The Adventure of the Kecapi

The Adventure of the Kecapi
Chapter 13

And if no one can afford to pay taxes, their children will be the guarantee.

No one dared to reprove, because once someone tried to reprimand the head of the village but the result was that the person himself was detained and made a slave because he was considered to rebel against the government.

In the afternoon before night, Hua Li was worried about the night of her journey, so she tried to find an inn.

After entering the village, Hua Li entered an inn. But very surprisingly, the inn that should have been opened, was now closed and did not receive guests.

"Sorry, miss, the inn is no longer open" said a former waiter.

"Why not open?" asked the astonished Hua Li.

"We don't pay taxes and robberies to visitors almost every day!" answer the innkeeper.

"Who.what!" hua Li was surprised.

"Ma'af better miss looking for another inn" said the waiter who then closed the door.

Hua Li sighed, and then he stepped his foot towards the restaurant. When she reached the front of the restaurant, Hua Li was about to order food at the restaurant, and it turned out that she got a similar answer.

The state of the village made him feel suspicious and suspect there must be nothing. Then the girl asked a woman who looked grim and sat in front of her house.

"Aunty, what has really happened in this village?" hua Li asked the woman.

The woman looked at him with her eyebrows furrowed and then the old man looked to his right and left, then he immediately let Hua Li in, then locked the door of his house.

"Looks like she's not a villager, because you're carrying bundles, harps and swords on your back. Miss while in this village don't you talk carelessly!" whispered the middle-aged woman.

"What's up, auntie?" asked the astonished Hua Li.

The woman then told me that the village head who had been virtuous and fair was now turned into a cruel racketeer.

"Auntie, just before I got to this village, I saw a corpse, and the corpse was wearing blue clothes and gray pants" Hua Li said.

"Then, she is Han Xie!" exclaimed the aunt who instantly turned sad.

"Han Xie's? Who is Han Xie, auntie?" asked the curious Hua Li.

"She's.she's my sister!" replied the aunt who with a hoarse voice and tears streaming down her cheeks.

"What! sister aunt? why is he so bi?" hua Li asked who was getting curious.

"Han Xie was arrested for daring to denounce the village chief and said he would be made a servant at the brothel" the aunt replied as she wiped her tears.

"But why was he killed so badly?" said the aunt who was still sobbing.

"It's possible that Aunt Xie was about to escape, but the fateful life of Aunt Xie is at stake!" said Hua Li who tried to conclude it.

"It seems true what you young man said, I'd better ask the citizens for help in finding my brother's corpse!" exclaimed the aunt who then rose from her seat.

"Yes bi, be careful." Hua Li's message. And the aunt came out of her house and headed to one by one the houses around her to be invited to find the body of her sister, Han Xie.

Meanwhile Hua Li also felt very upset and angry. He considered the actions of the village head to be arbitrary and should indeed be taught a lesson.

After asking here and there, he finally found the yellow painted village head building that was closed by the door.

Then Hua Li knocked hard on the door and the door was opened by a large high-statured machete-armed guard.

"Bad! who has disturbed us! do you want to die, huh!" exclaim one of the strong-bodied men.

But when he had opened the door and saw that the one who came was a very beautiful girl, the once cruel-looking face changed and now the big tall man was smiling and annoyingly.

"Eh, pretty lady! who are you looking for?" ask one of the men.

"Who are you?" hua Li said, asking.

Hearing what Hua Li said, the big tall person widened his smile.

"I'm a security guard here. Is Miss going to meet the village chief?" asked one of the guards, and Hua Li nodded.

"Yes, please call the village chief. Tell him I'm about to meet him." replied one of the guards with a smile again.

"Then wait a minute, let me tell the village chief master!" exclaimed the guard who then stepped his foot inside and shortly afterwards came out.

"You're welcome to face inside, miss." said the guard, and Hua Li followed the guard into the inner room.

The girl was cautious as she remained with great suspicion. They arrived in a spacious inner room and on a chair behind his desk sat an old man.

Just glancing at her at a glance Hua Li knew that the person was a learned and kind-hearted person, but his pair of eyes dimmed and withered as if suffering greatly within.

When he saw her coming, the old man was arrogant and haughty, but the sharp-eyed Hua Li often received scorn from her father and was able to recognize human face and nature, then he knew that attitude was sheer coercion.

"Who are you, and where have you come from and what need is there to find me?" asked the village chief in a haughty voice.

"Village Chief, please ma'af if I disturb you. I was a nomad who happened to pass by in this village, but the strange circumstances that occurred in your village made me feel bad and I had to reprimand you." Hua li explained.

The face of the village chief turned pale. I think he was worried and angry.

"Miss you're a young girl don't interfere in government affairs. Better get out of my village safely!" exclaimed the village chief with widening his eyes.

"Village head! You are so cruel as to blackmail your own people, suck the villagers who raised you to the head! Didn't you know that by your rule it makes many of your people suffer from hunger? Don't you hear how they complain and cry because the sweat and blood they squeeze in the fields turns out you took the produce!" hua Li exclaimed furiously.

"Be quiet you snot boy! You..quick out of here!" the village chief shouted loudly while his face grew pale.
