Tales Of Darkness And Light

Tales Of Darkness And Light
Chapter 35's

Silphi's deck became the most appropriate place for Apple to teach Regis how to fight and use magic. The deck is now a favorite spot for Fedrick, Calix, Peta and the crew. During the two days that the ship sailed, they all gathered on the deck of the ship to watch the Apples train Regis.

"Thank your sword even higher. Target your opponent's weak points." Apple orders while dodging Regis's attacks. They used wooden swords borrowed from the crew for training.

"Speed up your movement and seize the opportunity."

Regis obeyed what Apple said with all his ability. Accelerating his movements, he swung the wooden sword in hand towards his opponent's leg. However, the Apples easily dodged.

"Don't give the enemy a chance to attack you." The apple moved swiftly in front of Regis. With a wooden sword in his hand, he struck the wooden sword Regis was holding so that it broke apart. The wooden sword was thrown high up and fell right in front of Calix and Fedrick who were watching.

Apple raised the wooden sword in hand and attached it to Regis' neck "If I were your enemy, then, your head has been severed."

Fedrick, Calix, Peta and the crew gulped their saliva hearing Apple's remarks to Regis. His flat voice without true emotion made anyone who heard it goosebumps. In their training, everyone could see that Apple was not a gentle coach, he was a very hard coach even though the one he trained was a child. He did not hesitate to attack Regis in their training.

"Today it's quite up here." Said Apple while lowering the wooden sword from Regis' neck.

Regis nodded his head. Although the training of the Apples was very harsh and painful, he never once denied or complained. Many of the crew members felt indifferent and amazed at the boy, because they believed they would not be able to follow the training he did.

"How about we fight for a while, Apple," Calix said suddenly as he picked up the wooden sword Regis was in front of him. His two blue eyes stared at the Apple full of challenges. "You and I—who is stronger in using the sword?"

Hearing Calix's words, the crew on the deck of the ship became very excited. All there is to know, Calix, the Prince of Arthorn Kingdom is famous for his great sword skills, and Apple who managed to defeat the enemy Commander in the war in Cirrion City must also be a swordsman who is no less powerful. Their fight was a fight that was definitely very interesting to watch.

Apple didn't care about Calix's challenge, turning her body around, she walked away.

Calix smiled grinningly at the reaction Apple had predicted. Moving forward, without hesitation, he swung the wooden sword in hand to attack the young man, "Don't run away, Apple. Our fight was then at a standstill, now it's time to determine who the winner is." His laughter was loud considering the fight at their first meeting.

The apple turned around and repelled the Calix wooden sword with the wooden sword in its hand. "I don't have time to serve you."

"If you manage to defeat me, I won't bother you anymore. However, if I manage to defeat you, call me 'Sister' correctly." Calix's smile stared at the still calm Apple as usual.

"All right." Accepting Calix's challenge, Apple gathered her strength and pushed Calix backwards with a sword in hand. He had no intention of serving Calix. However, he also knew, that man was the type of man who would not stop before his goal was achieved.

"I won't hesitate against you, Apple." Jumping backwards, Calix laughed out loud. In fact, he had no idea how powerful Apple was at using the sword. He had only ever seen the young man fight using his bare hands as well as magic, and he knew for sure, he was not an opponent of Apple in either field.

Darting forward quickly towards Apple, Calix again attacked him with a wooden sword in hand. However, this time, Apple did not hold him back, he nimbly dodged and counterattacked.

Fedrick, Map and the crew stared in amazement at the fight that lay ahead of them. Their abilities were both truly outstanding, their movements were extremely fast, neat and gave no gap to the opponent.

"You're not interested in watching that fight, Regis?" fedrick asked Regis who was beside him and Map. He was astonished that Regis was busy memorizing the magic spell that Apple taught, the boy did not look interested in the fight ahead.

"I'm not interested in seeing a fight that is clear who the winner is. There's no way Sister Apple would lose to someone like that, Fedrick's sister." Regis replied flatly without looking at Fedrick.

Fedrick and Peta who heard Regis' answer could only fall silent without saying anything. This child was really similar to Apple, even the way he looked at Calix was similar to—did he not know that Calix was the future King of this Arthorn Kingdom?

On the other hand, Apple's continuous attacks directed at him made Calix start to be overwhelmed to fend off and dodge. He really did not think that Apples were also very good at using swords.

Jumping away making distance between them, Calix began to feel exhausted. Sweat flowed from his forehead and his breathing had already begun to pant. Not with the apple. The young man stood up in his very prime condition without showing the slightest sign of exhaustion.

Nibbling his lower lip, Calix knew, if the fight continued like this, then, he would definitely lose. Therefore, he decided to launch a final attack on the Apples by gathering all his energy and abilities. Shaking the sword in his hand tightly, he darted back quickly towards the Apples.

The apple that saw Calix darting towards him also knew, this attack was the last attack from his opponent that would determine who was the winner in their fight. Not dodging the attack, he accepted the challenge and darted forward. The sword in his hand raised—he didn't mean to let Calix win.

Everyone watching the fight held their breaths as they launched their final attack.

When the final attack had been launched, neither Apple nor Calix moved from the spot. The two of them stood back to each other without saying anything.

No one knew who the victor of the battle they had witnessed just now. However, the wooden sword that was in Calix's hand suddenly broke in two.

"I lost." Calix has admitted defeat. He had lost a landslide in the fight against Apple. He had exerted all his abilities, but Apples clearly did not exert all his abilities.

Turning his body, Calix sighed looking at Apple. His desire to have Apples within his army became even stronger. Since their first meeting, he had been very interested in her. The power and magic of Apple is incredible, it will be an incredible ally in the ongoing war. Therefore, he dared to offer her wealth, honor and position when asking for her help in the war in the city of Radiata. He couldn't possibly let a person with this kind of extraordinary talent just walk away, even though in the end Apple rejected everything it had to offer.

"Keep that promise." Apple's voice remained as emotionless as ever, he did not look happy at the slightest bit of his victory.

"All right." Calix replied briefly while sighing once more. He was really curious, how powerful the Apples really were.

"All right," Regis said, suddenly startling Fedrick and Peta, who had been amazed to watch the fight. "Apple lads are absolutely impossible to lose."

Both Fedrick and Peta could only chuckle at Regis' words. A second later, the crew of the existing ship immediately clapped their hands in a very boisterous manner.

"Great!"

"That's amazing!"

"What an amazing fight!"

The apple did not care about the applause or the screams of the crew. Stepping slowly, he walked towards where Fedrick, Map and Regis were.

"Apple, wait!" call Calix. Staring at Apple, he could only ask quietly. "Who are you really?"

The apple stopped as soon as it heard Calix's question. However, he just kept silent not to answer her.

Calix was actually very curious as to who the Apples really were. He was certain, Apples were no ordinary people. The strength, attitude, innateness and charisma that he sometimes displayed were not something that an ordinary citizen possessed. Although he also could not deny the existence of a very cruel and crazy attitude in him like when he faced a dragon at Erfin Magic College and the robbers who kidnapped Rue and Lara. Moreover—changes his hands.

"Eh?! Not like—" surprised, Calix quickly reply. However, his sentence was cut off with the shouting sound of several people from a distance.

"Please!!"

"Help us!!"

"Please!!"

All who were there immediately turned their heads to stare at the sound of the scream. In the middle of the sea not far from their ship, three men were floating by holding on to a board.

Calix immediately ordered the crew to help them. The uncaring Apple slowly stepped back towards Regis who was living alone as Fedrick and Peta ran fast to see their rescue that was over the sea.

"I've memorized all the spells you taught me, Brother Apple." Regis said as he looked at Apple as he sat beside her.

"Good, Regis. Show me those magic after this business in front of us is done." Reply Flat apple.

Regis nodded his head.

Apples had no great difficulty while training Regis. He's a very smart kid. What is taught can be absorbed quickly and well. Apple was convinced, Regis would definitely become very strong later.

"Thank you! Thank you so much for helping us!" Said the three men who were rescued while setting foot on the deck of the Silphi ship. The three of them looked very pale, tired and also frightened, but also could not be denied happy because they had survived death.

Calix asked them where they came from and also why they could be swayed in the middle of this sea.

"We are merchants from the Kingdom of Catax. Our ship sailed from Farrim Port Town in Catax to Denethor Port City. However, two days ago we were caught in a storm."

"Storm?" ask Calix.

"Yes. A very strong storm. Our ship was wrecked, and we were dragged in the waves." Replied one of the merchants while trembling considering the events they had faced.

"Calm down. You have survived, and also the storm has passed. You don't have to be afraid anymore." Entertain Fedrick while handing blankets to the three men.

"Thank you." Said the traders.

"You must be hungry—I'll ask the ship's chef to prepare food for you guys." Add a Map with a smile.

The three traders had absolutely no idea what else to say. They were very grateful to their helpers.

The apple that heard the merchant's explanation said nothing. Big storm three days ago? However, the storm had absolutely nothing to do with Rue. The robbers who kidnapped Rue using the land route, they couldn't possibly be caught in the storm.

"Storm, huh? It cannot be avoided. Everyone, watch the sea carefully, there may still be survivors of the storm." Calix's orders to the crew.

"There's something strange about this storm." Said one of the merchants suddenly.

All who were there turned their faces to look at those merchants again.

"You mean?" ask Calix confused.

"Our ship was caught in that storm at night. The storm was very strong, and we could do nothing. The three of us who were bobbing around in the sea actually did not expect to get through the storm alive anymore. But..."

"But what?" ask Curious map.

"When we had given up, we suddenly saw a white light in front of us."

Heard the merchant's explanation. The apple from earlier did not care stunned. His heart is beating very fast. White light?—impossible!

"The white light grew stronger and more dazzling, so we all had to close our eyes. The light did not last long at all. When we opened our eyes the light had vanished and so had the storm."

"White light?" ask everyone who is there. They did not understand what the traders were saying.

"Yes, the white light that weed—" replied one of the merchants. However, before his sentence was completed Apple had been in front of him. Clutching the collar of the merchant's shirt tightly, he shocked everything there.

"What did you mean just now?" ask Apple.

"I-I don't know...." The merchant replied stammering in surprise.

"Jawab my question!! What do you mean by white light?!" apple asked again with anger. His voice was high with pressure.

The merchant felt very frightened, as did everything there. They could clearly feel the anger of Apple, although no one knew the reason why the young man was suddenly angry. But no one dared to stop what he was doing now. They were all just silently staring at Apple in fear, as were Fedrick, Calix, Map and Regis.

"I-I don't know.. The light suddenly appeared and disappeared. H-just like, that light feels really warm..." The merchant replied trembling while staring at Apple. Tears flowed down her cheeks—she felt herself going to die at the hands of this young man now.

Heard the merchant's answer. The apple released the grip of his hand, "The white light that stopped the storm and felt extremely warm. No way, no way." Apple muttered softly in disbelief at what he had just heard.

The robbers who kidnapped Rue did not use land routes like the information Map had obtained. The information was incorrect, they used sea lanes and were caught in a storm three days ago. The white light that the merchants saw must have been the light coming from Rue— had happened something to Rue.

An overwhelming fear enveloped the Apple. His body trembled, he did not care about Fedrick's bewildered views, Calix, Map, Regis and the others. He took off the white cloth that covered his blood-red eyes staring at the sea. "Rue..."
