrift of him.

"What I'm doing has nothing to do with you, Mirthy." Arthur replied calmly. Continuously moving the pen in his hand writing something on the document in front of him, he did not stare at the slightest bit of Mirthy.

"M-they're my friends, sister," Mirthy replied quickly even though she was quite afraid of her ever-assertive brother. "Moreover, there are Princes and Daughters of the neighboring kingdoms."

Stop writing, Arthur raised his face to look at Mirthy and smiled. "I knew. That's why I caught them."

Mirthy was very surprised to hear Arthur's words, with a pale face and a stammering voice he asked. "What do you mean, brother?"

"What are you talking to King Hirrim about, Apple? Why would he keep us in this dungeon?" calix asked while looking at Apple.

Apple didn't answer Calix's question. Sitting on the floor of the prison, he was silent.

Looking at the Apple that did not answer his question, Calix could only sigh and come sit beside Fedrick. "It seems like the Goddess of misfortune keeps smiling at us these days."

They were all now inside the dungeon of the dark palace of Hirrim Kingdom. No one can use magic inside this prison, because the prison walls have been equipped with spells that make anyone inside can not use magic. But most importantly, no one knew why they were in this dungeon right now.

"What did King Hirrim talk to you about?" asked Lara suddenly while staring intently at Apple.

The apple remained silent not answering.

"Are you mute? Can't you answer my question?" ask Lara annoyed. He thought he could rest in peace tonight after a long time, but it turned out, it was in this dungeon that he was now.

"Lara, relax! Maybe the reason we're here has absolutely nothing to do with Apples." Sela Fedrick defending Apple.

"If it's really nothing to do with that blind and mute guy, can you give me the answer?" lara's reply while looking at Fedrick grew even more upset.

Fedrick couldn't answer Lara's question. To be honest, he was also very confused. What was the reason King Hirrim locked them in this dungeon? He was sure, King Hirrim must have known who they really were, and if he had known who they really were, why would he still lock them up here?

The apple that was silent didn't care about Fedrick, Lara or Calix. Thinking of how to escape from the safest prison, she did not care about anything Arthur planned against them.

"We can't use magic to destroy the walls of this magic prison. Looks like we're gonna have to spend our time in jail again." Calix slowly recalled that he, Fedrick and Lara had also spent their time inside the magic prison of Ormund Kingdom.

The apple didn't say anything. In fact, he could destroy this magic prison wall easily. This magic prison could not stop her magic if she wanted to. But he also knew it was not yet the time. He could feel the aura of those soldiers who were above their prison right now. Apple was confident he could fight them all, but he was unwilling to harm either Rue or Regis.

"Apel, are you okay?" rue asked suddenly while touching Apple's hand.

"I'm fine," Apel replied as he turned his face to look at Rue. She could not see the girl's expression because of the white cloth that closed her eyes. But, he could catch the worry in the new voice. "You're okay, aren't you most afraid of dark places?"

Rue shook his head while smiling "No, Apple. I'm not afraid of anything at all because you're here with me."

Apple smiled slightly hearing Rue's reply.

Prison house.

The cold, dark prison was actually the place that Apple hated the most. In the past, how many nights did he spend huddling in prison? How much time did he spend in confinement with all his despair and guilt?—because of that, how incredible could Rue make him smile in a place like this again.

Looking at Regis who was beside him, Rue smiled at the boy cheerfully. "You're not afraid of dark places, are you, Regis?"

Regis raised next to his brows when he heard Rue's question. He did not understand this girl, why was this girl still able to smile? Is he not aware of their current situation?

"Stupid." The Regis brief.

Mirthy stared at the blue sky from the window inside her room. Sighing, he did not know what to do. She could not let her brother do so. But, he could not fight against Arthur, his older brother who was this King of Hirrim Kingdom. For two days, Arthur had Rue and the others in the dungeon, and had no idea how they were doing now.

Closing her eyes, Mirthy tried hard to think of a way to get Rue and the others out.

Tock-tock.

"Come in." Mirthy did not see who came when he heard the sound of knocking on the door. But he knew, it must be the maids who used to take care of him. "What do you need?"

"We need your help, Princess." A woman suddenly answered.

Mirthy was very surprised to hear the voice, because, that voice was not the voice of the lady. Reversing his body, he looked at the owner of the voice. Standing in front of her, the green-eyed lady with black hair, and despite wearing the palace's maiden attire, Mirthy knew the woman was not a palace lady. He knew this woman, this woman was a friend of Rue and the others. "Mir…."

......................

"Does anyone know how long we've been here?" ask Calix. His blue eyes stared boredly at the prison wall without blinking.

"I don't know, Brother Calix," Fedrick replied beside him with a sigh. "But I think it's probably been about two days."

"About two days? Ahhhh, I don't even know it's morning, day or night anymore" Calix said with a sigh. His eyes were still staring at the prison wall that had no windows. "What does King Hirrim really think holds us here?"

No one answered the question. Slowly, Calix stared at everything inside the dungeon. Fedrick and Lara sat down while thinking about something, while Rue and Regis fell asleep quietly beside the unmoving Apple. With his eyes covered in cloth, Calix had no idea whether the apple was asleep or not.

"If the blind and mute man is not at all the cause of us being here. The answer is there is only one." Lara suddenly makes Calix and Fedrick look at her.

"What do you mean, Lara?" fedrick was confused.

"King Arthur cooperated with the Kingdom of Ormund." Lara answered with an expressionless face.

Fedrick and Calix are shocked to hear Lara's words.

"That's impossible, Lara!" Calix disagrees with Lara.

"True, Lara that's impossible!" Agree Fedrick.

"If not," replied Lara tidka cared. His two black eyes stared intently at Fedrick and Calix. "Is there a more reasonable reason?"

Fedrick and Calix fell silent unable to reply to Lara's remarks. What Lara said just now made sense. If King Arthur was to cooperate with King Ormund, it would not be strange why they could be in this dungeon.

Apple, hearing Fedrick talk, Lara and Calix, said nothing. He knew Lara's guess was probably right, she wasn't the main reason why they were here. King Arthur doesn't seem to know who he really is, because if he knew who he really is, he wouldn't be able to keep him in this dungeon. But overall, it benefits him a lot.

It's just that, Apple also knows, King Arthur's friend who asked for help to look for it is not wrong anymore is definitely the person he had been avoiding. He had to do something before everything was out of his control.

Soluble in his mind, Apple suddenly felt a familiar aura approaching the dungeon. Knowing who was coming, without wasting any time, he woke up Rue as well as Regis who was asleep beside him.

"What's up, Apple?" asked Rue softly with a sleepy face.

"Don't sleep again, stupid. Come on, we're out of here." Said the Apple slowly.
