A large full moon adorns the night sky. The fire devoured the buildings and made the night sky red. The sounds of screams and cries rang out everywhere, everyone ran to save themselves. A boy with blood red eyes looked at the scene with a smile. The boy's body and face were filled with black tattoos, and his long silver hair flew in the night breeze.
The boy's hands, body and face were filled with red blood. Looking down at the underground where he was standing, the bodies of people who were already lifeless were lying everywhere drenched in blood.
Raising his right hand which had long and sharp hooves like a savage beast, the boy licked the blood present. The smile on his face grew wider as he felt the blood. A good and satisfied feeling enveloped him, he continued to lick the blood in his hands cleanly.
Lowering his hands, the blood-red eyes of the boy aimed at the people running in front. With a smile that still remained adorned on her face, she darted towards them. His movement speed was incredible, in just a second, he had been beside one of the men running in plain sight.
Raising her right hand again, with a very long and sharp claw-like nail, she pierced right into the heart of the man beside her, and— pulled him out. The warmth and beating of the heart organ is still felt in his grip, lifting his head up, he laughed out loud full of happiness and also—madness.
****Apel*****have opened his eyes. Breathing irregularly, sweat poured down from his face. Trying to control himself, he wiped away the sweat with his trembling hand.
"Dream," Apple murmured softly as it closed its eyes. "It was just a nightmare... "
The dream she wanted to dream the least. A nightmare he wants to forget. No more blood, no death and destruction—Apel doesn't want to remember it anymore.
Apples..
Rue's soft voice along with her beautiful smile flashed through Apple's mind. At once what was in his mind disappeared. His hands stopped shaking, warmth and peace filled his heart—removing the nightmare he was having.
Opening her eyes, a single smile adorned the handsome face of Apple, no matter what happened, the smile on Rue's beautiful face always managed to become her strength. The importance of the girl to him, perhaps no one knew.
Raising his head gazing at the afternoon sky that enveloped Radiata City, Apple sighed and re-tied his eyes. Jumping down from the tree where he fell asleep, he stepped slowly leaving the garden.
The state of the city had begun to calm down even though the smell of blood was still clearly smelled in the nose of the Apple. At least the sound of the dikes was no longer heard, and also most importantly, there were no more dead bodies of them. Calix and Linden seem to have managed to take control of the city.
A soldier who saw Apple ran up to him. "Master of Apples, His Highness Prince Calux is looking for you. You are requested to return to the mayor's mansion immediately. There seems to be something important he wants to say."
The apple did not give the slightest reaction to the soldier's words. Still standing in his place, he thought, since when did the Prince dare to rule him?—dan as well, why did this warrior call him 'master'? Apple wanted to ignore the soldier's words. However, he then abandoned that intention. What if the important thing Calix wants to say is about Rue?
"Apples!" call Calix happy as soon as he sees Apple.
"You were finally present. Come on, sit here." Full of smiles, he pointed at the empty chair beside him.
Apples feel weird. Why was he welcome to sit next to those who seemed to be holding an important meeting? However, he voiced the question in his heart. Walking towards Calix's empty chair, he sat down without saying anything.
All who were there looked at the Apple with a face full of confusion and question marks, except for Calix and Linden.
Calix smiled, he knew what the eyes of all of them meant "Trust me, even though his eyes were covered in cloth, he could see and feel his surroundings accurately. So you don't have to worry, and also, he's not blind."
All who heard Calix's explanation nodded their heads. Although somewhat doubtful of the Apples they all believed what their prince said.
"I don't feel the need to be here." The apple suddenly. His voice was flat, yet it was clear he did not want to be in this room.
"So your attitude!! How dare you behave so impudently to His Highness Prince Calix!" the man sitting next to Linden shouted in anger. He could not accept the attitude of Apple which he thought was disrespectful towards Calix.
"It's okay" Calix said, calming the man down. "He's my friend, and there's no need to pay attention to our manners."
Hearing Calix's words, Apple did not give the usual reaction. He can only think, why lately a lot of people who claim to be his friend?—first Fedrick, and now Calix. As he remembered, he had never been friends with this Prince beside him at all. The reason he helped Calix was none other than because Calix had helped Rue—he just didn't want to owe anyone anything.
"We need your help, Apple" Calix continued seriously as he stared at Apple. "Ormund's forces are based in the eastern city of Radiata. We have been informed that they will attack Radiata city again tomorrow, and we cannot let that happen again."
The apple still did not react to Calix's shocking speech.
"Because of that, we want to attack Soldier Ormund tomorrow morning."
