Upon reaching the village square, Fedrick, Calix and Peta saw the blond-haired little boy tied to a piece of wood. Dry branches were piled around his feet. Silent without resisting, the little boy did not cry out for help or beg the villagers to stop their intention of burning him alive. However, his green eyes were staring at his surroundings full of fear.
"Stop!!" calix shouted loudly when he saw one of the villagers wanting to light a fire on a dry twig under the child's feet.
The villagers looked at the source of the voice.
"Stop!" repeat Calix again. His eyes were staring with anger at the people of Sangrath Village. "Why do you want to burn the boy alive?"
"You outsiders, don't interfere in the affairs of this village!" one of the villagers was full of anger. There was no fear on his face even though what they were about to do was a crime.
"What's the kid's fault that you want to burn him alive?" fedrick asked as he looked at all the villagers. He tried to control his emotions and asked calmly.
"really. Whatever the little boy's fault, can't you solve it without doing something terrible like this?" add the Map that stands behind the two of them.
"This kid's fault? Which outsiders know what this kid has done?" laughing the villagers looked at Fedrick, Calix and Map full of hate. They do not know what has been experienced this Sangrath Village since the arrival of this child— to his son.
"What is the child's fault?" ask Calix hard. He didn't complain, how could there be a village like this in Arthorn Kingdom?—didn't they know that this Kingdom has rules? What mistake did the boy make to be judged like this?
"This child is not from this village," the villagers said. "A month ago this child suddenly appeared here and no one knew where it came from. He was always silent never saying a word. At first we felt sorry for him, we accepted him, gave him shelter and food. Until one day, some of the villagers' children, including my son, fought with him. When we separated them, the boy let out his voice for the first time, which is that you will die!"
Fedrick, Calix and Peta heard the villagers' explanations in silence.
"Do you guys know what happened to my son and his friends who were fighting with that kid at the time?" ask the villagers. Tears flowed down, and sorrow filled his face. "They're really dead. My son and his friends died horribly from drowning in the lake!!"
"It's not just that. The village house where he was hitching a fire. All the family members died because they were caught in the fire except for the boy. Do you know? The day before the incident happened, the boy told the rest of the family that they were going to die." Add other villagers.
"He cursed them. Since the arrival of this child, many of our livestock have died, and also, the crop failure this time—this child is the bearer of misfortune, the bearer of doom!!"
"Yes!! He is the bringer of misfortune and death in our village!!"
"He cursed us who have been kind to him!!"
Shouts of anger filled the village. Fedrick, Calix and Peta knew, whatever they said, these villagers would not change their minds. The calamity that continues to hit this village has caused the villagers to become very sad, disappointed and angry—and to calm their own hearts, they scapegoat blackened the child.
Bending his head down as soon as he heard the villagers who continued to blame all the misfortune on him, the little boy did not say a word to defend himself. Because he realized, whatever he said would be useless. It was true, he told the village boy and the family he lived in, that they would die. But, it was not because he cursed them like what the villagers said.
The little boy closed his eyes and wished he could catch his ear. He had an ability that he never told anyone. He can see the death of a person through dreams. When dreaming of the death of someone he knows, he will try to tell the person concerned. But no one ever believed it. Once what he said was proven, he would be considered the cause of the man's death. He will be feared, hated, and shunned.
Sighing, the little boy opened his eyes again and looked up his head at the blue sky above. If his life really had to end here, then he would face it stoicly. She's been used to being hated and shunned all her life.— maybe dying is the best for her.
Lowering his head down again, the little boy's green eyes accidentally caught the figure of Apple not knowing since when it was behind Fedrick, Calix and Peta.
A small smile filled his face. Strange as it was, he did not know the young man, and they had only met him twice as well. Although, she could feel something dark and terrifying at the young man, she also felt comfort while being beside him. Why can he feel like that? —but, he will die soon, there is no point in him thinking about all that.
The apple that had just entered the village square knew the green eyes of the boy were staring at him. His ears could clearly hear the endless cries of anger of the villagers.
"If the child dies, our village will be free from all these calamities!"
"Yes!! That's why we have to burn it!! He must die!!"
"Burn!! Burn it!!!"
"Burn the calamitous child!!"
The sound of cries of anger and hatred—judgment towards a bottomless little boy, Apple who was there inevitably remembered something he had wanted to forget all along.
"Kill the boy!!"
"Don't let him live!!"
In the darkness of the night, a black-haired little boy ran down a small alley, desperately trying to dodge some of the adults chasing him while carrying a sword in hand. His blood-red eyes looked at his surroundings full of panic, trying to find a way to save themselves.
The little boy was very tired. However, the adults behind him were unwilling to let go. Constantly running down the narrow alley, he had not expected, it turned out that at the end of the alley, several other adult men had been waiting for him with swords in hand. Smiles filled their faces
Reversing his body, the little boy tried to find another way to escape. But, it's too late. He had found no way to escape anymore, he had been surrounded.
"You can't escape anymore, you red-eyed demon." Said one of the men and caught him.
The boy was dragged by the adult men into a large open field. There, hundreds of people had gathered with torch flames in hand illuminating the dark night. They tied him to a piece of wood and lit a fire on the dry wood around him. The little boy screamed in pain. However, the people around him didn't care.
"Stop!!!" fedrick, Calix and Peta shouted out suddenly Apple from his mind. Although he could not see, his keen sense of smell could clearly inhale the smell of the burning dry twigs—the villagers had lit a fire under the little boy's feet.
